Well Im not entirely sure how up to date every one is around here, but recently I've been been finding a lot of news related to spinoffs that I decided to share.

First things First: Sarah Jane Adventures [ information taken from Outpost Gallifrey Doctor Who News Page]

The Doctor Who News Page is delighted to be able to confirm the return of a popular and much-loved character from the classic series of Doctor Who. The character appeared in many classic series stories, and will be seen in a two-part story in the next series of spin-off The Sarah Jane Adventures, starring Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith.
[the spoileriffic part]
The returning character is Sir Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart, played by Nicholas Courtney. The character - who for much of the classic series was the commanding officer of the UK branch of UNIT, and one of the Doctor's closest allies - first appeared in 1968 opposite the Second Doctor, and went on to appear in stories with the Third, Fourth, Fifth and Seventh.

Courtney has also played the Brigadier opposite the Sixth and Eighth Doctors in officially-licensed audio dramas from Big Finish Productions.

The same Sarah Jane Adventures story will also apparently see the return of the Sontarans, seen in several classic series stories and more recently in series four of Doctor Who. Samantha Bond is also believed to be returning as Mrs Wormwood, the character she played in the pilot episode of The Sarah Jane Adventures.

I really can't wait to see this xd

K9, his very own spin off? all redsigned and modern? am I the only one whose scared?
Ummm lets go back to Outpost Gallifreys News Page for Info

Production on the long-awaited spin-off series featuring K9 is due to start in Australia next month, according to the Pacific Film and Television Commission.

An article in its June newsletter says that Bob Baker is currently in Queensland, writing the 26-part show. He co-created the character of the robot dog with Dave Martin, who died in March 2007.

According to the PFTC, Baker is working on the spin-off - called simply K9 - with Queensland writers Shane Krause and Shayne Armstrong.

It is being produced by Simon Barnes, and Richard Stewart and Penny Wall from Brisbane company Stewart Wall Entertainment.

A PFTC spokesman told The Doctor Who News Page: "The series certainly is imminent! K9 is in pre-production at present in Queensland. However, exact dates for production have not yet been confirmed."

Outpost Gallifrey reported last July that an unspecified amount of funding had been approved by Australia's Film Finance Corporation.

TV distribution agent Park Entertainment has said the half-hour episodes, to be made by Jetix Europe, will be live action and CGI.

Okay then, Now we have all heard the news, I would like to here what you've all got to say about these issues. In other words, go wild

I'm thinking "Yay!" for more SJA, and "WTF?" for the K-9 thing. I mean, really.

Yeah, I expect the K9 series to crash and burn. I can't believe they're making a series without even having a pilot yet, to learn that it won't work, just as K9 & Company didn't.

And now I have the K9 & Company theme in my head. Neer ni ni ni-neeeeer....
