I have been reading lots of posts around the guild, and a lot of them are full of icons, games, and other things that describe things that don't really happen in the books (OR MOVIES). Now, in my opinion, this is fine. I love these threads. But sometimes I wish that there was one thread to ONLY talk about things that happen in the books (or, occasionally the movies). So, this is it: the haven within the haven. Come here anytime you wish to have a discussion about what ACTUALLY HAPPENED in the books. I don't mind "I wonder what happened to ____?" or UK vs US kind of discussions, but please just keep it realistic. Thank you! (Please forgive me if this already exists!)

Please Remember:

This isn't a contest to see who knows the most about Harry Potter.

As far as I know, Dumbledore is the only character who was ACTUALLY gay. This means:
Draco and Harry were never a couple.
Sirius and Remus were never a couple.
Luna and Ginny were never a couple.
Voldemort and Harry were DEFINITELY never a couple!
Etc.

Just keep it about what actually happened in the books, not the fanfiction.
Thanks!

Well, I'm still annoyed that Sirius got killed off. I love him!

But in the final book, I guess it was fitting for Remus and Wormtail to die, too, so that all the Marauders were gone... I hope James and the others are kicking Wormtails butt in the afterlife...

But still, why? WHY DID SHE KILL HIM????!!!!!

Well I think that Sirius couldnt've been alive for the last book, it would've ruined it. I hate that he died, too, but I loved the last book, so I guess it's acceptable. Or amost acceptable.

Nothing makes the death of Padfoot acceptable. Nor is the death of Moony and Tonks after they just had a child, which, by the way, only happened because Jo wanted to kill a parent and didn't want to get rid of Arthur! scream

True, true. But at least it worked out in the end!

But it was sad!

I cried when when Dobby died... that's what pushed me over edge when I was reading DH...

I cried pretty much at every death in the Deathly Hallows.

I hated that Dobby had to die after doing soo much for Harry and saving them. And then I cried even harder when Harry decided to actually bury Dobby without using magic.

But these books would be extremely boring if no one died or there was no sadness.

She didn't just kill off Tonks and Remus because she needed to kill a parent. She didn't have to kill a parent. She could've killed Lucius, or even Uncle Vernon.

I think she may have set that up that Teddy's life is sort of starting out like Harry's did. Both his parents are dead and is being raised by someone else. Although it has it's differences they are also very similar.

I wonder if she would write a story about his life?

But since this is about things that have actually happened.. ^ That will not count lol razz

I don't mind talking about future book possibilities. What would bug me are acting like The Albus Severus Series is already half written.

It WAS really sad when Harry dug the grave with his bare hands. crying I loved that he did it, though. I also agree on your theory to have Ted's life like Harry's, but it was great that Ted had a better life.

^ Exactly why I said there are many differences. Such as, the worst wizard anyone could ever imagine is not after his life lol, and he's not living in a cupboard either. He lucked out razz

At first I want to say that this is a really good topic!^^

I think it is so sad that Snape died. I mean he was so brave and he did so much for the Order and for Harry and during all the books nodody liked him. Okay, they don't have to like him but well they never appreciated what he did and they will never do, or at least he will never know if they do because he died and he never received something for all his deeds.
Of course this is not about "I only do this and that if I can receive something afterwards" but I just think Snape deserved some acceptance etc...

I also think that Snape deserves some credit. I really didn't like him through the first 6 books and 1/2 through the 7th. I always thought that he was out for himself and just played along with both Voldemort and Dumbledore, but to me he seemed to lean more to Voldemort. Now, after reading the 7th book, my mind has completely changed about him and that is why I think he should get some kind of credit.

I cried also when Dobby and Hedwig died. I loved them both very much and I didn't see much of a reason for them to die. I am sure that J.K has a very good explanation as to why they died, but I just don't see it.

Does anyone else know why they were both killed??

I think it's hard to tell why they died, but I think if Dobby had not died, he would hav told Harry that Aberforth had sent him an Rowling didn't want the reader to know until the end, I guess.

Actually guys, I have a question, there is something in book 7 I don't understand.
In the first chapter Snape tells Voldemort that the new date when Harry will be removed from Privet Drive and then Voldemort says: "And this information comes..." And Snapes says: "from the source we discussed."
But, maybe I am overseeing something obvious, but what is the source they discussed???

Snape deserves some credit!!! I really admire him in some way^^
