Quote: -Build Me Up- Credit Earned: 1-2
Quest Description Oh no, what's this? It seems our dear Adviser Fang has run out of space to put all his projects! But how does this effect you? Well, it seems as though you've been chosen to help the adviser but something! Why? Well, let's just say Herei and power tools...they were not meant to mix. Well, can you do it? Can you build Herei somewhere to put his project before he ruins then entire office? Alexander strolled down a quiet hallway, dotted with a few classrooms and personal offices. He had no where in particular to be really and he took his time walking the tiled hall, his arms swinging back and forth excessively. Sasha wasn't too sure why he was in the science building, especially since he was trying to keep a low profile around Weiyuan, but his brother had run off somewhere and he was bored. He hadn't seen Scyeth in awhile and it was adequate reason enough to muster some courage, see if he was doing anything interesting. Well watching paint dry was more interesting than what Sasha did most days so his friend wouldn't disappoint.
Still, he wasn't exactly sure where Scy's dorm room was located. Apparently not on this floor. So he kept walking towards the stairs to try the next floor and the next floor and the next if necessary.

Adviser Herei Fang had run out of space. He never thought it was possible. But it was done. He had finally used up his entire closet. It was full of projects, finished and not, supplies and miscellaneous items he'd forgotten he'd even owned. But that was beside the point. He had run out of space. And this was a problem. Where was he supposed to put his new stuff?
Certainly...
...well. He could always build something. He had some supplies from a long since abandoned project. Wood. Nail guns. Those power screwdrivers. Yeah. All well and good, perhaps, except for one thing. Herei was absolutely wretched with those blasted things. Well. Maybe if...maybe one of the professors would aid him? Yes, that sounded good. The Chinese stepped out of his room, about to head off in search of-
"Alexander! Could you lend me a hand with something?"
A student would work just as well.

Sasha's brown shoes stopped and turned with a sharp screech that ricocheted from wall to wall down the hallway. His placid face now brimmed with anxiety as he turned to face an unfamiliar teacher who knew him name. He sort of felt bad he didn't know this man's name, but something told him he would soon find out. He gradually closed the distance between them, each step seemingly slower than the other until they finally met.
"Uhh y-yeah sure..." He had done a little mouse catching a couple days before, this shouldn't be any harder right?

Herei smiled as the young student agreed, reaching over to put a reassuring hand on the boy's shoulder. "Excellent," he said, gently steering the teenager towards his office. If Sasha was quick, he'd catch the name on the plate outside the Adviser's door before he ushered them both inside. Only inside did he feel safe revealing his...trouble, so to speak.
On the floor were nails, screws, power tools, things Herei just didn't really know how to use. Why? Well, that was a good question. The Adviser wasn't really sure himself. He was such a clever sort (no, he wasn't being vain, it was a fact!), but for some reason, this just eluded him! "Are you any good with, uh, construction?" he asked, hopeful. A young boy should be good with his hands. Young boys were always building things.
He fixed Alexander with a pleasant gaze. "So you'll help me?"

Sasha shuffled in without notice, too preoccupied with eying the authoritative hand herding him into the office. He wasn't in trouble was he? Well, that wouldn't make sense, the teacher wouldn't have asked for 'help'... unless it was a way to coax him into punishment unknowingly!
But this man seemed to nice for that. "Uhmm..." The little boy gave the Adviser a blank stare as he scanned the littered room. "Well I've... like... fixed a door or two before...?" Hopefully, it was the same thing. "What... do I need to do?"

Fixed a door? Good enough. That meant he could probably handle simple things like hammers and screw drivers, all of which eluded Herei. The Adviser would be content to 'supervise' the situation. (Everything needed a little adult supervision, or something. It wouldn't do to be getting the students hurt.)
"Well, you see," Herei Fang started, sweeping sideways, "I've run out of places to put my...projects." Yes, we'll call them projects for now. "So I think I need a trunk or something to store the old projects. Or supples. Or something. But it would free up some space in my closet," Herei motioned to said Project Closet. Said Project Closet was nearly bursting at the seams. "I'm afraid I'm just not that good as this kind of thing. I have everything you'll need, though."

A trunk? "Oh... like a box with a liddy thingy on it?" That didn't sound too hard. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad after all. Sasha let a soft smile blossom over his face. Until he saw the closet. "Oh, wow..." That was ehm quite impressive. He sidled over beside professor Fang and leaned to his right to get the best look at the chaotic closet.
"Ooookay..." Alexander clapped his hands together to think. So he needed four sides, a bottom and a top lid with hingey things. He could do this. Maybe. His brother would know just how to do this. But he didn't have his brother, so there was no point in putting himself down and whining about it.
"Okay..." He said again, mainly to reassure himself if nothing else. "Okay! Uhhh okay..." The little boy wiggled his way over to the wood. There were all the same size which wasn't going to work. "Uhmm, sir? D-Do you have like a saw or.. something?"

Herei chuckled as Sasha caught sight of his closet. It was pretty alarming, wasn't it? Well, at least the boy was really going to do it. The Adviser thought it might be much harder to convince a student to do this for him. Hmm. He might have to find a way to reward the Russian youth later. A cup of tea? Everyone liked tea.
"Oh, ah, what? A saw?" Herei frowned. Those were sharp. And vicious. "Are you allowed to use those?" he asked suspiciously, motioning to the toothy tool sitting on his desk. He didn't even like touching them; a very good way to lose fingers with much blood and much pain.
"Oh, and do try and make the chest sturdy, would you?" A cheesy smile. "I, like you saw, have a lot of stuff."

