Second, learn the site's layout (part 1)
You just stumpled into one of the biggest and pointless sites in the internet, but still not as pointless as Hi5 for example. So what comes into your mind:
"What am I gona do now?"
Let's start by exploring a bit:
Gaia online offers several activities for you to do:
-Your AVI, your profile, your journal and your house, you can costumize them in anyway you want! except the AVI, oh and AVI stands for avatar, wich is the little tyke that represents you.
-Towns! kinda pointless, unless you have friends. Join up with other people to let your AVIs hang out in a giant, everlasting virtual town. Your house will also be around one of the towns (All towns look the same. Even parts of the same town look the same, hence it's pointless)
-Cinemas, ever saw ghostbusters? No? Go there now it's free! But do turn off all animations from other users, unless you like to see tomatos flying towards the screen every 3 seconds.
-Forums, they say Gaia is all about friendship! Nope, it's all about the GCD (Gaia community discussion) and the CB (Chatterbox), everything else is for specific ocasions, but do go and have a time! You'll earn gold! wahmbulance Beware several foruns contain trolls and spammers, if you see either of these in a single post: rofl ; biggrin or "BUMP" ; then you have just met a spammer. wahmbulance
-Shops, these are like the korindou shop, they have everything for everyone for every ocasion! Diference: They cost hell. Once I get to explain about the Gaia gold's golden rule, It will make more sense why shops aren't a good choice.

-Arenas: Empty houses, worthless 1 item Avis, and Emo paintings. Just press anything from the spotlight to evade you some misery. The arena is were you vote for other people's imagination (or lack thereof), in their own personal contest to gain 50.000 gaia gold, wich is abusively low, since most "cool" items are like 30k gold. Oh, there's an entry fee, so don't waste your breath entering, just vote in here for gold.
-Games! Yay! fun stuff to do when I got nothing to do! and there's gold to it. Oh crap, it's measly gold... anyways I can gain 600 gold in one shot, I just have to do this 300 pieces jigsaw ... *2 and a half hours later* ... was it worth, meh, I'll just fish... What, the fish are even less valuable than the bait!? And what's up with these lower than noobish leveled prizes? I'm out of here.... .... I'm kinda lost, since when did tis turn into my personal experience? Hell who cares! The games there are actually fun, so go and have a time. Just don't expect the other people in the room to be much responsive.
-Marketplace: This is where you get rich, this is actually your only base of income if your smart and don't want to pay real money. if you aren't smart, well, forget it, you'd just lose money anyway.
-Gaia store: [dark]...Keep away from this, this is the axis of doom in gaia, one of those o called places where oney crosses with the internet...[/dark]
Ok, this is the place where you can pay Gaia cash, wish is the virtual representation of "Real money", (yup, US dollars) for the coolest, newest items avaiable! Also, where you get one of those 30k+ gaia gold items.

dont forget if u nned free stuff and gold do the daily chance everyday in each of them( home, my gaia, world, community, etc)
