The wind caused his mane to ripple out like a proud banner in the wind, snapping and asserting itself against the element, the curls bounced and tugged happily, wind was one of his favorite pleasure. He enjoyed the gentle and yet firm feel of it, used to love the currents in the sky during the harsher parts of winter, where delicate snowflakes where whipped around, but that season had long given up its hold on the land.
His giant frame weaved between the thick bodies of the trees as he made his way down to the river, now a days he took a path that seemed untouched by another, and that usually kept him away from the company he sometimes longed for. Bright lavender eyes scanned around him so far the only other life around him were of the small and chattering tree type, birds n' chipmunks along those lines of creatures.
Breaking free from the trees, he made his way towards the rippling cool waters of the river. He'd given himself quiet a thirst, he watched as the water danced against his ebony hooves, the faint golden sparkle to the crystal clear water kept his attention for sometime, as if he were in some sort of trance, and not just deep in thought. One usually got lost in their own thoughts living alone for so long on the mountains.

The Islagiatt contained many secrets but it's size was not something that could be hidden. Yei had often argued (most fondly) that within the herd were not only many treasures, but also much beauty. However, the choice of many of its members to remain on the slopes often meant that the world simply did not see these creatures for what they were worth. Her youngest charge was of no exception to this but, while Yei had always reminded her of her beauty she had also reminded her of what it was to be modest.
Thus, it was with a scretive smile and the expression of a daydreamer that this unicorn often presented herself. She was often unaware of exactly what lay around her, often savouring the creatures that chose to chatter to her (provided they were small)... The slopes were her home and as such she embraced all its beauty. However when it came to Soquili the matter changed considerably - with only her mentor and her children as her friends, her encounters with many soquili had been slim.
Shyness and an uncertainty often filled her mind as she found herself in large crowds and more often than not she simply observed. This was not something that occurred often on the mountains given how few soquili lived there. But, it had caused her to develop a rather unusual shyness - a curious creature so filled with questions and yet she could only bring herself to speak when spoken to...or when it was absolutely necessary.
Therefore it was unsurprising that as she picked her way down the slopes to quench her thirst that her serene expressions and quiet chatter were saved only for the forest's creatures. Upon breaching the edge of the forests, it fell quiet and she moved towards the mountain lake. Taking into account that there was one more there, she ensured she was aware of his presence but lowered her head to take a drink all the same.
It was a fine day but she was not about to interrupt the reverie he was in, she had her manners...

Even such delicate steps were caught on the ears of the older unicorn, his eyes shifted towards her as she lowered her head to drink.
Lifting his own head, the ends of his long mane danced upon the surface of the cool mountain waters, he watched silently. Taking in her stance and appearance, he glanced back from where she had come from. A brow arched but then lowered as he'd not explored past the river yet, many places for others to be. Maybe he wasnt as alone as he felt n' thought.
"Greetings stranger.." He finally said, vocals gruff n' deep though his lavender eyes held a kindness his voice didnt posses.

Manners always paid off, if one was patient than the stranger would speak or make a move to attempt to form some type of connection. While his outreaching 'hands' were only half extended, his words were enough to cause her ears to p***k and consequently she lifted her head to peer enquiringly at him. She remained in this position for a few moments, snorting the mane away from her eyes as she took his overall appearance in.
In comparison to her he was exceptionally tall, as a half breed she had been blessed with a small stature which wasn't something she minded. However, anything taller than her was rather imposing and took her just a little while to adjust to. Nevertheless she soon realised that the gruff voice was much the same as one of her friends and focusing on his eyes she realised he wasn't going to devour her.
Just as well really...she had things to do!
"Good morning," she offered pleasantly, a small smile clambering onto her equine limbs as she shifted into a more comfortable (and presentable position). Allowing her tail to brush idly against her leg she maintained her place by the river but otherwise made no attempts to bolt - she might have been quiet but she did like company!
"I hope you're well?"

Something about her, reminded him of someone else but he couldnt place a hoof on it. He watched her, rather rusty in the ways of greeting company, he tried to relax his stance to ensure she knew that she was in no danger, he wasnt one that went around and frightened young mares.
Benoni, was a large stallion he rarely met others that stood up with his own size. His father had been massive in height and Benoni had gained his height from him, though it was mild compared as his mother had been a small delicate mare whom his sister took after.
His thoughts lingered on his missing sister, only to be drawn back to the present by the sound of the young mares voice, it was refreshing to his ears..
"Aye, I am well this fine morning. I hope your fairing well.." He watched her now, a little more welcoming in his gazes.

She was tiny, most unlike the majority of Unicorns who were renowned for their tall stature. This wasn't to say she was embarassed by her small size though, she had fully embraced and accepted it. Loved regardless of her appearance, she had been raised in such a diverse herd that all her unique quirks were accepted. So she couldn't fly, she couldn't heal as well as others and she wasn't as 'beautiful' as some of the creatures that existed in this world but still... She was herself and that was all that mattered to her.
Nevertheless as he grew accustoemd to her presence she offered a small smile and bowed her head in response to his words. Never a mare to interrupt, she was comfortable in permitting him to speak further. It was easier for her to stand back and watch, it gave her the opportunity to assess a creature and to draw conclusions. That and the less she had to talk the better; given that her shyness often made her paranoid of misunderstandings and potential arguments.
"I am as well as one can be at this hour," she confirmed after she was certain he had finished, the small smile lining her equine lips. "A little early to confirm how well my day is going but I..." she hesitated somewhat, unsure of whether or not she was speaking too much. That being said, it was rude to stop midsentence and regardless of the length of her phrase she would need to complete it. After that she could be quiet again, right?
"I remain optimistic," she finished.

