OK, I've heard some rumors about Michael Waltrip Racing in 2009. Napa and UPS are leaving, and I heard that Michael might fold or sell the team. I just doubt he wants to loose it. Has anyone else heard about MWR's future?

Has anyone else heard about MWR's future? No but that would be sad if he loses it cause if whoever buys it doesn't let him race(which they more than likely would) I don't know if anybody else would give him a ride. And the UPS is supposedly going to Clint Bowyer. That leaves Jack Daniels open if they still want to participate in Nascar. And I'm sure he could find sponsors if that is all that is needed.

I could see this easily happening. All TOYOTAS of course. Ganassi shut down one team, and MWR would need to shut down one team, the 00 or 44, and Waltrip drives 55.

My opinion goes like this.
Ganassi at this point has lost a lot of respect from everyone because they fired a perfectly good driver (Stremme) in favor of a guy who had success in a completly different series, and every time they stuck him behind the wheel of a NASCAR before this season, he ******** up. Now the car he drove is gone. Sorenson isn't driving up to his potential because it's shitty equipment, and Montoya seems to be getting into every wreck each week.
MWR is a victim of circumstance. They started the three car team in a year when the COT was gonna run half the races and probably got screwed in transition between races. Jarrett's provisionals became almost useless when as soon as he could actually use it, NASCAR cut him back to six per season. This year they're not running well enough to keep sponsors and Stewart Haas Racing, I think will do better than them next year with Stewart and possibly Newman behind the wheel for that team.
As I see it, if these two organizations were to work together to get back in a place where they're financially comfortable, they're only option is to merge into a 3 car team with the 55, the 42, and the 44 under Toyota's banner. Maybe they can even sell a team off to Evernham or Penske.
To this I add, why the hell are teams still driving Dodges? Dodge is probably the worst of the big 3 and they don't exactly have their NASCAR operation as one of they're priorities.

Dodge is completely useless, I hate them also. Yes I would love for them to bring back Pontiac, but we all know that won't happen because it is GM that owns them and they only want Chevrolet. It would be smart if Ganassi merged with MWR and kept the 41, 42, 44, 55, all TOYOTA. Let McDowell go to Penske, I say. I'm not sure if a SHR car will make the chase next year, but if it can be pulled off, it will be Stewart. Once again, look at the cars, motors and Technology that they have over there. It IS possible for both cars to make it obviously. But question
