((Trigun Crew: Vash, Wolfwood, Milly, and Meryl. Knives would crash the party and kill us all. >: We still love you, Knives! ))

"You mean no one goes there anymore?"
"Yeehup. Ever since there was that big light a year ago, nobody's been that way since. Most that go there don't come back, and those that do swear they've seen demons."
"And do they?"
"Heck no. I've written it down as to havin' too much drink."
"Is there anything else you can tell us?"
"Hmm..." The bartender paused, carefully setting down the glass mug. He leaned close to her, and confided in a low voice, "To be honest, the flash of light reminded me of the Fifth Moon Incident. Same kind of light, 'sept it didn't go up. Thank God it didn't, I wouldn't know what it would've done to the sun."
"Thank you. C'mon Milly! I know where we he is now."
"Ah! You wouldn't be wanting to go there, miss!"
That warning, how fast he spoke it... She smiled, ignoring the sharp glances from the rest of the early-drinkers. "If that's where he is," she began, "That's where we need to be. It's our job to make sure that idiot doesn't do anything stupid again."

Meryl lie dazed upon the ground, wondering exactly what she had gotten herself into. No, no, that wasn't it -- What had Vash gotten them into?! She was sure of it, she knew he was here... somewhere. She sat up, slowly shaking her head. "Milly?" She called out, slowly rising to her feet. "MILLY! Where are -" she caught herself, her ears pinning to the back of her head, her lips opening to let the soft ending fall out, nearly lost under the call of birds overhead, "...we?"

She stared, baffled into silence at the trees before her. They were huge! And all this grass! But... this didn't feel like Little Arcadia. In this respect, she was right. She had yet to see the full extent that chasing after the Humanoid Typhoon had given them, however. All she had to do now was look down and see how much closer the grass was, and how crisper the air tasted. The air was filled with water, with life that was beginning to make Meryl feel dizzy after years of growing up in a harsh, dust-choking desert.

"No idea ma'am!" Milly called back as she rolled over and stood, shaking herself out. It was an odd feeling... but it seemed whatever had happened to them had also instilled a sense of familiarity with their forms, "It's so pretty!" Patting the grass she mused about the wealth that was present here, "Someone has a large Plant, that's for sure."

Taking their surroundings in stride, Milly came up behind Meryl and looked her over, "Are you alright ma'am you need something to drink? There's some just over there." She pointed off towards the glittering lake much like that one Vash had temporarily created. "I wonder if someone's well broke again..."

"Yeah..." Meryl agreed softly, tilting her head to look up. "They're so big! I'm surprised it's still here!" She turned her attention to Milly, opening her mouth to reply before closing it again. "N... no," she managed, "But... Milly? I think something took your clothes." She slowly began to back away from her, unaware of her own transformation.

When the lake was pointed out, her gaze flickered over there. "I... I think that's been like that, Milly," she answered, "Unless... where did the sand go? And what is that creature?!"

Milly shook her head, ears perking, "My clothes? Did they take our luggage?" She turned to look and then froze, eyes going wide as Meryl fairly yelled, "What creature? Where!?"

Spining to look behind her, Milly turned her head from side to side and then frowned, tails flicking in confusion, "Ah... ma'am, is it possible to get water stroke? I think you might be suffering from it. There's no creature.... and I like the grass. Feels nice~"

This was something she'd definitely have to write home about. Vash seemed to lead them to the most interesting of places. And, at one time, it had been both Wolfwood and Vash. She frowned slightly - Milly missed them both. Vash was such a nice person and Wolfwood had been so driven before he'd fallen. "You think he's here? I don't remember finding him in an forested areas before...." Usually, they'd come across the humanoid typhoon in the middle of nowhere, holed up with people and doing his part while laying low - not in places like this.

"Right there! It's right there!" She yelled, rearing up onto her hind legs and moving her arms toward her Derringer pistols, ready to --

She fell over onto her side, her arms not quite bending how she wanted them to. In fact, they were in front of her, and by the look of how they ended in paws and not hands... She stood up and carefully looked herself over, then towards her back and flicked her three tails. Now there was something new.

