WE BE RANDOMIZING UP OUR FIELD NAO ;O
A large screen towered over the stadium. A spinner with twelve different battle field locations displayed on the screen, waiting to be choosen. One of the trainers jumps to the control room and presses a big green button to start up the spinner. The screenshots of each battlefield light up as they are passed by the spinner. Finally, the light stops on...
THE ELECTRIC FIELD
The field is completely flat; no bumps or hills can be located. Standing at the four corners and at the exact center of the field on each side are six electrical towers that stand at six feet in height. These create a static discharge across the field and in the air itself for one reason: a metal piping that outlines the edges of the field floats several feet above the towers themselves, held up by the discharge. During the battle, the piping can release lightning at random points on the field due to the amount of buildup them possess. This ensures that your pokemon stay moving during throughout the entire battle.

Luna made her way towards the trainer platform with glee. She was battling a trainer she had met and watched develop for a while. A battle was an excellent way to see how the trainer had progressed.
Walking up the stairs of the trainer platform, she put one hand on the railing and fished for her pokemon's pokeball with the other. Her hands curled around a single pokeball, the one she would be using. "Okay, let's go Nine!" Luna tossed the pokeball into the field.
The ball burst open, shooting a white ray of light into the field that soon formed into a black ninetales. Nine sat on the field, waiting calmly. She was excited for this battle, but did not show it outwardly in her facial expression. The only sign of her excitement was the slow waving motions of her tails.

Renekai flounced up the steps to her place on the field. A battle with Luna! That hadn't happened in a long time! Renekai remebered her promise to the other trainer that she would one day catch up. Well, Renekai certainly hadn't gained any pokemon since then, but at least she had gained in skill! Time to show her rival just how good she was now! With a smile and a cheesy wink, Renekai shouted, "Go, Bell! Make sure you do well!"
Bell popped out of her pokeball moodily. For punishment of being an embarrassment, Bell shot a cloud of ice at her trainer, numbing her entire body.
"Em gld yoo ar reddi to bttle, Bll." Renekai said encouragingly.
Bell rolled her eyes and wished that it were the ice field for once.

Luna grinned. "Hey Rene, I see Bell hasn't changed much." The trainer said, quite amused at the relationship of the two pokemon. She took one deep calming breath before her mind shifted to battle mode. The mechanical towers started to whirl with activity. The battle was beginning.
"Alright Nine! Start this off with a heatwave attack!"
Nine dashed towards Bell's side of the field, heat trailing after her. The fire fox pokemon ran straight past the bird pokemon, leaving an oppressive trail of heat behind her and soon causing the whole field to be engulfed in a heatwave.
And that wasn't all of it. Trails of electricity followed Nine's path and even launched themselves at Bell. It was a nice reminder of how staying still in the field was a very dangerous choice.

"Water pulse!" Renekai commanded, her fun and games aditude evaporating along with the ice that was once numbing her.
Bell closed her eyes despite the approaching danger. She shut out all sound, heat, and distractions and consentrated on only one thing... Water.
The air around Bell shimmered oddly for a moment, then jetted towards Nine, glowing blue. The ultrasonic waves helped to cool off the heat wave a bit even as they struck the vulnerable Bell. They picked up bits of electricity along the way, so now Nine would become... Shockingly wet.
Meanwhile, Bell decided it was time to move. The heat was burning and the electricity was beginning to crackle menacingly about her, messing up her pretty feathers.

"Nine! Keep up with the heatwave!" She ordered, knowing that the heat would not only weaken the water attack by causing it to quickly evaporate, it would also exhaust the other pokemon.
Nine dashed away from the ring of water, barely gitting hit by it. She continued on her dash through the stadium and towards Bell.
Within feet of the bird pokemon, Nine did a flip over the delibird and landed quickly before dashing off again, making the area around Bell even more unrelentingly hot. It was her own curse, in a way.

"Water Pulse!" Commanded Renekai, wincing a bit knowing how uncomfortable that Nine was making Bell feel.
The Delibird was getting angry, and she was even more annoyed at the command given. Was that all she would do? But then again, the only other super effective move Bell had was Mud-Slap, and where was she supposed to get some mud here? Instead of stopping to make one big bang of water pulse, Bell launched herself into the air, shooting several weaker pulses down at Nine. Too bad heat rose, still hurting Bell, even though she was away from its source. But the heat did make flying a bit easier.
Renekai bit her lip, trying to think of what to do. Bell was at a disadvantage, having gone second. A critical hit either way could prove devastating...

Nine ran off again to avoid the water, barely missing the brunt of the attack once more. Her speed proved to be quite useful. It also caused a certain berry around Nine's neck to be visible to Luna. The trainer smirked. She had totally forgotten that she gave Nine THAT berry, but it would certainly prove useful to them.
"Natural Gift!" Luna ordered.
The Micle berry tied on Nine's tail glowed. Chunks of concrete, rock, and other sediments rose up as Nine's eyes glowed ominously. Without warning or delay, the rocks shot towards Bell.
(Natural gift + Micle Berry = Rock type attack = 4x effective against bell = 200 HP if hits

Bell, to put it simply, was sent flying, then falling.
"Ow... chies..." Renekai winced. She hadn't expected THAT. Not at all. Did such a thing exsist?! All she knew was that she had a looooong way to go if she planned on besting Luna. This battle might be pathetically short.
"Ice beam...?" Renekai asked gingerly, hoping that Bell would be able to recover from such a blow. Amazingly enough, that wasn't even a critical hit. A critical hit would have been terrifying...
"De.... li...." Bell stuggled to a standing position. That Ninetails was strong. And scary. That move was... really... scary... Bell tucked her feathers to her sides and she suddenly appeared small and thin. Scary Ninetails. Scary, black ninetails with the spider web tails... Bell shivered, then, unexpectedly, shot a hard, cold beam at Nine's face. "NO ONE SCARES ME AND GETS AWAY WITH IT!!" she screamed, suddenly raging.
Renekai stared. That was... also scary.

"Holy crap.." Luna said at the Delibird. Bell's temper didn't improve much.
Nine attempted to dash out of the way, but was still hit. Ice started to creep up her legs. Soon, the ninetales was stuck in a coat of ice. But fortunately, the ice was melting quickly. She would get out, definately.
"Let's hang on Nine!" Luna encouraged. She knew her pokemon would break out of there, somehow. She trusted Nine.

Renekai simply stared, completely at a loss. Her mouth was hanging open a bit, and she seemed to have lost the need or the ability to blink. Bell would have to do it on her own for now.
Bell shot another Water Pulse at the Ninetails, knowing that she was cutting it very close. If she could squeeze an attack in, then re-freeze the Ninetails, she had a chance. But it would be difficult and unlikely to get lucky enough to still stand a chance against that scary fox.

"Aww, you're going to be boring and just stick to two attacks?" Luna taunted her opponent. "I'm quite bored Rene." The trainer said, giving a slight pout. She was being pretty honest too. The variation of Bell's attack wasn't too great.
The thick layer of ice not only held down Nine, but also blocked part of the water pulse attack. The ice cracked.
"Prepare for it..." Luna commanded her pokemon, seeing the ice as thin as tissue now. With one movement, they would be free.

Renekai gritted her teeth, coming out of her daze. They had to do it this way, or else they wouldn't stand a chance! It wasn't their fault...! "Easy..." Renekai murmured to herself. "Don't get riled up over a single taunt..."
"ICE BEAM!"
Bell couldn't agree more. The Ninetails looked ready to pounce any minute! Bell quickly charged up an ice beam, then aimed right into Nine's face. The face with the scary reddish eyes... No, don't think about that.
