If you have vague ideas for a plot, but haven't the time, energy, or gumption to ACTUALLY write it out as a plot, please feel free to PM Llune about the idea.
In the subject line of the PM, just put, "PLOT IDEA," and then in the body, write a rough outline of the plot that you were thinking of. Not every idea will be used (or will they??), but, as Plot Staff, I will do my best to incorporate all the plot ideas I get into running plots, or other plots.
Also, not every plot idea will remain in its original form - some things may need to be changed in order to allow for plot blending... However, I will DEFINITELY make sure to mention all the folks that contributed to the root ideas of the plot.
For example... (And this JUST an example... Or is it??)
> SUBJECT LINE: > Plot Idea from Mr. Elf-guy > BODY: > Hey Llune, I had this idea for a plot: What if a big sea monster was > woken up by the hurricane and got washed inland to the cove? The > elves of the area would have to get rid of the monster or make friends > with it or something. That's all I've got for the idea though. Hope you > can use it!
> SUBJECT LINE: > Plot Idea from Ms. Elfikins > BODY: > Llune, I had a plot idea! What if there were seafaring humans - pirates > that came to the cove to plunder? They'd find the elves and there could > be a lot of fighting.
Using these two plot ideas (and possibly others), a general plot premise might say...
> GENERAL PLOT PREMISE: > After the great storm, while the elves of the cove still struggled to > rebuild their camp, there was a stirring in the vast-deep, out of view > from the shore. Racing against time and hope, seafaring humans fought > to escape a sea-creature they angered during a fishing expedition. > These humans land on the beach near the elves cove, with the sea > monster fast on their... er... fins...? Sure. Obviously, the elves > become quickly aware of the battle going on near their home, and may > choose whether or not to get involved. On the one hand, the sea > monster it a threat to all... On the other, if the elves side with the > humans to banish the monster, who knows what the humans will do once > the fight is over?" > - Special thanks to Mr. Elf-guy and Ms. Elfikins for contributing their > ideas, and inspiring this plot!!
... And this premise, once approved by the rest of staff, could be turned into a REAL plot (with all the formatting, chapters, etc.) later on, with MUCH less work on the players' parts.
What do you think? Let me know if this seems silly. But I would LOVE to try and get everyone's input on stuff, without you having to do the insane amount of fleshing out involved with writing a completed plot... This way everyone gets a chance to contribute to plots with their ideas, and I can do the dirty work! wink
