This was becoming one of Adriel's favorite places to hang out it seemed. True that people often frequented there but a lot of people avoided him all together. Not too surprising considering how he looked.
He sat on the swing, merly sitting and stroking a tentacle as he had accidentally slammed a drawer shut on it earlier. It ached, though the tentacle reacted to the pain instantly it had taken several minutes for the pain to reached his own brain. He regretting doing what he had done as well...it hurt like nothing he had ever experienced before.
But the tentacle had deserved what had happened...as it had tried to open his mother's bedroom dresser to steal a piece of her under garments. This was starting to get ridiculous. Maybe he did need to go back to the facility....there must be a way to control these blasted things!

Devan clung to his mother's leg like a lifeline. No matter how she moved, he was able to stay close to her. His tail was around her calf as if to ensure they wouldn't get separated. Devan was shy and unused to so many people and hid every time someone passed. He gazed up slowly and spotted a boy on the swings and his mood quickly changed. "Mom! I want to get on that!" He said pointing with his tail tip.
"I'm not your mom." She stated then sighed. It was no use. That was what she was, wasn't it? Just not biological. It just felt weird to be called that all of the sudden. "You want to get on the swing?" She asked walking over to it and surveying it. Was he old enough? Well there was another boy there...with tentacles. Did all humans have some freaky kid here? She inhaled and caught the same odd half scent the rest of the boys she'd met had. The same as Devan's. So she deemed him safe and lifted up her child, depositing him into the swing, watching him kick repeatedly to get himself to move.
Devan, who thought he was doing the best job ever, smiled at the new kid. "Hi..." He said lowly, watching the tentacles. They were so cool looking. He lifted up his tail and bridged the gap between the two of them. "Can I have tentacles like that?" He asked boldly, letting his tail tap them with interest.

Adriel watched the boy and the woman approach, he thought they must be...mother and son. At least...probably was. The boy had wings...what did everyone have wings but him? Lately it seemed so.
He gave the boy a shy smile and shook his head, "You don't want them.. They are a hassal." He said with a sigh as alreayd one tentacle sensing the tail was nearby reached out and wrapped around the tail lihgtly. It was now stroking it and examining it as if trying to figure out what exactly it was.

Devan flapped his wings in pleasure when his tail was touched. It felt so weird to have it prodded at. He stroked the tentacle back in response, giggling. It kind of tickled. "They seem fun..." He responded. He fixed his golf hat on his head with his hands and paused. "Erm, uh, I'm Devan... what's your name?" This boy seemed so cool though he was a bit frightening. It was obvious he was older.

Shifting a bit the boy looked uncomfertable. Yet another person who thoughts his tentacles were cool. If only they knew how much trouble they caused...then they perhaps would think differently of them.
"We...l..um...I'm Adriel." He responded instead of stating his mind. He found he didn't have it in him to be mean. His gaze shifted to the woman he was with giving her a shy smile and making a note to not get too close to her. Fortunately his tentacles were preoccupied with Devan to much care about the woman.
The tentacle being stroked was like a kitten butting the end of it against Devan's hands seeking more pets and attention. The second reached up and snatched the golf hat off Devan's head. Adriel quickly snatched it out of the tentacles grasp before it could start playing a game of keep away.
"Ah...sorry about that." He murmured offering the hat back to the boy.

"Don't worry about it, kid." The woman suddenly voiced up, noticing his expression. "He'd think being on fire was cool if someone else was." She gave a rough shrug as if there was nothing to be done about it. "Envy." She said with a half wave of her hand. She watched him, curious of what he might be.
"Adriel!" He said cheerfully then shied away encase he was being too enthusiastic. He was pleased the tentacles liked him and petted it happily. He blinked when his hat was snatched from his head, instantly little tears prickling. That was HIS hat! He reached to get it back until it was offered by Adriel. He eyed him, wondering if it was a trick before taking his hat back and putting in on his head and holding it there. "Mine..." He stated as if this would keep Adriel's tentacles at bay.
His mother was instantly showing her teeth, a sort of sharpness to them. She let out a growl from somewhere in the back of her throat and focused it on the tentacle, daring it to pull that stunt again. She closed her eyes, shuddering before she went back to her apathetic state. He as just a kid and they were obviously trouble by the way he was acting about them being touched. "You have no control over them, do you?" She questioned in a half apologetic voice. It was easy for her to get riled when Devan was upset.

Adriel shrank back from the woman when she showed her teeth at him. He knew his tentacles would get him in serious trouble someday he didn't think it would be so soon. And if he could control them he wouldn't of let them steal the hat inthe first place.
I...i'm....so..sorry." He stuttered his reply taking in each hand a tentacle and bringing them in close to his body. They resisted only for a moment before realizing something was amiss.
When the question popped up he shook his head. He had absolutely no control over them...and he doubted he ever would.
"They do bad things...I try and stop them but..." He murmured sounding very tired of it all. He was ever on his toes when he was around people. It made him ever so tired.

