The horse that I ride at my school is a brilliant horse but he always leans on the forhand, he is completely balancing on my hand support and although he goes on the bit, he completely overbends, evading my control. Half halts and squeezing with the leg don't do much and I can't carry a schooling whip with him because I need a showjumping whip to keep him going. Any suggestions?

He's a schoolhorse, you say? Ridden by various other people? Unless he gets into a serious daily training regime both on the lunge and under saddle with an experienced rider, it's going to be quite difficult to get any change. What you teach a schoolhorse one day can be erased the next.

I may ont know much about hunter/jumpers , but I know what ur going through. I sadly have to sell my fav horse because i've outgrown her.

If u want 2 keep riding the same horse , u could try wearing blunt spurs ( prince of whales is the best example) & carying the crop .