"Milly," she began with a voice promising trouble. Her eyes seemed to darken akin to a pending storm, and there was something about the short kitsu that could easy explode into something nastier than a level three disaster. "We are going to track down Vash right now and demand an explanation for all this! Every time something happens he's behind it! He HAS to be here, Milly! I'm sure of it! Come on!" She began walking forward, her movement taking on something like a march that had, over time, developed into her own Determined Stride that meant that things better get out of her way, or her white boots will stomp all over them. "Let's check out that lake -- it's out of place, and chances are we'll find him happily stuffing his face with donuts without a care in the world. That idiot!"

Milly snapped to attention, following Meryl's march with her eyes for a moment as she listened to the game plan. Nodding seriously, she fell in behind the other and matched her step quite easily - Milly was one of the few people who almost matched Vash in size, "Yes ma'am!"

She watched the lake as it came into view and shook her head, "It doesn't seem out of place.... don't gardens like this normally have ponds ma'am?" Milly tilted her head, "Maybe we should go ask at that home. They might know where and out of place lake is."

Despite her height, Meryl was an authoritative figure -- bushes and other foliage barely stood a chance as she marched through them, growling threats that would never be fulfilled at a certain gunslinger in red. It didn't matter to Meryl that whoever looked upon them at that moment would sooner see a kitsu with her daughter out for a stroll, with the "daughter" looking quite sulky and upset about something. Rather it mattered more that she went to the heart of the matter as quickly as possible.

When the lake came into view, Meryl shook her head. "Not this big," she confessed, "Remember Little Arcadia? They had a lake, somewhat like what happened when we first met Vash... remember?" Her gaze softened as her voice took on a more wistful tone, "We took up that bodyguard job. Who knew that Vash would willingly act as an impostor of himself?"

She shook herself free of her memories. "Eh? What ho- oh. Let's try it. Good eyes, Milly!" She took up her stride again, making a bee-line towards the house. "That's strange... I've never seen a home made out of that material before," she confessed, used to the simple clay buildings back home. Who knew you could make a place out of logs?

"True.... But there's got to be awful lot in the ground for it to be sitting on top like this. It hasn't been absorbed back into the soil yet." It seemed to her that it was a normal thing... especially with how large the trees were. Normally bushes were small and stunted, often prickly not huge and verdant like these. Still she kept her mouth shut - Meryl was probably right, after all.

"He was funny. And that lady was really nice." She held up a paw and cocked it, miming Vash's motion during that particular escapade.

"Wood? They must be rich. Wood is really expensive... they probably own this land too. I wonder where they keep the GeoPlant." Glancing around? she hoped to spot the iconic lightbulb-shaped contraption that was the lifeblood of their world. Without those mysterious machines, plant life and water would be next to impossible to find.

Meanwhile, a certain blonde, red-clad kitsu was glaring at Wolfwood. He was hungry darn it! And they took turns cooking. By his estimations, it was the priest's turn. Wolfwood may have cooked lunch yesterday too but he'd cooked breakfast! He always cooked breakfast so that meant Wolfwood always cooked lunch.

With a sigh, Vash flopped on the table and nosed the box of donuts, "It's your turn. I'm dying of starvation... isn't a holy man like yourself supposed feed to the hungry and tend the injured?" Blue-green eyes fixed on Wolfwood, a light of mischief dancing there.

Meryl chewed on her lip for a moment and thought. "Maybe... there's something keeping the water from going back in? Ah! This isn't the time, Milly!" She snapped, then shook her head from side to side before sighing. "I'm sorry, Milly. This place is just so... different. I don't think we'll find a GeoPlant around... at least not in the open."

She slowed her pace as they neared the house, looking it up and down. "For rich people, they don't seem to have decorated that much... Or at least, they don't show it."

Wolfwood glared right back at the red gunslinger, an unlit cigarette hanging from his mouth. He had cooked lunch and dinner yesterday, nevermind the fact that dinner yesterday was a couple bottles of the good stuff, but still! He at least uncorked the bottles!

The priest drew himself up and spread his wings slightly in an attempt to give him an impressive (if imposing) gargoyle-like posture. "Give a man a fish, and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish, and he eats for a life time." He reared up and slammed his paws on the table, shedding all former dignity of a priest. "You can't have donuts for lunch! That's a breakfast food, and that's the only instant, open-and-serve thing left in here! Any by tomorrow, it's going to be gone -- what're we supposed to do now, hm? Besides," he added, settling down again, "I can only feed the hungry if I have the charity of good-natured souls to give me food to share, y'know?"
