This thread is for information on people, events, and other long term plot-related things which the Mishap Mercenaries must address. For example, several story arcs have dealt with the struggle against Kavinsky and Thanatos. A file on Kavinsky belongs here, as well as another on Thanatos. Information on a personal item does NOT belong here, unless those items affect everyone.

Anyone may add to the library. In fact, if you have a villain, cool item, or what-have-you that might die or change, it would be easier to mark such changes if it were your own post.

A demon who originated in the demon world, which sits in a nexus to all worlds. He has conquered thousands of worlds, destroying them after over-running them. He invaded Valhalla a year after Riku came to Earth. His power is immense, and he seems to have no limit to his minions, most of who are demons. He is made of Chaos, and as such only Emperium-made weapons can hurt him. However, as only one exists, there is little chance of defeating him currently, unless the Emperium Blade is found.





A cleric of Thanatos and an advisor to Kavinsky. He looks down upon Kavinsky as a stupid man, but almost worships Yuri. He controls darkness, and can use very small amounts of Chaos. However, he generally lets demons fight for him. In his advanced age, he has gained much knowledge, but his devotion to Thanatos blinds him to the world around him. He seeks only to do his master's bidding.




Demons are spawned from the same world that Thanatos is from. They come in various forms, with varying abilities. Originally, only dark-based demons existed, but elemental demons are becoming more of a problem. Only the element opposite of theirs (example: only light hurts dark demons) can defeat them.

Clones are simply copies of Riku and Yuri. They can use Chaos, though not as effectively as Riku and Yuri, and they are limited to special attacks. The Yuri clones are more powerful than the Riku clones.

Kavinsky's elite bodyguard, similar to Hitler's Waffen SS, but far more dangerous. They were all enhanced using bioengineering, except for one, who is a Chaosmonger. They protect him at all times, while carrying out his bidding.




Kavinsky's own son, turned into a monster of sorts. He is known as the "Bear" due to his immense strength, and tendency to act much like a bear in combat. He's also roughly the size of one, with muscles that would make Arnold Schwarzenegger crap himself.
The Bear uses his immense strength in combat to defeat his opponents. He can rip a tank open with his bare hands, jump hundreds of feet into the air and survive falls from high altitudes. He is impervious to anything smaller than a .50 caliber armor-piercing round, and even then, nothing short of a 20mm cannon can truly hurt him.
His intelligence doesn't match his strength. He often talks in very simple phrases, and is quick to anger. He also has a tendency to ignore orders. However, he is fiercely loyal, and would never abandon his allies.
It is believed Vasily is actually mentally retarded, but it is not confirmed. Whatever the case, his father looks down upon him as a stupid buffoon, who he only keeps around because he is useful to him.




Called Dracula because of his vampire-like powers, Joseph Yeffimovich is, in effect, the brains of the Uroboros. He is the opposite of Vasily- intelligent, calculating, and immensely cruel. They often do not get along.
Joseph doesn't fight on his own, preferring to hypnotize others to fight for him. When he does fight, he uses his mind-bending abilities to cause hallucinations- he is sort of like the Scarecrow in the Batman comics, creating fear to distract his enemies while he moves in and kills them. He can also manipulate dead bodies, and does so often.
He has a strong taste for women, often abducting, raping and then killing them. He also holds mental control over Zen Po and Zen Li.




Born in East Germany during the Cold War, she was an orphan most of her life until Kavinsky took her in. She is sort of a daughter to him- he actually cares more for her than his own biological son, who is possibly retarded.
Blitz's blood channels enough natural electricity to power Manhattan for two years. She fights by cutting herself, then flinging her blood at enemies, effectively "bloodrocuting" them. Even a small droplet can cause a shock like a Taser.
This ability is also her weakness- if she fights too long, she'll bleed to death. As such, she is anemic, and must constantly receive transfusions. These must be done carefully, however, as she cannot turn her electric abilities off.




Twins from China, Po is a girl and Li is a boy. They are called Yin and Yang because Po controls dark, while Li controls light. They fight together, because their powers only work when they do so- if separated a far enough distance, they are powerless. All other information is unknown, except that they may be puppets under Joseph's control.
Killed by Joseph, after losing in battle to Riku in Vatican City, in their attempt to obtain an Emperium crystal.




