It just would've had to be raining, wouldn't it?

A perfectly fine day of meditating and walking through the forest, curling up in a nest of ferns for a quick nap. And he would wake up to rain.

Now rain was not Gi's favorite thing. If anything, it was his absolute LEAST favorite. Now soaking wet and no where near proper shelter, the usually sweet-tempered male had become a little sour.

All around were sparse coverings of trees, despite the lush growing season not enough to block out the downpour upon the forest. Attempting to squeeze himself into a tree-trunk the very cold, very wet wolf let out a growl of annoyance.

"It had to be raining."

Ally resembled something in the line of a drowned rat. She wasn't against the rain but that didn't mean she was over joyed to be drenched in it. Shaking off didn't seem to help the matter any either...

Suddenly she stopped and started for several moments at a moving piece of a tree, wasn't till he growled out that she realized in fact it was a wolfs butt sticking out.

At the moment that she had stumbled upon him, Gi was surveying the thoroughly doused landscape and thinking of his options.

1. Stay under the tree, be wet. 2. Leave from underneath the tree in attempts to find a drier spot, see end of one. 3. Conquer dislike of water and enjoy the disgusting afternoon.

So far, all options seemed quite idiotic. So he stayed, beginning to idling circle the trunk for lack of anything else. Though his pack has taught him patience and virtue, both skills had seemed to have left him at this time for the sins of annoyance and impatience. Silver ears pricked curiously at the sloshing noise behind him, and the large male turned to find. . . another unfortunate creature.

She snickered as he circled the tree boy he must be bored. She sat down as graceful as one could do as it was pouring rain just to silently watch him. It wasn't spying, she was sitting in the middle of the rain just watching. Was being nosy but that was ok. It was after he spotted her that she stood up wet tail wagging back and forth and further soaking the ground around her.

"what are you doing?" she tilted her head as she remembered the sight of him rounding the tree.

The sight of the fellow wolf's calm and friendly display allowed Gi to settle down a tad himself. He himself preferred peace to violence and in these conditions a possible friend made everything a little bit easier. If just a bit.

His brow furrowed inquiringly, as if confused by her question. "I am standing here and answering you." He replied softly, not fully understanding what she had implied by that.

Obviously having forgotten his manners, the male stepped back towards the trunk of the tree, gesturing for the female to stand under at least partial cover instead of swimming about where she was.

She trotted over and sat next to him it was at least nicer then in the direct rain, "i meant why were you circling the tree?" It must have been some sort of male ritual or something.. she puzzled over it a moment before just shaking the thought from her head.

She looked out at the rain, "the day sure turned sour didn't it?" Snapping back to where she was she started.

"oh im rude aren't I? My names Ally." She smiled at him.

She had noticed that? For a moment the wolf felt immense embarrassment at his indescribable action, then laughed, turning to face the darker furred female.

"Only if all males are as short-patienced as I was at that moment." He smiled softly, amused at his own foolishness while slightly chastising himself for forgetting his teachings. He would meditate on that later.

"Quite. " Gi mumbled softly, looking with displeasure out at the rain. "I never grasped the idea of how something so nurturing and necessary to all of the Great Mother's world could be so persistent and unpleasant." He clucked his tongue against the top of his mouth absentmindedly.

"Oh, not at all, Miss Ally. If anything, I am the rude one for not introducing myself earlier. I am Gi." He dipped his head in respect.

She dipped her head back. "don't worry Gi i haven't meet many males to compare that to anyway." It was true she wasn't able to remember much of her so called child life and remembered being alone most of it. Rain was unpleasing but she was out in it before.

"well i hope it doesn't go on forever... i don't think were safe if it starts to flood, or even safe if it continues this hard im sure the tree wont be dry forever."

"Then I am to take that as a blessing..." The wolf smiled softly, triple tails twitching where they lay with momentary amusement. "Or perhaps simply one for the next male you happen to find."

The thought of flooding had not yet occurred to him, and with surprise he regarded it as quite possible. He had been stuck under this tree for a countless time, and with the ever-shadowy overcast there was no clear idea what time it might be to count the hours.

"I hope so as well. As much as it is a hassle to have to dry one's coat after a storm, it is much more so when one is swimming." He shifted on his paws fidgetingly. By the minute this tree didn't seem as good of an idea for shelter.

She laughed, "well then more challenge for them huh." She watched him start to get fidgety. he had a point swimming could be tiring also.

"maybe we should seek a better shelter?" she stared up at the branches above and was rewarded with a raindrop right to the eye. Shaking her head she snorted, "their out to get me...."

Who they were she wasn't sure...

He chuckled along with her laughter, the sound reverberating deeply and heartily in his chest. This female had turned out to be at least decent companionship, he was quite grateful for that.

"That would be the best course of action. . . Though were we would find some around here is the problem. The trees are too sparse to stay under and keep dry, the bushes the same."

He answered grimly, maw set in a thin line across his face. Somehow they would have to manage to find somewhere to dry, or at least a more suitable place to stay until the rain let up.

She puzzled over it, "yea that trees aren't to good around here... " she was marching in the rain for a while to notice there wasn't much to have around. But if the rain continued its course there wasn't gonna be a ground under them.

She sighed, "well we have two choices i guess, 1 we stay here and hope it stops, or 2 we leave to find new shelter, but then we have to go out in that, course i don't think i could get any wetter..." It was true even under the tree she felt as tho she was standing in the rain still.

"that is unless you have a better idea?" She looked over at him.

Somehow the wolf always found himself in these sort of predicaments. And though he made it out of them alive(most obviously), the sacrifices he had to make to do so were quite unpleasant.

Almost amusingly the femme he had encountered named off the first two options that he himself had thought of before, though she had brought up an interesting point. They were soaked to the undercoat, it was really quite impossible to get any wetter than they already were.

He opened his mouth to speak, then hesitated, thinking it over. "I say we go with the second option. Things can only get better..."

"i hope thats true." She laughed then stood up looking at the rain before breathing deep and stepping out. At least she didn't notice it anymore. Already the water was all over the ground was like the old days of hoping in mud puddles.

"Well i came from the south and there was nothing there so that way is out" She looked around her, "where was it you were coming from? we can at least eliminate a few directions."