Devan looked confused at the boy. He couldn't control his own weird tentacles. He looked back at his tail to see if it was going to rebel on him but it only flickered back and forth, hardly a mind of its own. He turned his attention back on the new boy. "Mommy..." He whispered wanting her not to scare his new friend away.
The female stared at the boy critically. Poor kid. She boldly walked behind his swing and started to push it. She knew well that she was in their reach and she'd done it on purpose. The kid needed to learn discipline. "Want my advice, kid? Treat 'em how they act. They want to be bad? Fine. Learn a way to punish them for bad behavior. I don't care if you have to bite 'em. If it'll teach them that they need to listen, do it."
Devan on the other hand glared at Adriel in jealousy as his mom paid more attention to him. "Mommy!" He rose his voice, trying swing on his own. "Push me! I want pushed!"
The fox gave him a glare that sent him into silence. "Not now."

Feeling a bit awkward at being pushed whilst her little boy cried out for attention he could only cling to the swing as it moved. Which was awkward when one was trying to also keep hold of the tentacles in his hands. They were wriggling
As if they could sense the female near by they wanted at her but Adriel had a very tight hold on them...unfortunately...they were much stronger than he. As the swing swung forward one tentacle latched onto the metal beam they kept the whole playset standing. The swing jarred to a halt, nearly pulling Adriel off his seat. He was use to this. He knew that they wanted to be the ones in control.
"Ahh..." Adriel started but he didn't want the little boy to be scared of him. So instead he just slid off the seat slowly and walked towards the other tentacle that held firmly onto the beam. It seemed it was unlikely to let go.
"I i've tried to..to teach them...b..but." He gave a pathetic shrug. It was hard to discipline something that was by now much stronger than he was.
"Y..you ...should probably stay away...I can't...p..pull them off things or...o..people...an..anymore." He stuttered.

Jeniffer tilted her head as the kid jumped off and his tentacles. She was blunt, normally always figuring herself to be right. If something wasn't doing what you wanted, make it. It was just her way of thinking. She cared not if she offended someone or something.
Devan peeked out from behind the chain of his swing. The tentacles were kinda scary. He slid from his swing, using his tail to help brace him and stayed just shy of the range of the tentacles. "Hi..." He whispers insecurely.
The woman lets out a soft growl. "If you say so, kid." She watches Devan with an eagle eye. "One day, you'll have to learn to control them. Just remember that."
Devan doesn't seem to notice their fighting. He just watches Adriel. "... Wanna play?"

Adriel idly tried to get his tentacle to let go of the beam but was failing he looked a bit pathetic as he attempted and failed at getting it to let go. He wondered why it was being so stubborn. He noticed that Devan...the boy with pink wings had came to talk to him.
Looking down at the child he gave another wavering smile in return. "H...Hi..." He replied sheepishly. He looked like he had just been kicked by the woman's words he knew he would need to get htem to listen.....but it...was just ..so hard..and frusterating.
Play? The kid still wanted to play with him? He looked to his mother wondering if it was a good idea. "U....m...o..okay..." he replieda bit unsure.

Jeniffer just shrugged when the kid looked at her. If they wanted to play that was fine. She just gave a quick show of her teeth to warn him against hurting her son before going to sit in a patch of sun.
The gargoyle like child gave a shy smile. "Kay! Play!" He paused to think of how to play. He approached slowly managing to go into Adriel's range. He was a bit shy of the tentacles still. "Uhm...Tag!" He said quickly, tapping Adriel quickly and bolting a bit ahead. He stops and looks over his shoulder, tail wagging in a 'come on! Let's play!' gesture like a dog.

Adriel quailed at the woman's bared teeth...he wasn't so sure this was a good idea...what if his tentacles did something by accident? But suddenly he found himself being touched the tentacle around the pole released instantly as suddenly a much more interesting game had begun.
Chewing on his lower lip...he waffeled trying to decide if tag was an okay game to play, but his tentacles were reaching forward eager to play this new game. He decided...he better play this game...but make sure that he was bad at it.
Taking a couple steps towards Devan he then started to run for him, though it was half hearted as his gaze kept flickering at the woman who was now sunning herself.

Devan almost became afraid this new boy didn't know the game or didn't want to play with him when he hesitated. However, once he started to run, Devan's tail began to swing at full force. He DID want to play! He didn't realize the boy's attempts where half hearted and scrambled to get away. He let out a squeal of delight as he ducked behind a tree.
Jeniffer had her eyes closed but there were two things sticking from her hair that looked like fox ears. They hadn't been there before. They pointed in Devan's direction and followed his running steps.

Adriel guessed kids would be kids...though how Devan could get over his initial outburst from earlier so easily was something Adriel wished he could copy. He was nervous and a bit scared of the woman whom was Devan's mother. As he 'chased' Devan he made sure to be slow, even if his tentacles decided this was a game they enjoyed and were reaching out eagerly to grab hold of Devan.
When Devan ducked behind a tree he hesistated again as he no longer could see the boy directly. Carefully he snuck up trying to find Devan before his tentacles did.
