Due to the popularity of sparring lately the training room seems to have a waiting list to use its facilities.

So you're getting your own forum for it. This means several fights can be conducted at any one time. Each character can be involved in as many fights as they wish at a time as we shall consider these not actually happening simultaneously.

As with the original thread, you may consider any events that happen here as canon or not. But unlike the original thread you actually now have several choices of location:

surprised ne: The Training Room
The training room is the same room that sits at the very bottom of the Library's underground system. As such it has the same benefits and the same problems. One addition is a small holographic system, so that you may appear to be elsewhere and so that things can be changed on the fly. it minimises damage as well.

The training area is a large, flat surfaced room that rivals the size of the main library when it comes to floorspace. It is stocked with a full range of exercise and sports equipment though most of it is kept to the sides or in the massive storage cupboard. Those who step into the storage will find everything organised and easy to find. It takes just a matter of moments to convert the empty training hall into an area suited for almost any sport.

A small swimming pool is set into the floor near the bottom end of the hall. It's kept clean at all times by the impressive technology of the Library and can be adjusted to suit any preferred temperature from refreshingly cool to relaxingly warm. Down even further there is a hottub and a sauna.

:two: The Garden
The roof garden can be used for battles, but there are many restrictions here. You may be in the public eye and there are certain clan members who would be furious if you ruined the flowerbeds. The peach tree in particular is off limits. As such, this space is best used for fistfights and basic martial arts practise. try to keep powers at a minimum please.

The garden is as large as the surface of the Library roof will allow. it is partially shielded from view of the streets below by a clever addition of a decorative facade at the front and careful angling elsewhere. Those on the roof can see down if they go to the edge however.

The main space is taken up with lawn, soft and luscious. There is a small peach tree near the back of the lawn, near to a gazebo that has been added for the convenience of those who dislike the sun. A swing seat has been fitted in here. the rest of the space is decorative flowerbeds, a couple of vegetable and herb gardens and most curiously, hidden away, there is a rabbit hutch complete with population of fluffy bunnies. These were originally not pets, but food. now they help teach the younger members responsibility.

:three: The Shinigami Arena
This is a unique space, hidden away from the public and perhaps not even in the realm of Gaia. Guyy isn't sure. All he knows it he likes it. A vast oval arena sits nestled away from the general public. A trick of illusions, the arena does not truly exist. As such it can be manipulated to suit the occupants whenever they wish.

The staging area is sunk low, surrounded by tiers of comfortable seats from which others can view the entertainment. The flooring is soft and almost springy, similar to canvas, yet sturdy and firm as though made from the ground itself.

Here Shinigami Clan members can come to watch or participate in battles. Challenges between any two (or more!) Clan members can be met here, using any of their characters (Shinigami related or not). Those not participating are invited to come watch, cheer from the stands, make bets, buy popcorn and other snacks and generally make a nuisance of themselves in the stands.

As an added bonus spectators can modify the arena on a whim, thanks to the unique illusionary nature of the setting. All spectators have to do is tap their new design into the convenient consoles dotted around the seating area. Want to make things harder for the fighters? Just call up a forest on the area floor! Add water traps, floating platforms, weapons, attack bots or anything you can imagine!

Other venues may be added by request, or as I come up with them.
If you wish to spar elsewhere, just let me know.

Spectators are welcome at each and every match and may post and interact with one another and the fighters. If you really must have a private sparring bout then you must either find a setting that would be unreachable by the curious, or state very clearly the restrictions regarding participation in your intro post. Otherwise every fight can be considered open, until it is roleplayed otherwise.

When opening a sparring match thread of your own, reflect who the fight is between in the title. You may have as many in a bout as you wish. In the first post introduce your fighters briefly and mention if you have any special requirements or restrictions e.g. the fight is magic only, no weapons, the starting base in the arena is a forest theme etc.

The Sparring subforum is both IC and OOC, so you can use any character you wish (including those from fandom - this is the only place within the Shinigami they are permitted). But it has to be set outside the Library (so not in the training room or the garden) or in the Arena as they can be considered outside the realm of Gaia. Battles with fandom characters are non-canon as far as the Shinigami are concerned.
