The contest hall was empty that day. A peaceful silence blew through, and the fans slowly rotated. The front doors were closed, and the windows had been closed. The only human being in the hall was a young man, lazily flopped onto a large, puffy armchair.
He had come in to beat the heat of Katriana, and had ended up sleeping. His book was over his face, making his snores only hardly audible. His arm hung off the side of the chair, swaying like the pendulum of an old grandfather clock.
A burst of red light came from the belt of the young man, transforming into the shape of a Houndoor, who gave a bored yawn. The Houndoor padded to the nearby buffet, and heaved himself up onto the table. There was nothing there, and with a disappointed huff, leapt off the table. He sighed, and curled up at his master's feet. There was no food, and Zen hadn't brought any with him. And he was hungry.

"Gah....it's so stinkin' hot out....."
Slumping against the outside wall of the contest hall, Jen desperately fanned herself with a blank sheet of paper while glaring at the sun glimmering high above her head. No rain in the forcast, too humid to train, no one outside, casino packed to the brim! DARN IT!
With a cry of outrage, Jen crumbled up the paper and flung it towards a trashcan, getting some mild satisfation when it did a perfect sink. Wiping her forehead with the back of her head, the trainer looked in all directions before turning back towards the contest hall...problem is, was it even open?
A burst of red light came from her belt, transforming into the shape of a young Pikachu. Ears twitching, the pokemon toddled over and pressed her face against the glass of the front doors. It was too hot outside...and inside there, the air conditioning was on...
"Chu....." Trying something pitiful, the electric type started knocking on the glass door. Maybe someone was there and could let them in?

"Door?" The Hounddor popped an eye open, hearing a human yell and a small knock on the door.
"Hound!" He barked, tugging on his master's leg.
With a jump, Zen woke up from his snooze, sending his book flying. Axel was tugging at his pants, nearly tearing a hole in them. He pulled them away from him, and rubbed his head.
"What'd you want boy?" He asked, smiling. Axel barked, and nodded over to the front doors. Outside was a small Pikachu, and a familiar girl. It was Jen!
Walking up to the door, he smiled a bit. Should he let her in, or just let her Pikachu in? Hm.
He opened the door, letting the small Pikachu slip in, and shut it quickly. With a smirk, he mouthed the word "password" to Jen, who was still oustide.

"CHU!" Abiba perked up happily as she was let inside. Scampering in, she slid a little on the slick tile before skidding to a halt. Tilting her head upwards, the pikachu gave a happy sigh at the rush of cold air before bouncing over and hugging Zen's leg.
Peeking out through the glass, Abiba gave an unhappy "Chu!" Her human had been left behind! That wasn't good!
What the?! HEY! Jen raced over and reached the door just as Zen shut it in her face. Mock growling at him through the glass, she tossed the boy a small scowl at the mouthed word. "Password, eh?! I'll show you "Password"! Password, my foot! LET ME IN ZEN!" She started pounding on the glass, an evil smile forming on her face.

Zen cackled, sticking his tongue out at Jen. This was payback for the Halloween trip. He held Abiba up, and petted her, letting her go play with Axel.
"What's the magic word Jen?" He asked coyly, a smirk on his face. "What'll you do if I don't let you in? Call the cops on me?" He asked teasingly, holding the door closed.
"I can tell you the password Jen. Just say the secret word, and say I'm the best breeder this world has ever known."
Meanwhile, Axel was looking at Abiba with a smirk. She was a cutie, one that'd be fun to play around with too.
*Hey there. The name's Axel. A-X-E-L. Got it memorized?*

Growling at him, Jen pounded on the glass more. Just wait until she got in there!
"ZEN! Seriously! This isn't funny! It's hot out here!" Pressing her face up against the glass, she listened to his mocks before pulling back with an evil smile. Reaching towards her hip, the trainer unhooked a battered and well-used pokeball before holding it up. "Cops? Nah, too messy! How about I get my friend here on the line and we'll see what HE says." She scowled. She would not bow down to his will! "FREEDOM AGAINST THE MAN, MAN!" A peace sign. "I bow to no man's will!"
Abiba blinked at Houndour, noticing slight differences in the colorings of his fur. Not to mention that particular greeting of his. "Got it Memorized? That's a strange wat to greet someone." She smiled at him. "And I can spell too, i'm not a Pichu anymore." Giggling, Abiba toddled closer so she was standing right in front of Axel before tilting her head and smiling. "My name is Abiba, it's nice to meet you, Axel."

