She'd wandered away from her group again for some peace and quiet and for the chance to see what else was out there. Since she was bigger she had more strength to go wandering about and now have to worry about getting home without falling asleep. She could spend the entire day searching out whatever was out there if she wanted.
Something had prodded at her mind that morning and she'd taken off to go find breakfast for herself and to find whatever it was that she thought she was suppose to. Usually when she felt that prodding at her mind she ended up finding something to guide her somewhere. She'd learned early on not to ignore things like that.
Stretching out her paws she grinned and looked over the grassland around her. She could hear things scurrying around in the grass so this would be a good spot to find breakfast. She just had to be patient and wait for something to come close enough she could pin point it.

Following her Lady's orders, Tishtar tmidly explored outside of her homelands. She wasn't quite sure what she was looking for, but she had been told that she would know it once she saw it. The thing was, what was she supposed to look for exactly?
Nervously, the bright blue waterbuck sniffed at the ground, deciding to try and find a place to rest before continuing her search. She had a hunch that the Lady Ren was bullied by their Lord to find more members for their House. It was apparent that they were very small, and that wouldn't be what the Lord wanted. He seemed to want things big and fantastic. With a snort, the waterbuck stomped her hoof at the thought. She'd have to tell him off one day, only...right after he ate something.
She heard a rustling, and quickly her deep violet eyes glanced around. Did she not notice someone nearby? She should have gotten someone to come with her, it wouldn't be safe being a preybeast out alone.

Her tail swished lightly behind her as she watched for whatever it was that would come along. She was beginning to think that nothing would when she finally spotted something.
The bright blue stood out against the grasses of the savanna and she blinked a few times, wondering if she was seeing things. Hunkering down in the grass she hoped her dark coat wouldn't be noticed as she watched the waterbuck. She'd seen one before, Gala had one around her, but she'd never seen one that bright before. It reminded her of those lizards that if you chewed on them they started to taste nasty.
Maybe this was what she was suppose to find? It did look a bit like something that she wasn't suppose to eat and she never could eat the things she was suppose to follow.

After a moment, the only thing that the waterbuck heard was silence. Perhaps she was just getting a bit too paranoid about everything. She wasn't too familiar with things out here, away from her pride home, so every odd sound almost made her panic.
She let her muscles loosen as she swayed her tail behind her. She kept her head up this time, still scanning the horizion for something. Anything, she didn't know- hey. What was that? Narrowing her eyes, she could see some sort of dark form. It was small, so definately nothing like a big cat that was going to eat her. It was far enough away that she couldn't tell directly what it was. Every ounce of her common sense was telling her to ignore it, but she couldn't help feeling full of curiosity. What was it?
Slowly, very slowly, she walked in that direction. Not in a straight line, but swaying a bit as if she wasn't quite sure what she was doing. As she grew closer she was sure it was a smaller hunter, but she still couldn't quite see. It blended in quite well with the shadows in the grass.
"H-hello?" she called out carefully. Hopefully that wouldn't be answered with a growl.

She almost jumped when she heard the waterbuck say something. They never said anything before. Usually the little things she found just ended up running away from her and she followed after until she lost them. Maybe this was something else then ...
Shifting herself from being ready to spring into something more relaxed she watched as it came toward her. "hello.." If she'd just been hearing things then it wouldn't answer back and she could go back to watching and waiting like usual.
If it did answer, well then she'd just have to figure out what to do since that had never happened before.

Tishtar blinked, her eyes showing a bit of disbelief. So it talked back, too! She trotted up a bit closer so she wouldn't be quite so far away, keeping a little bit of a space bubble. Juuust in case. She let her head fall to look at the young creature. It actually did carry lion characteristics, but was quite...small. In a lot of areas. Maybe just a young one, or one that wasn't very big at all? Tishtar blinked a bit more before raising her head back up at a comfortable position.
"At least you replied," she said with a playful snort. "Are you a cub?" It would be very strange for a cub to be wandering alone. Hopefully the parents weren't closeby, or Tishtar would be playing with death at this moment.
"...alone?" she added on quickly. Best to be a little safe.

"Alone ..." Her friends probably weren't really close by anymore and she had a feeling that's what the waterbuck meant. Nodding quickly she shifted so she could sit up on her haunches. "Alone, yes. Not a cub."
At least she didn't think she was anymore. She was bigger than the others now and she'd been a cub for so long she was getting tired of it. "At least i don't think i'm a cub .... am i?" Her ears flicked slightly as she tilted her head to the side to think about that one.

