It was stinkin' hot in the city today, temps reachin' up into the high nineties. Most persons took shelter within their homes or a an ice cream shop somewhere. Some even scampered towards the casino; heck, it was too hot even for a lot of trainers.
Perfect opportunity to take some time off! And since Katarina was a coastal city.....
Sighing and flopping down on her towel, Jen pushed her sunglasses onto the bridge of her nose and made a grabby motion towards the small cooler nestled under the rented umbrella. The beach was FRIGGIN' crowded today...thankfully, she and her pokemon had gotten here early and had found a nice spot just above the high-tide mark. Opening the soda can she had grabbed, the trainer watched some of her pokemon bounce around in the shallows or play in the sand as she enjoyed a moment of relaxation.
Needed alot of energy to keep up with those five...seriously!

Meeka waved her hand in front of her face, goodness was it hot! "Whew! These are the kinds of days I wish I was back on the Milktank Farm where I can enjoy a good glass of Milktank Milk!" Meeka said without looking at Ebba. Wiping her forehead of perspiration, she sighed. If today got any hotter, she would surely melt! Even though Meeka was sweating, Ebba suffered more. His furry down was meant for cold weather, not hot. Meeka slugged down some of her Lemonade, than offered some to Ebba. "You need this more than me buddy." Meeka said toward her Stantler.
Panting, Ebba slurped down the Lemonade as drips of the sour-sweet drink trickled down his mouth. He wasn't fond of today either, and he would have preferred to go back in his Pokeball. But since his trainer is such a dimwit, it was kinda obvious she wouldn't understand even if he asked. Ebba panted again as he looked at the beach. The water swelled up and down making Ebba wanting to go for a swim. But Ebba didn't know how to swim, and it didn't really help.
Meeka patted her partner on the head. "C'mon buddy." she said as she held her shoes in her grasp and walked on the sand barefoot. "We can cool off by soaking in the water, let's go Ebba!" Meeka paced toward the water, and even with all her clothes on, threw herself into its banks. In her opinion, it didn't matter anymore. It was just TOO HOT!
Ebba followed after and stepped one foot into the water. The waters cooled him, but he couldn't swim at all.

Sure the humans may have been melting...but some of the pokemon seemed to be enjoying themselves. Particularly those of the fire and water element.
Aura was one of these pokemon; being her usual puppy self, the Arcanine bounced around in the shallows some distance from where the Stantler was standing. She yipped and barked, tounge hanging out the side of her mouth as the female pokemon turned towards her trainer.
"BARK BARK!"
"Ugh....Aura, no...please? Lemme hangout here in the shade! I dun't wanna go o-AH! HEY!"
Despite the argument attempt, Aura simply wouldn't allow it! Jen needed to play with her! Trotting over, Aura grabbed Jen by her arm and pretty much threw the human into the shallows, despite the protests. A yelp and a splash followed suit.
Spitting out sea water, Jen pushed her bangs out of her eyes and glared at her pokemon. Aura simply stared back with a innocent puppy expression on her face. Grinning, the trainer stood up and launched herself at the fire-type, who barked and scampered away, tail wagging and sending sand flying everywhere.
"COME BACK HERE, YA OVER GROWN MUTT!" A loud laugh. "Wait until I get my hands on you!"

A young man sat on the ledge of a cliff that overlooked the beach, radio blaring music and the boy's head bobbing to the beat of the bass. Today was a nice day, in his opinion. Everyone and their Pokemon were out at the beach today. It was the perfect day to scout.
Yes, he was scouting. Scouting for any Pokemon with that rare black phenotype gene. That gene that Armageddon and Axel carried, that made them stick out like sore thumbs.
Speaking of Axel, he seemed to have gone down to find potential suitors. If there was one good thing about that Houndour's cocky attitude, it was that people found him alluring, and often brought him business.
As for Armageddon, he was watching his daughter play in the ocean carefully. Koori may be rebelious, but it was hot enough for her to take a shameless dip.
And Sentret...well, she was being her usual playful self, playing in the tide pools.
"Hm...nothing." Zen sighed, getting up. "Too bad, I really would've liked to find one today." He muttered, ruffling his hair.

It wasn't often that Kayla has a chance to go to the bench. Most of her pokemon gang hate water but today, they all needed a break from battling. With the wind blowing and the sun high, it was a great time to take a swim or get a tan.
Quintrell and Kayla ran out into the shallows of the clean blue water while Adira and Grinch hanged out on the sandy beach, several yards away from any chance of getting wet. Grinch was happily walking around, looking for treasure, digging here and there. Although on occassion steal some small items from an unsuspecting person or unsupervised belongs. Adira was happily sunbathing on the hot sand. She had a rough battle earlier and needed a break. She was never too relaxed since they were so close to the water, which means water pokemon.
When Kayla reached the water in her multlicolor bathing suit, she cupped her hand and splashed some at Quintrell who sweeped his tail to splash back.
Kayla laughed in delight. They continued at it for a while before starting to swim and waddle a little further into the water.
