Okay, I've heard a lot about re-doing Final Fantasy VII (though I think original is better), and I've been doing some thinging.
Do you know if they will re-do the final fantasies before that? How about after? What do you think?

as of right now, it isn't even actually confirmed that FFVII will be remade, but from quotes i've read it is looking promising
as for other games, i really wish they'd redo VIII with voice acting, cuz i SOOOOOO want to see that!

chaos.ultima.mage as of right now, it isn't even actually confirmed that FFVII will be remade, but from quotes i've read it is looking promising as for other games, i really wish they'd redo VIII with voice acting, cuz i SOOOOOO want to see that! they may might them like FFX and X-2.. that'd be cool though 'cause X is what really got me into the final fantasy world.. and I'd like to hear their voices for VIII and IX... it'd be cool. 3nodding

hmm... personally i'd love if if they remade some. Or at least voice acting. Not necessarily better graphics and all but... you know, maybe just voice acting because.
Though I guess I'd like improved graphics.

They are doing somewhat of a sequel called FF&: Dirge of Cerberus. There are rumored to be more than that, but this is the only one confirmed that I have found.

"Although Dirge of Cerberus was announce about a year ago Square Enix has still said very little about the storyline behind Dirge of Cerberus. However, here is what we know so far.
A sudden appearance of a mysterious group called the Deep Ground Soldiers as they attacks Kalm plunges the town in chaos. The Deep Ground Soldiers are a section of SOLDIER, created by the ShinRa Company on the President ShinRa's orders underneath Midgar. When Meteor struck Midgar at the end of Final Fantasy VII they became trapped but they have now escaped their underground lair. Vincent Valentine is somehow connected to the Deep Ground Soldiers as they seem to have been searching for him for some time.
Reeve Tuesti former Head of Urban Development at ShinRa is now the leader of the World Restoration Organization who are a large organization who basically carry out more than AVALANCE could ever have hoped. Their job is to restore the world and prevent anyone from damaging it further. Barret and Tifa are thought to be part World Restoration Organization and are probably leading some of the missions.
Along side the main story line is is clear that Vincent's painful past will be uncovered including his tragic love with Lucrecia. We may also find out what happened to Vincent during Hojo's experimentation on him."

it would be cool to have the "older games" with updated graphics, i would lovve to see how the characters look like with more "diffrent" characteristicsc to them (and not just the basic look and just differetn hair, clothes, etc.), but the original the original, you can't beat taht 3nodding heart 3nodding heart 3nodding heart 3nodding heart 3nodding

wow, talk about gravedigging...this thread has been dead for upwards of 5 months...
as Sembri mentioned, the only confirmation AT THE MOMENT is Dirge of Cerberus, which will be a sequel, apparently relating directly to Vincent Valentine and will be a first-person shooter. btw, pesky_yuna has an official thread for us dedicated to this game. check there for more indepth info!
no FFVII remake confirmed
FF's I, II, IV, and V have all been remade if i'm not mistaken on PSX, though that is basically ancient again...

Ultima is right about previous remakes as I've played those ones too!
As Nomura said in a Interview:
A remake of VII would take 300 Staff + And they time to make it would be around 5 Years or more,
But I saw the Trailer of sections...like when Cloud met Aerith selling Flowers for 1 Gil in the Slumbs and does it look great!
Think about AC Quality Graphics people!
It also had some Voice Overs.......
Apparently they said:
If the Remake turns out well, we might be doing a remake of previous Final Fantasies on PS2 format or PS3 format.
They are doing: Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus as a Second to the VII Installment as some of Vincent Valentine's Past had some loose ends so DoC is bit of a clean up, Reeve & Yuffie have a bit more about them in DoC too!
Before Crisis & After Crisis revolve around the Turks a bit more......and that's all I can think of really.....my Brain is frozen!!!!

I've only heard Rumors of FFVII being remade. But I agree tht FFVIII should be remade
I think that FFV should be remade. I dont think that people really understand how Great FFV colud be if they remade it in 3D. The characters seem like those that you could add voices to. The storylive would also be Good for a 3D remake. The Scene when (SPOILERS!!!!! Highlight if you want to read) Galuf Dies<-- Could be really Climactic. Id also like to see you fight a giant 3D tree at the end.
And we all know that A 3D Gilgamesh would get anyone excited.

umm...you do realize that Gilgamesh was already made 3D with FFVIII? i understand what you're getting at though. the different jobs would look SOOO cool!

I think Final Fantasy VII should be left in the past Square keeps milking VII for all its worth instead of trying to make a game that will make people shut up about VII seriousley the game came out 9 years ago let it die already.

No remakes...make another one either...
Cyber Punk, like seven or! more like 9 which you all know owned.
I'm looking forward to the new originals with similar qualitys that were good in the old ones, I want them to keep the best of the old while also putting that dash in to make it the next hit.

Darkness Wizard I'd rather have SE concentrate more efforts towards new games rather than remakes of classic games. They have already, IMO, wasted enough time on extentions of FFVII that would probably better off making new and different games. I'm with ya there
