It had been a quiet evening thus far. The pink and orange sky was cloudless and the black birds quietly picked about the ground, scavenging for worms and small bugs that generally came out during the hour of twilight. A very lush and weeping willow tree stood proudly in the middle of all the action. It's branches were filled with dozens upon dozens of small leaves and mini branches. Birds nested quietly within the drooping tree, and fireflies busily flew from one branch to the next, creating quite the display.
However, as ordinary as this tree looked, it hid a secret deep within it's low hanging branches. A purple mare, dozing off happily, completely surrounded by the branches of the willow, acting much like a curtain for her. This magnificent willow was her home, and had been for quite some time now. It took care of her and she took care of it. Together, the two thrived and endured the hardships that life threw at them. The mare was much like a fantasy nymph, not that she or the tree itself minded in the least bit.
As the sun continued to set, the mare kept on snoozing, the light display continuing as the darkness of the night began to settle in, looming over everything.

Arithyl, well truth be told it was Lyle who was in control at the moment, was grazing. The purple stallion moved slowly through the fields as he did so his ears always perked for the sound of another horse, unicorn or not. He wasn't so much on guard, merely interested in greeting whoever he happened to come along. Especially if whoever he happened to come along was a female. Lyle grinned to himself at that thought, no female could resist his charms. Or at least that's what the lilac covered stallion liked to tell himself.
Pausing in his grazing Lyle glanced up, noticing that the sun was quickly disappearing beyond the horizon. If he had any family now was when he would be reminded that he needed to hurry home to them, but unfortunately the purple stallion had no family and so no reason to hurry home. He wasn't lonely though, there was always a female to be woo'd, a stallion to run from. He chuckled softly about to go back to his grazing when he caught the scent of a female. Immediately his ears perked up and he stood tall looking around for where the scent came from.
Hmmm, He only had to think it over for a moment before he followed the scent. He made his way through trees until he came upon a large weeping willow. Slowly he picked his way up to the tree, using his horn to push away the whispy branches that created a veil. Stepping through he looked around and then down, stilled by what greeted him.
It was the most beautiful female he'd ever seen. Of course he'd said that many times before but this one was truly....magnificent. Purple all over just like himself, and she even had a sprig of lavender woven into her mane, when he just had the lilac markings on his coat. He breathed slowly lowering his head to sniff at her. He didn't want to wake her up, she looked so peaceful sleeping there.

The lavender-scented mare quietly snored, the purple stallion standing over her and admiring her for what she was. With such a beautiful and peaceful scenery, it wasn't going to be easy to wake this female. Still though, she did move around in the slightest of ways, getting into a more comfortable position for herself, her mane falling about her face and the lavender slipping down onto her cheek. Could this stallion resist such a tempting offer? Especially one that was just laying right in front of him? Chances are, no, but who was to really say. Plus, this mare had plenty of secrets of her own, whether she was actually asleep or not. Still, that was for this nosy unicorn to find out and learn the hard way.
The light display continued and the willow still acted as a large curtain, hiding the two of them from the world. What happened within its branches was for it to know and for no one to find out. The birds and the bugs that thrived happily even kept their little mouths shut, for they had secrets of their own. Still, as the stunning stallion crept closer and closer to the mare, one could tell that everything was stopping to watch, that curious streak striking horribly.