The waterbuck's ear flicked away a fly as she looked at the lion again. Obviously she misjudged her, but she still didn't look...full grown. "Well, you're smaller than my Lord and Lady, so that's why I mistook you as one."
This felt odd, if only because she didn't know the lioness that she was talking to. It would have felt completely normal if she was talking to the Lady Ren, but not with this stranger.
She paused for another moment. "Well...alone means I'm not quite at risk of being attacked." She relaxed, but only for a bit. "I don't know these lands well."

"Oohh ... well i'm not an adult." She laughed softly as she settled herself comfortably. "So if they are then i'd be smaller than them." She nodded. She'd never met an adult that she could remember so she didn't know how big they actually were.
"No ... you look too big for me to eat so i wouldn't be doing it." She'd rather eat something smaller that she could get her mouth round herself. "I don't know them all that well either, i wanted to get away for a bit and i hadn't been this way before. It's nice though."

"I guess that would determine it." Tishtar felt a little foolish, and she noticed that her face felt a bit hot. Letting her eyes pull her attention away elsewhere for a moment got her mind to start thinking about other things. Was this someone that Lady Ren had sent her out to find? Perhaps. How would she go about doing this? Tishtar was not as witty as Diè was, and probably not as direct, either.
"Comforting to know I wouldn't get eaten," she said with a bit of a snort. "And it gets better the more northern you get." She was proud of her home lands, and couldn't help but brag a bit about them. "It's where I came from."
She glanced over the lioness, curious on her intents. She didn't seem like a threat at all to Tishtar, which was something that the waterbuck was not used to. She mainly just seemed mildly lonely, and a bit quiet too. It was....interesting. She'd keep that in mind just in case she could lure her back home. Lady Ren would be pleased to have someone else to talk to, this the waterbuck was sure of.

"You come from somewhere up north?" She grinned slightly. "I don't .... think i come from anywhere really. Unless you count that way" She picked up a paw and waved it in the direction she'd come from. Her parents would have come from somewhere she just didn't know where. "It must be nice." She laughed as she looked back toward the waterbuck.
She'd figured that she'd spend forever just wandering around with the others that she'd run across.

"Oh, it's very nice. Beautiful lands, far away from any threats. My Lady had quite the gentle heart, I just fear that she grows tired of only talking to me on a daily basis." The waterbuck laughed, but only for a short time as she felt it was embarassing to laugh too much.
"I'm sure you'd like it if you saw it." She said so directly, but she didn't quite have the heart to really push. If she volunteered, perhaps. THe most Tishtar could do was insert the idea of going somewhere very far from where they live. Otherwise it would almost feel like kidnapping, and that was something that Tishtar thought was horrifying. "T-though I won't push the matter if you'd like."

"She only has you to talk to?" She frowned slightly at that idea. Only haveing one person to talk to didn't seem at all like a good idea. She liked having others to talk to, it was better than talking to yourself. "That's not any fun ... i mean, you're good conversation but ... one person?"
She got up and wandered toward the waterbuck. "Is it that far? If it's not too far i could come see it?" She'd never been somewhere that she really -liked-. It was always just grass and more grass and sometimes trees.

"Well, there's Diè, but she can be a stick in the mud at times, and isn't always very fun to talk to." She swished her tail behind her to swat off a fly. Annoying creatures, why did they never leave her alone? "But there's only a couple of us there, and I know the Lady is lonely." Ooohh, she felt bad, but she'd give the lioness a bit of reassurance.
"It's a ways, but if you don't like it I'd be happy to show you the way back." The blue waterbuck bobbed her head happily at the idea. That was fair. And Tishtar didn't mind, so long as she didn't get eaten along the way. "And as long as you're with me, we'll be safe within the lands. Strangers aren't welcome, but if they're escourted everything will be well. We keep to ourselves, mostly, but our House has been so thinned out, it's not easy to protect ourselves."

She didn't really kow what a 'stick in the mud' meant outside of literally but from the tone she guessed that meant that this Diè person wasn't very fun. "It sorta sounds like how i grew up." She smiled. She had friends now but she hadn't for a long while.
"Well ... if you promise to show me the way back if i don't like it then i can come see." That seemed fair to her and she nodded. At least if it wasn't what the waterbuck said it was she could come back. Then she wouldn't be stuck somewhere that she wasn't happy.
