Name: Queen Melethia Dagon Applying for: Fire Gym Leader Skill Level: Good. (trust me I work alot with the fire types) Knowledge of EVs/IVs: IV-Indivdual Value. They range from 0 to 31. The closer to 31 the better the IV for the stat is. These IV are calulated with an IV calulator. The best way to calulate these stats is to do a level 100 battle. It may take a few times of breeding the pokemon to get the IVs you want.
EV-Effort Value. Every time you beat a pokemon you get something called and effort value point. It takes 4 effort value points to get one more point added in a stat when you level up. You have a limit of 510 total EVs per pokemon. For each pokemon you also have a limit of 255 EVs per stat.
There are a few things to make the amount of pokemon you need to beat for ev training less. The Macho Brace will double the EVs you get at the cost of your speed. There are also 6 power items that will give 4 EVs in a stat depending on what you have to your pokemon. There is also a certon condision called Pokerus that will also double the EVs you get. There are some vitamins that will give you 10 evs in a stat depending on what you get. There is a limit though only 10 of any vitamin can be used in any stat.
There is one other thing to note. Do not use rare candies to level up your pokemon if you are EV training. The EVs will not go into effect if you so do.

Name: Kyrenx
Applying for: Flying Gym Leader
Skill Level: Think of best the Pokemon battler you've ever seen! Got an idea in your mind? Good! Now I'm most likely not nearly half that good but I will strive to be someday. pirate
Knowledge of EVs/IVs: Do I really have to explain this? I mean, Melethia already explained just about everything noteworthy already (minus Hidden Power details but I'll leave that for others to discuss), except her comment about Rare candies is partially a myth as rare candies are conditionally safe to use. They don't affect your Pokemon in any way other than level. The ONLY way to harm a Pokemon's stats is to level it up to 100 before the Pokemon has all its EVs filled, so, as long as the EV training gets done before level 100, you're good. And even then, when it comes to EV training a level 100 pokemon, in order to make it's stats change to show the training, you have to constantly deposit, close and withdraw the poke from the PC. Just a little trick I learned along the way.
Why do you want to be a Gym Leader: Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Name: Cormini Applying for: Poison Gym Leader
Skill Level: To be honest... I really dont know. Fair I suppose. I haven't really battled enough people to know whether I am good or not. I would consider it more or less someone elses place to judge me as such.
Knowledge of EVs/IVs: Melethia's post has said it all, but I figured what you really want is for me to anwser it in my own words. Fair enough, hmm... EV's increase stats in sets of four and IV's are just a pokemons natural born talent. How is that? smile
Why you want to be a Gym Leader: Bordom I guess... I don't know really. I guess I fall into the catagory similar to why Kyrenx wants to be a Gym Leader.

Name: Luther Olathes Applying for: Dark Gym Leader Skill Level: Somewhere between Good to Advance. I'll let you pick. Knowledge of EVs/IVs: IVs can not be changed. Whatever IVs your pokemon has, you're stuck with them. The only way to calculate them is by Serebii.net and only if the pokemon does not have any EVs. EVs you get from battling pokemon. Different pokemon give different EVs to different status. Each pokemon can only have a total of 255 EVs to two stats. You can spread them around, but it's best to put them where they're needed most. You can boost the about you EVs you get from each pokemon through items, and a virus, and you can lower them by feeding your pokemon berries. And, once they're at lv 100, that's it. Your stuck. No more EV training.
Why you want to be a Gym Leader: It sounds like fun and I want to hold onto some for of ranking. Not to mention it gets me a bunch of challenges.

Yes it would appear. If we don't get enough challengers then we will make these people Gym Leaders by default till the next election. For anyone who knows squat about IVs and EVs I will personally train you myself smile

Name: Gallade-475 Applying for: Fighting Gym Leader Skill level: Moderate (I saw everyone was posting Good, or Great, so i decided i'll keep my pokemon around level 50-60, so its more of a modest gym that some average players will be able to tackle) Knowledge of IV's and EV's: People have already sumerized it, and the only thing that I can post, is another supporting fact of the Rare Candy theory. They do not influence IVs or EVs. It only raises your level by 1. Just don't go all the way to 100 until you are finished with the IV and EV trainings!
Why would you like to be a gym leader: I just felt that it would be good to have a medium ranked Gym leader for some people, and possibly, if they win, I will give them a prize, (Via trade)

Fire Warrior50- Yeah I wonder if i'll get to be a water gym leader Here is my Pokemon Empoleon LVL45 Gyrados LVL40 Floatzel LVL40 Golduck LVL40 Quagsire LVL40 You need to do a little better than that to apply. A list of pokemon doesn't really qalify as an application. But, I guess that's for koishii to decide.
