"What poor, unfortunate fool has sense to be washed in the skies' black tears?"
A sleek, dark, koi-like Winiko padded through the rain in search of shelter. A red and black cow familiar floated behind, slowed by the downpour. The koi-demon's blood-stained scales did not wash off from the fall of water. His gray, webbed tail swished with every step as his joints creaked from the chilling rain. Head hung low, the dark poet's mane was plastered to his neck. "For what darkened depths do we seek just to be from the heavens' misery?" The Winiko glanced up as the sight of a familiar dwelling came into veiw. Water rolled off easily from his scales as he stepped under the building's awning. Pushing the door open with a sodden claw, Shade allowed his blood-red gaze to roam accross the room where demons often gathered. Seemingly empty, the poet stepped into the dim-litted area, wondering if anyone had been inside that particular day.

Blackheart had been sitting in the room that Shade had now walked into. She didn't really feel like leaveing and now seeing the wet start of the other winkio she was glad she hadn't.
Blackheart looked over at the male with a nod of her head. She made to movement towards him. She was just seeing what it was he was going to do.

Closing the door behind him, Shade examined the demoness that stood before him. Seeing as she was more curious than threatened, he gave a curt nod of his head. "Mistress of hearts from a shadowed soul," he greeted, refering to her pelt as he normally would to anyone else. "I am sorry if I intruded upon you. I was merely looking for shelter from the rain..." he murmured apologetically.
The small, cow-like familar known as Corwin shook off the moisture from it's pelt, sending drops of water in different directions in the process. After releiveing it's fur from the damp, it boldly floated to Blackheart, red eyes blinking at her curiously.

Blackheart didn't comment to the male about what he said. Instead she looked at the cow familar. "What is that thing there? I have never seen one before." Which was the truth. She didn't have one of her own and hadn't really been around others to have seen one. Blackheart found the floating creature odd. Why was it there and what was it for?

"You'll have to pardon Corwin..." Shade began to say until the demoness inquired about the familiar. "That? It is a familiar. They are used for company to some and play-things for others." he murmured. "Though each one looks different, they all come from summoning orbs..." He watched silently as the cow familiar floated around the female Winiko in awe.
Corwin's eyes widened at being acknowledged. Most demons didn't seem to mind another's familar. The cow bobbed up and down before Blackheart.

"I see. You call it Crowin? My name is Blackheart." She told the two not like it mattered what her name was or what their names were. Blackheart wondered more about these 'familars'. Would she get one? Would she want one? It would just leave her in the end.

Shade gave a small nod. "Yes, the name is English for The Raven, which happens to be a favorite poem of mine, written by..." he stopped, realising he must have been rambling. The demoness probably didn't care for his interests anyway. "Well met, Blackheart," he murmured with a dip of his head. "I am Shade." He noted how she seemed to be interested on the topics of familiars. "They follow a demon almost anywhere they go. You could say they are bound to us as we are bound to a human..."
After floating around the demoness, Corwin came to an abrupt stop. Cooing softly at the introduction of her name, the familiar rested itself atop Blackheart's head.
Shade tilted his head to the side as Corwin seemed to be fond of Blackheart. He wasn't sure why; the cow familiar was usually quiet and solitary. Perhaps it was happy for being acknowledged after usually being ignored by others? Shade froze as Corwin rested atop of Blackheart's head. Though the demoness didn't seem like the cruel, cold-hearted type that would tear apart the familiar, he didn't know how she was with personal space.

Blackheart nodded at his name. "After a Raven? Though, it looks more like a cow." She had heard of cows. Though, they normally were bigger she heard.
When the familar sat on her head she didn't move. It was on odd feeling. Nothing had tried to touch her a long while. Blackheart wasn't sure what to do. She didn't feel like hurting it.

"He was named more after the poem than his appearance..." Shade noted. He watched Blackeart's reaction to the cow. "Corwin won't hurt you," he murmured, padding away from the door and towards the two, he sat down before the demoness. "He's never done that before though... He must like you."
Corwin blinked down at Blackheart.

((I was able to snag a familar for Blackheart. I think I'll add it into the rp. biggrin ))
Blackheart didn't move but then saw another one. "Well, that's good for him. I see one more. Do you have two?" She was being kind which was off for her. Blackheart liked info.
The small familar was blue and purple. It seemed attracted to the emo girl and the other familar. It floated nearby.

(( Cool! I love his colors x3 ))
Shade blinked curiously at the blue-purple familiar. It looked very different from Corwin; It's body was smaller, but it sported a pair of wings, horns, and a devious smile. "No, a demon usually only has one familiar. Therfore, that blue one you see is not mine." He examined it carefully before looking around to see if there had been another Winiko in the room. "A familiar does not stray far from it's bonded demon." he murmured softly before concluding. "Perhaps your human has bonded it to you and it has come here to find you...?" he wondered. It seemed like a likely solution.
Corwin made sort of a small 'moo' sound at the other familiar, curious too where it came from.

Blackheart nodded. What the other Wini said made sense. "I'm guessing you are correct. Not only do I have a useless human but now a useless...thing." She looked to his with evil eyes. She didn't want anything bonded to her.
The familar flapped his wings to agree with Shade. He then winked to the 'moo' of the other.

Shade shrugged. "The familiars can be used for a variety of things to assist you. Beside giving me company, Corwin's curious nature often helps me find inspiration for poetry." He examined a blood-stained paw before his dark-red eyes turned back on Blackheart. "What you decide to do with it is up to you." He murmured looking over the blue-purple familar once again. "Shall you decide to choose a name for it?"
Corwin floated over to the devious-looking familiar and blinked at it's wink-gesture. "Moo?"

"Really? So, I can use it how I want? I do like the sound of that." Blackheart thought of all the tasks this familar could do. Company? Bah, that didn't matter to her. Though, deep down the idea of someone that could never leave her or break her heart was nice.
"Name? Oh, well how about Thing?" She asked Shade, Corwin and Thing. Thing didn't seem to mind it.

Shade nodded slowly, wrapping his webbed tail around his paws. "Thing is a fine name. I sure they appreciate any title as long as they are given one." He watched the two familiars for a moment. "I never had any friends, so I always treated Corwin as my equal. But how you act towards Thing is, once again, up to you."
Although he had been mainly watching the two small familiars, his third eye was set on Blackheart. "I don't think I've seen you around before... are you relatively new here?"
