My name is Magz, and I've been pudgy all my life. I've always been a fairly inactive person, I prefer playing games on the computer, reading, writing, and crafting as hobbies, rather than active things like sports. I do enjoy walking, though, especially with my boyfriend, Ian, and my dog, Daisy.
I work in a retail pet store. I'm on my feet a large portion of the day, but it's mostly standing around. I am lucky in that I walk to work most days, so that's about an hour of guaranteed walking 3x per week.
I want to lose weight because I want to live a healthier lifestyle. I'm at a point in my life where I want to feel comfortable being active around my friends. I want to be able to feel comfortable in a bathing suit so i can go to the beach in the summer. I'm also worried about my long term health. I figure now (at 21) is a better time for me to change my habits than when I'm 45 or 60 and I'm staring down a heart attack. I eventually want to have kids, and I want to be able to go outside and play with them. That kind of thing.

Current Weight: 197 Current BMI: 34.9
Goal Weight: 130 Goal BMI: 23.0
Total Amount to Lose: 67 lbs. Time Goal: 1 year Montly Goal: 4-6 lbs
How I Plan to Lose Weight and Keep it Off:
-Changing my eating habits: - Cut out "junk food" (Fast food, chips, bad snacks, candy" - Stop drinking sugary drinks at work, and replace with water. - Eat Healthier proteins (More fish and white-meat chicken) - Eat more veggies on a daily basis. -Change my inactive lifestyle - Walk at least 30 minutes per day. - Go to the Gym with my boyfriend 2x per week.

July 9/08 Breakfast: 2 poached eggs, 1 slice multi-grain bread, 1/2 cup of apple juice. Lunch: Maple Dip Donut sweatdrop , grilled chicken salad (~12 grams of fat), sm. Fresca. Dinner: AYCE Sushi (I don't want to talk about it). Exercise: 15-20min light walking.
So, not off to a great start. I'm writing everything down anyways so I have a record of my improvement. Usually I'd just omit things that I know will slow down my success (ie: that donut), but if I'm going to make a serious effort about this, I need to be honest with myself.

July 10/08 Breakfast: Multigrain toast with jam, 1/2c apple juice "Lunch": 3 sm. pork sausage, 2 fried eggs, 2 pieces buttered toast, 1c tea (with 2tsp milk and sugar each) Snack: Ritz crackers - probably twice the amount I should have, probably around 15g of fat.
