So, do any of you costume? This weekend I finished my new Harley Quinn suit and I thought I'd share... (keep in mind that I didn't put on the proper makeup and I need some socks) I made it out of stretch velvet, which is very hard to work with. The shoes are leather, which is also hard. I spent 2-3 months on this, planning included. (Yikes, I just realised how sunburned I was in these photos!) Here's another suit of mine (made it 2 years ago): So, any other costumers out there? biggrin p.s. you can all add me at myspace.com/ltcamerica if you'd like. smile

Shattered_Life If I had talent I would totally make one, but I don't, sadly. crying Hey, no worries. You can learn from your local sewing shop. I had to go for my most recent suit because I had never used a sewing machine before... it was scary at first, but that passes quickly and it's pretty easily picked up. If there's something you want to make, you should go for it smile

I can't believe you made those! Even the leather shoes?! You're really good at sewing and stuff like that! I've never made a costume but I plan on making an outfit with one of those kits with the patterns from Jo-Ann fabrics. It looked interesting so I wanted to try it! I'm in the middle of making a quilt for my baby cousin right now.

I find making things like clothes/outfits/crafts to be relaxing but at the same time invigorating, because it's a creative effort. It's very grounding. I hope your cousin likes the quilt smile

You are amazing, Ali. Do you do commissions? ;P
Nah, I hope to someday make my own costume. More towards an anime costume though. The conventions are over summer too, and I usually have other stuff to do. *sigh* But yeah, maybe by the next 2 years I'll do it. Maybe.
I'll go add you on Myspace, maybe get some helpful tips from an experienced sewing person. (Whatever it is you call them.) x3

Wow... wasn't expecting that response, Harlene. Thank you! smile
Well, if anyone here is interested in learning how to make costumes, I'm here to help. I know fabrics and sewing and paints, so if anyone wants advice, just ask. I can't really teach anyone hands-on stuff, since this is only online, but that's okay. See you guys around!
