Oh gosh that sounds horrible! I'm in my ballet intensive, and I'm placed in the level two ballet (only 2 levels) but I'm pretty much the worst one there too. In modern class each person was going to have a solo, and so the teacher asked what I was the best at. I was blanking and quite frankly the teacher kind of intimidated me and being the shy person I am all that came out was "I don't know..." and she was like "OH you don't know?" and moved on. Other people got jumps and turns and all kind of cool stuff and when she came back to me, she told me I was to run around in a circle and sit back down in my spot. I was so disappointed in myself and I was so embarrassed when I had to do the solo because it looked so stupid compared to all the other ones. Now I'll never tell a teacher "I don't know" again! I'm sure everything will work out eventually, even if they give you something easy and seems too simple and inferior to other people, just do it the best you can do and make it wonderful. Keep us posted on what happens!
i'm sorry i never came back to update while i was there.
well after all the trouble, i decided i wanted to go back to level 5 so that i could take the pointe classes and try to improve.
the other classes were bellow my level, but they were more enjoyable because i was able to go back to the basics and readjust myself/fix my alignment. i also had a much better time being with my younger friends from my home studio.
i had a lot of fun while i was there and met many wonderful and impressive people. surprisingly enough i made a few friends (i'm not too wonderful with socializing).
i had more classes wit mr. espinosa (the teacher i just couldn't please) and really enjoyed them. turns out he's a really wonderful person/teacher. he's just a perfectionist when it comes to rehearsals.
at the end of my two weeks, i wasn't ready to leave. it was so much fun.
