Me and my friend Kerry stayed in a hotel in Hinckley (A small town where my grandparents live). We had to share a room with my brother (Which didn't really bother me, but I slept in the same bed with Kerry and had to shove him over a few times because he's really freakin' warm) and then lit off a bunch of illegal fireworks and I got thoroughly eaten by mosquitoes.
Also took this hilarious picture:

So, how was everyone else's Independence Day?

Mine was pretty pointless for the most part. It didn't start getting interesting until about 8.30; my brothers and I sat up in the huge oak tree in our front yard and ambushed my boyfriend with those little poppers that make a big noise when they hit the ground. It was actually pretty hilarious, because it took him a minute to look up and figure out where we were.

Then we kayaked out to where we could see the fireworks out over the lake; my da and youngest brother took one of the two-man kayaks, my older younger brother took the one-man, and my boyfriend and I took the other two-man. Then my mom and my sister took the canoe, but they paddle really slow.

Of course, we ended up capsizing our kayak because we were attempting to do a battle of the paddles. Standing up. Uh... yeah...

After that, it was the Twilight Zone marathon. Because everyone loves old black-and-white television shows!

I did realize that it was exactly a year from that point that I would come back from Norway.

Those poppers drove my neighbor crazy, I brought home like 6 boxes from my trip.

I adore the Twilight Zone, I wish I'd been able to see it on the 4th. Would've made things 4 times cooler.

We had... well... um... two boxes apiece. With myself and my siblings combined, that was eight boxes. Then it turned out my boyfriend had brought some, too. So that made nine boxes. But we have more obnoxious neighbors, setting off big fireworks. Which, by the way, due to the very large numbers (and density and dryness) of trees in our area, are illegal save those set off the big Red, Hot, and Blue festival or whatever the heck it was.

Twilight Zone marathons tend to happen on the "firework holidays", as my brother pointed out. New Years and Fourth of July. Which is an interesting observation. More so because he's right...

And in reference to your first post again. I think being overly warm must be a guy thing. Because Martin's really warm. We can be sitting there watching tv and he grabs a blanket, which I promptly shove on the floor about thirty seconds later because it's really hot in my house, and he's really warm, and blankets only make matters worse.

I forgot about it. =[
Usually there's somebody at school talking about it, but nothing this time round.

I don't really like loud ones and I honestly don't care for them at all, save one or two pretty looking ones. And our neighbors won't stop setting them off, either. It's horrible. Then again, our neighbors were already horrible, so I'm not surprised.

I don't watch enough TV to have noticed, though last Christmas (I think) there was a Hitchcock marathon I found myself glued to.

Well, I'm a blanket-grabber. It can be 90 degrees in the house and I feel I need to be covered by something. But they're natural furnaces, I swear. Caleb's the same way, I usually end up sleeping on him (which has produced more than one awkward conversation) because being next to him is too warm and without airflow.

I remember this bonfire night where one of the cardboard tubes from a rocket fell on this little girl's head and she started crying really badly.
I used to be frightened of fireworks.

Awww dammit. I wish it was almost November now. Bonfire night is awesome.

My 4th included many ordinary things.

I did some job hunting in the morning, then watched a dvd or two while my sister and parents puttered around the house. In the evening my 'rents and I jumped in the car and did our yearly tradition of driving out to this military barracks halfway across the island to see their annual fireworks display. My sis stayed home because she was busy studying for her MCAT. We've been going there since I was little...half because it has the best display on this rock (military people tend to be really into this particular holiday) and also because it was just a great place to go picnicking as a family for the day. Since then it's sort of devolved into just going at night for the shiny explosives.

As for guys being warm, some are like that I suppose. My latest ex was sort of odd in that respect. He was always warm to the touch when he felt cold and vice versa. My dad is usually room temp or warmer, but the warmer bit may be related to his health issues. My best friend usually runs a little on the cooler side...he's a skinny comp geek. As for me, well...I hail from Hawaii, so I'm used to warm/hot weather. My blood thickens quickly, though, so when I'm on the east coast for half the year I adjust well to the cold. Sometimes I'm pretty oblivious to temperature. There have been various times when I didn't feel cold, but someone offered me a coat and told me that my arm/hand was icy to the touch.

Side note: I like shiny things. Fireworks = very shiny. xd