Sasha looked back on the desk and then to the adviser. "Well... if I don't cut some of these boards it won't like fit all together right." His geometry class was finally paying off. "I'll ehmm... be careful..." The last thing he needed was to saw off a finger. He grabbed the handle of the saw gingerly, testing the weight of the tool. Oh lord this was going to be interesting.
"Okay well...." Trailing off into a soft whine, Alexander moved to the floor, placing two pieces of wood on top of each other. he wiggled the smooth pieces together to keep them even, placing the weight of his knee on one side. He just needed to shave a bit off these two and everything would be alright. Or did he need to cut all four? This was harder than it looked. He was hoping to just slap all the sides together and ta-dah! but the lid would be too short and the bottom would fall out and grrr!!
Oh well, no use getting frustrated so soon. Making up his mind, he began to saw two inches off the boards one hard jerky stroke at a time. And then the boards slipped and an awkward chunk flew off. "...... Oops..."

Herei watched Sasha work, very interested in what the young student was doing. He had absolutely know idea, after all, so anything the Russian did looked like a pretty intelligent decision. Well. At least until that awkward chunk flew off to the side. The Adviser blinked and peered at the piece of broken wood before focusing back on the student.
"...that wasn't supposed to happen, was it?" he mused, covering his face with a long, flowing sleeve as he smiled. This was amusing, if nothing else. "Do you need help? I don't really know what to do, but I can hold things steady for you, if that makes it easier," he offered. It looked like Sasha might be a little...small for the task assigned. Herei hoped this would turn out okay.

Sasha jerked the saw from the cut and looked back at the professor sheepishly. This wasn't going very well already. "Uhhh..." He let his words drag off as he tried to straighten the disheveled pieces of wood. "Y-Yeah... you are a lot stronger than me. It might... make this.... easier?" He hoped. He shuffled over to the side to give Adviser Fang some room. He helped him realign the boards with their hands and stuck the toothed saw back into the niche.
The saw slid though the wood much more smoothly, though still as difficult. He adjusted his grip and began again at a another angle and pumped like a madman.
And then he quickly stopped.
"Oh my God...." Alex went white as a sheet and froze. "Oh my God!!" He dropped the saw and almost gagged at the sight of blood. "I... I am so sorry! I--I didn't mean to cut--I am sorry!"

Adviser Fang was more than happy to let Sasha take the lead and tell him what to do. The fact he was a student and many years his junior really didn't occur to the Chinese man. In fact, he had began to hum quietly to himself, almost enjoying the moment when something ripped across his hand.
"Eh?"
Herei looked down as blood started spilling everywhere. "Oh my," he muttered, pulling his hand to his chest and pressing his robe over the cut. "I don't think what was supposed to happen," he mused, still smiling cheerfully as he turned to Sasha. "Are you going to be alright?" he asked, still smiling, though his eyes held a concerned look. "You're rather pale."
Never mind the robe was doing nothing to stop the bleeding.

Sasha was rather pale, actually he felt very faint and dizzy. "Wh--?! But! You're bleeding!!" The pristine stack boards were now coated with a nice crimson red that soaked into the grain avaricely. "Sir, we--!"
Letting the saw drop to the door, he scrambled to Herei's aid, sort of. More liek floundered closer. "You have to get that taken care of! We--Uhh the doctor! We have to get you to a doctor!" His robe was becoming stained with the blood and Sasha was sure he was going to faint soon. How could this man be so calm about this?! If he had his hand almost cut off he would be screaming down the hall or unconscious on the floor somewhere.

"Oh, that." Herei waved his hand before he realize he released the pressure and had start to bleed all over again. He quickly pushed the blood-soaked rag back to the wound and kept smiling. "It's nothing. Please, just relax." He would have liked to pat Sasha's shoulder, try to reassure him, but that would mean bleeding all over the boy. Given his current state, that would probably be a very bad idea.
"Here. I'll just go get a bandage. Wait here. And don't touch anything.
Herei could look positively evil if he tried.
*****
Herei returned a little while later, hand bandaged neatly. Said hand was tucked inside his stained robe (darn. This would require some serious cleaning.), a protective sort of gesture. He smiled to Sasha and waved his good hand. "See? Fine." The grin was in place as though the entire ordeal had never happened. "Now, let's get this finished, hmm? No more dilly-dallying," he instructed, as though the whole fiasco never even happened.

"Ah--!" Sasha froze in place at the man's suddenly stern and almost scary command. "O-Okay..." And so he didn't tough anything. He didn't even move an inch, he was so scared. He looked like a deer caught in the headlights as Fang left.
*****
The little boy hadn't moved from his spot, albeit the slight jump when Herei came back in. He watched the Adviser with a weak smile as he tried to comfort Alexander. It wasn't really working, but he couldn't "dilly-dally" anymore he supposed. "Kay... Uhmmm... " He looked back at his construction fiasco and picked up the saw with shaky hands. He finished the last cuts on the pair of boards, trying to ignore the now-brown stain across the wood. Perhaps it would give the trunk a bit of character?
"Where do you want it to sit? Over here?" He set one untouched board against the wall and grabbed another, setting a vertical board on top to nail it secure. He groped for a hammer and a nail and tap tap tap tap. Crack. Split.
Really? Alex sighed furiously glaring at the nice crack in his wood from the nail splitting the board in two. "Auughh!!!" Tossing the thick board away with a fury, he grabbed another and this time used a drill before screwing in the nails.