"Ah, thats a rather pleasant way to view things. More open to the changing ways of life..nothing ever really goes as planned..specially with a land full of different characters." Benoni blinked at himself, he wasnt usually one to ramble on like that. He arched a brow, looking over her once more, yes she did remind him of someone..much younger though. Maybe, she knew Yei..
He lowered his head, and took a good long drink of the cool water. It was icy and could chill ones bones easily but it was a very refreshing drink to intake on a warm morning. He enjoyed watching others, but at the same time he liked to find good conversation, in depth talks, usually let another side of others out that they didnt notice slipping out as they chattered on.
But this mare, she was silent in her ways. She didnt give to much, besides she was intelligent, which for many would be enough. But for Benoni, it was not enough, everyone held a larger story..and what was hers? He looked to her horn, she carried unicorn blood within her veins, but the lack of tail like his own made him wonder if she was a half breed, or a different breed of unicorn. These days one could never truly tell...

Farsiris' origins had never been a secret to her. Her mother had left her in Yei Umeko's capable care and had indicated that she simply couldn't cope. The firey mare had remained sympathetic and had consequently raised Farsiris as one of her own. However, when the time had come her 'mother' had educated her to her true origins and the nature of her acceptance into the Islagiatt herd. At first it had come as a surprise to the tender mare, but she had grown to understand that what her real mother had done was truly out of love.
...She had recognised that she couldn't cope.
Alas, Farsiris was indeed a halfbreed and though she failed to see the significance in this there were times when others looked upon her with distaste. Admittedly neither parent had possessed a lion tail, but her father hadn't been a unicorn either. She wasn't afraid of her differences and her apparent weaknesses. She knew that her healing skills were not as precise or as potent as a pure bred but that didn't stop her from trying to help either...
Nevertheless, as the stallion spoke to her again she smiled politely in reference to his compliment. She had been raised well and Yei had made no secret of the flighty nature of the spirits. A day may start poorly and end pleasantly, there was no way to tell when a soquili woke up in the morning. "I find it is better to adapt to situations and changing circumstances as they occur," she confessed after a few moments, adjusting her weight from one hoof to the other.
"You can only plan so much before the spirits decide that they don't want to play the same game anymore. My mother taught me as much."

Benoni's own up bringing had started off beautifully, but had changed dramatically as he grew older..A murderous past he held, very much secret to those around him, only those who'd been there, and his ex-mate knew the events of that fateful day, the day he'd lost it all..He shook his head, he'd lost everything he held dearest to his heart twice in his lifetime..Surely the spirits were done with that game.
The unicorn stallion didnt hold an opinion of one based on their breed, breed meant nothing. It was the others personality, their beliefs of this life and the next that made them truely special. He wasnt one to judge another on looks, though plenty held him in higher regards than he felt he deserved. He'd never understand that, but he wasnt one to shatter anothers beliefs.
He continued to watch her, she held a very open, and interesting look on life...
"The only things in truth, you can count on is life and death..everything else is up to chance, to the fickle ways of the spirits..Its easier to roll with things, than have a set plan destroyed..." His tail flicked behind him.
"Excuse my horrid manners, I am Benoni.." He bowed his head to her, it was something he rarely did these days but he felt she'd yearned enough of his respect already that she deserved a proper greeting.

Farsiris was mildly taken aback by his bow, she was unaccustomed to such greetings given the casual nature of her herd. Everyone was so familiar with each other that a simple hello, a nod or a smile were sufficient greeting. In a manner of speaking she had forgotten how to address a stranger, or at least it appeared that she only recalled such things when she was outside of herd lands. Nevertheless it wasn't long before she remembered and soon gave a slight bow herself, a move she found just a little foreign - unfortunately she couldn't see a reason for his apology given she hadn't introduced herself either.
"I am known as Farsiris," she offered at last, a small smile lining her lips as she readjusted her weight and regained her composure. Now comfortable with her stance, she tilted her head to the side and dismissed his apology. "As to excusing you for a lack of manners, apologies aren't necessary when the other creature does the same thing as you - you know?" She had never been a creature to question another's manners, she was aware that depending on upbringing some didn't have any and as such she let it slide. This wasn't to say she didn't appreciate it when they demonstrated such manners though...
Nevertheless he soon switched subjects and returned to the issue of spirits. His statement was really quite morbid and for a short while she was mildly taken aback by such an observation. She knew it was true, but she couldn't fathom why one would be so plain about such subjects. A part of her wondered if perhaps something wasn't quite as it seemed in relation to this particular stallion but again, it was not her place to pry.
"That is why I choose not to make plans for the day, I enjoy each moment and event as it comes. One cannot be set up for disappointment by the spirits if they do not assume too much..."
