...I feel kinda "annoying" myself asking everyone all these questions...
So,I'm throwing the thoughts of Artist Alley, maybe I should just wait and yeah enjoy the con......So,I'm looking forward to Fanime 2009,maybe I could go....AAAAND SO,I want to know,okay...so I have questions again.=__=

Any tips you want to give me on my first time going to a con???
I'm not going to be cosplaying or anything sooo......LMAO what should I bring??I'm guess I'm going to get answers like "A LOT OF CASH TO SPEND" XD

IDK,just some tips.:]

For a four-day convention like fanime, you'll want to bring a LOT. xd A camera with several rolls of film is always good, as even if you don't like cosplayers there's always SOMETHING that you'll want to take a picture of. In addition to the usual travel essentials, you'll probably find that a travel-sized bottle of hand sanitizer can be a lifesaver. There are some pretty grubby otaku out there. >.< Make sure to always have a bottle of water with you, a couple hundred to a thousand people in a single room can make it heat up like a furnace.

And yeah, a lot of money. Conventions are expensive. You'll probably spend at least a hundred dollars on food alone.

AIRBORNE.

And USE IT.

Seriously. Nothing sucks like Con Plague from hundreds (if not thousands) of unwashed, sick, or otherwise filthy congoers. People will attend and not shower, or attend even if they're sick (because they planned to go and by god they're going). Plus, there's always those nasty-a** people who never wash after using the bathroom. (my kingdom for a "vomit" emote)

I've gotten some icky con funk after about half my cons, and actually went mute for one, I got so sick. (Pretty damn hard to try to sell things with laryngitis.)

AIRBORNE. Seriously.

Don't forget to eat! Be sure to separate your funds so that you have an amount strictly for food so that you're not left hungry after a spree in the dealer's room. Trust me, eating is far more important than owning that $50 figurine. smile

Also, stuff like advil or whatever are good since headaches can be a real downer at a con. smile

Having some purell or whatever with you is a great idea. Especially since you'll end up handling cash which is a huge carrier of germs. >.> Ick...

Hence the hand-sanitizer. 3nodding I use it right after I shake someone's hand, especially a cosplayers'. (Not because I think cosplayers are dirty or anything, but they tend to come into contact with a lot more people and thus have more of a reason to have germs on their hands.)

I've never gotten sick after a con, but I can see the use of things like Airborne. (I heard there's nothing that actually prevents you from getting sick in it, though. Just vitamins and stuff.)

List of the things mentioned so far:

-Hand Sanitizer
-Camera/Film
-Water
-Airborne
-Advil
-Food Money

Vitamins still help, though. ^^ I usually try to load up on vitamins before/at a convention to help keep from getting sick, and as a result I've really only gotten sick at one con. They help kick up your defenses so you can fight against whatever horrible diseases the Narutards and Bleachheads are carrying. 3nodding