A girl born in the Kuril Islands, she learned swordsmanship at a young age. Her enhancement gave her incredible speed, allowing her to dodge bullets with ease. She wields an O-katana, longer than a regular katana but smaller than the massive nodachi blade. She carves her enemies to pieces with her speed, the blade being superheated by air friction. She has to carry water to cool the blade before sheathing it.
Her parents were killed by Yakuza thugs when she was fourteen. She was saved by Yuri, who brought her to Kavinsky. She is the second youngest of the Uroboros, and as such, is not entirely sure if what she's doing is right or wrong. She is possibly in love with Yuri, who doesn't seem to lover her back.
Also notable for her dress. She wears a kimono cut short at the top, and exposing her right leg. She wears thigh-length white stockings and traditional Japanese sandals.




Real name unknown. Background unkown. All that is known about "Yuri" is that he is a Chaosmonger, and an immensely dangerous one at that. He controls Chaos on a level most Chaosmongers can never hope to achieve, able to cause total existence failure- erasing one from existence. He can also generate and control antimatter- this is how Kavinsky got his bombs, which are still hundreds of years ahead of the rest of the world.
Yuri is possibly not a Terran human, but a human from another world.
He is the leader of the Uroboros, and Kavinsky's most trusted bodyguard, being by his side at all times. He also performs the most dangerous missions.
After seeing Riku, he has developed a strange obsession with him, as he is also a Chaosmonger. While Yumiko seems to have feelings for him, he doesn't return them.

Mishap Mercenaries Supporting Staff
These are by no means the only tech support staff at Mishaps, but they are the ones in use. Borrow them as you like, but stay in character and no random deaths/disfigurements.

Appearance: Ike has small feathered wings.
Personality: Ike really hates it when people touch his wings.
Function: Ike is the errand boy for Mishaps.
Skills: Er. none mentioned.

Jen
Appearance: Jen is a woman of average height (5'7") and above-average weight (upwards of 300 lbs). She has dark brown, curly, shoulder length hair. When in Mishaps HQ, she wears functional and sturdy jeans and a free company T-shirt. Around her expansive waist she keeps possibly half her weight in various tools. (Her legs must be very strong.) Buried among the wrenches and screwdrivers is a katana, although there are so many other metal objects there that few notice it.
Personality: Good natured and dependable, Jen is, frankly, a geek. She will cheerfully talk about physics and science fiction movies, but she is uncomfortable with any subject which does not have a proven answer. She will try to divert such subjects with humor or literal interpretations of the question. She can be completely completely clueless around people sometimes, but this is not a sign of a lack of intelligence. She collects doctorates as a hobby.
Function: Jen is the Mishaps primary portal technician. Success at this job requires over a dozen doctorates, and Jen does well at it. When the portal room does not need repairing, she amuses herself by fixing more mundane objects, such as coffee machines and computers.
Abilities: Besides her vast array of technical knowledge, Jen is skilled with the katana. She insists that it is necessary for the times that the portal malfunctions.

Kin
Appearance: Kin stands perhaps four feet high. She has spiky light blue hair, although she dyes it brown when she visits places where blue is not a natural hair color. Normally she wears blue clothes and an official black vest with 'MMHQ' written on the back in large white letters. Her vest is too large for her because Mishaps does not have an official vest in size zero. Kin paints gray tiger stripes on her face, allowing her to be practically invisible in a computer lab. They are merely for decoration, unless she should ever get in a fight in a computer lab. Her hair keeps her from being invisible anywhere else. Despite appearances, Kin is 19 years old.
Personality: Kin has a friendly and comforting personality which encourages people to tell her their problems. This is very useful in learning about potential missions. When she is not doing her tour of duty, Kin
Function: Mercenaries complete many missions, but Kin is the one who finds those missions. She has a vast network of bars, bulletins, and contacts on many worlds, which she visits using the portal room. When not doing her tour of duty or online with her boyfriend (Zach Rhaine), Kin enjoys her time alone.
Abilities: Some diplomatic skill.

Zach Rhaine
Appearance: 18 years old, Zach wears brown overalls and a T-shirt. He is almost, but not quite, tall or lanky, with dark blond hair. Other than that, he is very nondescript, other than having long and well-muscled hands. His text display is a small black box with rounded corners, a 2" screen, and a very tiny keyboard on it.
Personality: Zach is quiet and unassuming (and would be if he were not mute). Intends to major in English when he goes to college. Zach is dating Kin.
Function: Mishaps mechanic.
Abilities: Zach is deaf-mute. (He's completely deaf, so hearing aids are ineffective. Technically, it's caused by Pendred syndrome, no goiter present, but that's irrelevant.) He knows several sign languages, and writes good poetry (usually to Kin). He types at least 200 WPM. His mechanical skills are augmented by high dexterity.
