Hakuna hadn't traveled from the Aikanaro'hini borders in a while. Oh, of course she'd gone far enough past to ensure a lack of threats...but never this far. She'd traveled the entire night, led by the little avian she trusted as much as she would trust a bloodthirsty little thief. Matata had led her to an area along the river she'd traveled up after meeting that...rather purple lioness she'd gotten into a tussle with. According to the magpie, a lioness and her five cubs had begun to play here regularly.
Of course...by the description, it wasn't just ANY lioness. No...It was her sister. A golden lioness with blood and shadow markings that swirled, but resembled Hakuna's own...and the same eyes the no-named demon bore. And since her sister had not seemed to come to her senses...It was time to ensure her nieces and nephews did not follow their mother's path.
She found a sufficient, sturdy tree to sleep in, just far enough away to ensure she wouldn't be discovered too early, but downwind so she could scent them coming. She was tired...it had been too long since she'd had such exertion.

"Come on, my little ones." Moto chuckled softly as she herded her cubs to the area they'd taken to playing in. The spot was wonderful...it had trees, a river running nearby, and there was still much the cubs had not yet explored. And the high grasses made it perfect for hunting practice. Once she had everyone accounted for, she settled down near the riverbank, watching her cubs play and practice and just be cubs...This was the life. Safe, no sister to worry her, with a family of her own. At times she still thought she was dreaming...and then one of her little ones or Serithi would nuzzle her and share their warmth and she knew that her life now was real. And nothing would take it away. She would fight to her last breath to ensure the safety of her little family...

Excited, Bavu couldn’t help but bounce about as he walked beside his mother, occasionally bumping into her front legs with his less-than-coordinated movements. Laughing lightly, he didn’t think much of it, just happy to be off playing once again. There was no need to apologize for something that, more than likely, wasn’t causing his mother any pain.
Annoyance, maybe, but not injury.
Once by the river, his new favorite place to be, he quickly ran off to join his siblings in play, stopping for a moment and looking back at his mother. Bavu just liked to be near her, probably one of the more affectionate cubs in that way. Careful to make sure the others weren’t watching, he snuck back over to Moto, swiftly rubbing his body against hers and giving a faint purr before leaping away with a giggle.
Before long he discovered a small mouse darting between the grasses, chasing it in circles in an attempt to hone his hunting skills. Skills that, as of yet, were nothing more than pouncing carelessly and hoping for the best.

"Ahhh, too hot, too hot, too hot..." Enzi murmured, scratching his back on the stiff blades of grass beneath him. In the stillness of the day, he found himself wondering what his father was doing. He knew his mother was nearby. As for his siblings...
A giggle entered his paranoid ears and he rolled over, ceasing his back-scratching process. He flicked his ears and stared around, quickly assessing his surroundings. There was Bavu. What was he doing, exactly? Trying to ignore his excited mind that was screaming to go play along, he watched his older brother for a little while longer. He appeared to be chasing something.
Wait...Chasing something. Was he stalking prey? 'Not without me, you're not.' Enzi told himself. He grinned and stood, making his way over to Bavu silently. Enzi was supposed to be the successor to all the amazing skills of hunting. He wasn't about to let his older (and more attractive, Enzi thought, though he never liked to admit it to himself) brother take it away. His streak of sibling rivalry was strong, especially since he was the youngest. Slowly, quietly, he pressed himself low to the ground, taking advantage of his brother's interest in whatever he was chasing. Bavu was getting close and closer to Enzi, and Enzi was getting closer and closer to Bavu...And then...Something hit Enzi's paw.
"WUAHGH!!" Enzi exclaimed, and ran straight into the direction he knew his mother was in.

Luta
Makhpiya Luta was the lion cubs name.. She'd been named red cloud, though she actually went by Luta..She hated how long her name was..It made life so hard. One time..a Gazelle calf even asked her to spell it, and she'd been dumbfounded! How was she supposed to live without knowing how to spell her own name?!
The day was hot, and Luta had been trying to keep herself entertained which was proving harder than she had once imagined. She had been trying to think of themost random things..and sadly, she was now out of ideas. She glanced up, her firey orbs glittering in the sunlight as she looked at Bavu, her brother, which seemed to be followed closely by Enzi, her other brother. Those two were always goofing off..Why didnt she take their lead? Maybe she'd be more occupied even if she was bored with them.
She looked towards her mother, smiling and trotting over to her. She'dleave the tree for mother..But no one else.
"Mother..." She pouted, curling her body between the lionesses front legs. "Im hungry.."
But the shade of the tree she was resting under kept her from approaching them..The branches were thin, as was the entire tree, but it was enough for the little girl to seek shelter of it.

Tara couldn't help but watch her brothers curiously. Bavu was stalking something or other in a rather...not very effective looking way, and Enzi was stalking Bavu. And then whatever Bavu had been stalking had run too close to Enzi and her youngest brother panicked. It made Tara snicker that her father's great heir was frightened by something so small...It was also a little worrying. But she stayed by the river, not minding that her tail was getting wet from being half in the waters. The gray cub frowned at her sister's rather loud complaint. They'd eaten that morning! And father had brought down a BIG kill...like always. Something strange caught her attention though...A strange little black and white bird watching them from not far off...

Hekima had stuck by his mother for the most part. He wasn't in the mood for playing and the hot sun above was making him tired and a tad thirsty. He decided to lazily make his way down by the river bed to drink, and hopefully back to Moto to hopefully nap next to her.
Napping was one of his favorite things, and so he plopped down, even though it was out in the sun, rolled over onto his back and sprawled out. Might as well get some sunbathing in while you napped, huh?