"Oh? Who're you going to send out? That old fart of a Raichu? Armageddon could easily take him." Zen smirked, pulling out Armageddon's camouflage pokeball. "Oh, what an anarchist you are, my fair Jen. Either that, OR A HIPPIE WITH LONG RATTY HAIR!" He taunted, sticking his tongue out again.
*Strange greeting? You think so?* He blinked, cocking his head. *Well aren't you cute, with you're not being a Pichu anymore and knowing how to spell.* He grinned. *Nice to meet you too, Abiba. That your trainer out there?*

"OLD FART!?! HIPPY!? RAWR!" Grabbing the door handles, she started yanking on them to open. If only she could bust through the glass....but, then again, she didn't wanna pay a massive repair bill....
Oh...what to do..? Calming down for a second, Jen tapped her chin for a few minutes before a light bulb appeared above her head. Turning back towards Zen, she knocked on the glass. "Hey, why you doin' this ta me? I haven't done anything to you! What gives?!"
Abiba sighed and hung her head. "Yes...that is my trainer." Shaking her head slightly, she looked back at Axel with a light smile. "She and my daddy seem to go well together. Something Aman said.....'Two peas in a pod'?" She pouted slightly, accidently using Attract without meaning to. "That's kind of a mean thing to say, Axel. And besides...I have a boyfriend already. So you can't say stuff like that." She giggled and winked at him, just kinda joking around.

"Why? Simple Jen. Helicopters. Think on it for a while, and tell me when you have your answer. Then I'll let you in." Zen winked, and opened up the doors.
"'M just playing around Jen, come on in, and hurry. Don't want to cool off all of Katraina, do we?" He asked with a chuckle.
*Ah. That's how my trainer and his black Absol, Armageddon, are. Both coy little pranksters.* He said gruffly, turning his head and nodding to Zen. When he turned back, the attract she had used made him melt easily. *Oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to be rude." He apologized, before pouting as well. "Aw, you do? That's too bad." He whispered. "What's he like?"

Abiba giggled and hugged him. "It's okay. ANd I don't actually have a boyfriend yet, I was just kidding around." Pulling back, her tail twitched as her trainer stomped in, fuming slightly.
Abiba smiled once more before bouncing over and clinging to Jen's leg. Despite her bad moments, Abiba loved Jen to pieces and was glad to see her finally out of the heat.
Reaching down to pull Abiba off her leg, Jen glared at Zen. "HEY! They told me not to call them until we reached that village place! It's not my fault!" Cradling Abiba in one arm, she waved her other one to express her statements. "You want someone to complain to? Complain to them, NOT ME!"

Axel wanted to faint at the hug he had just recieved. And it was even better she had no boyfriend.
*Really?* He asked hopefully, wide eyed. But she had already returned to her trainer.
"Jen, Jen, Jen. Calm down, I was only playing around, m'kay? Settled down now? Good." Zen chuckled, picking up Axel, who had padded up behind him. "So, caught any new Pokemon since the last time we met? I see that little cutie right there." Zen asked politely, sitting down on the armchair, and patting the one next to him.

"Humph, ya right." Despite the statement, she grinned at Zen. "New pokemon, eh....not really actually." Shifting Abiba so she could perch on her shoulder, Jen reached up to scratch the pokemon on the head. "A few of my teammates evolved, like Ace. He's a Golbat now....and of course, i have Abi here. She just evolved too."
"What about you? Anything new happening with you?"

"Meh. I guess." Zen said, petting the Houndoor in his lap. "Koori evolved into a Glaceon. And This little Sentret was at my door about a month ago, so I took her in. And this little guy right here," Zen stroked Axel's head "was left by his parents' owner. And he's just so good looking, I had to keep him." He chuckled at the last part, slightly ashamed of his own greed in keeping Axel for himself.
"Oh, and Koori's become a battle freak. Drags me to the stadium at least once a week." He said with a tch. Battling wasn't his strong suite. He would rather enter his Pokemon in contests.
"Anything happen to you besides Pokemon?"

"Me? Nah....just hanging the city, exploring, pissing off Teddy whenever I get the chance to....." An evil smirk spread across her face at that last part. Oh how she LOVED making that girly guy red in the face. If only she could have given him a knuckle sandwich....too bad his pa was the richest guy around. She'd have black suits on her in a sec.
Walking over and crouching down, Jen took a closer look at the strange Houndour; to be more accurate: at the weird markings under his eyes and the bright crimson the skull was on it's head. Strange pokemon....
"Hey..Zen?" Jen glanced back up at her companion with a questioning expression. "What's this firey dudes' name...and where did ya find him?"

"Oh, him? That's Axel. Poor guy was just abandoned by his owner as an egg. So, I hatched him, and when he did hatch, I just had to keep him." Zen explained, giving Jen an odd smile. "Why do you ask? Does he fascinate you?" Zen laughed lightly, patting Axel's head.
"Teddy? I...don't think I've heard of him. But it sounds like you to be messing with someone." He chuckled.
