Walking amongst the grass of the meadows the winged mare sighed and shook her head. Scars adorned her body from fights with kalonas and yet she seemed not to care. Revenge was the only thing on her mind but yet her mind was slowly shutting down. She was tired and lonely. If only she had someone to talk to and confide in then her mind wouldn't be so full.
Pausing midstep she couldn't help but smile as she thought back to her one and only childhood friend. Neva had never made any other friends since then. She felt she could get through life without this thing known as friendship but that was soon to change even if she herself did not know it.

Once again Mel found himself resting in the shade on a warm day while his daughter ran and played around in the fields. She seemed to be getting bored with just bugs now though and just knew sooner or later she was going to try and find something bigger and more exciting. Hopefully something that wouldn't hurt her. The day wasn't as hot as before but it was still fairly warm, the temperature in the shade being perfect for him at the moment so he was content where he was.
His eyes traveled around the land every now and again to check that his daughter could play safely without anything sneaking up on her, or him for that matter, and his eyes fell on a very familiar looking wind in the distance. Why did the mare look so familiar? Her colors...He tried to think his hardest and go back in time to figured where she was in his past and finally remember the first foal he'd met as a kid. Neva.
Finally getting up on his hooves he trotted over to his daughter. "Kahili, I don't want you running off, you understand?" he said sternly. "You could try and find some frogs or maybe some fish if you're lucky in the river but do not go anywhere else or I'll drag you right back to your mother and you can stay there, got it?" As she nodded with a smile and took off towards the river he slowly headed down to where his old friend stood. "It's been a while, Neva. What've you been up to?" he asked with a smile before he saw all the scars that covered her body. He was too polite to ask, in case he brought up some bad memories or something.

Looking up at the arrival of the other soquili Neva couldn't quite place the stallion at first. Then it clicked. Her childhood friend. "I've been round and about." The winged mare said with nod. She noticed the look he had when he noticed her scars and she couldn't help but shake her head. "Run in with Kalonas that's all."
She looked at her old childhood friend and was kind of amazed at how much he grew. Her attention was caught by something playing not far away. "Is the little one over there with you?" she asked as she turned her attention back to the stallion. It had been a long time since she managed to say something without being mean and sarcastic...and in a scary way it was relaxing.

Mel just nodded and didn't go into anymore about the scars or the run in with the kalonas. He turned his head to look at the filly running around and again just nodded. "Yeah that's my daughter. She'll be running around for quite some time before she finally decides to sit for about five minutes." He just shook his head with a smile before looking back to his old friend. "So how've you been? Minus the kalona thing." He headed to some shade and settled down in it to relax as he waited for her to come over, or at least answer his question.

Daughter? Man it had been a long time if he had kids already. She wandered over behind him and settled down into the shade as well. "For the most part I've been good. Left my family as soon as I was old enough and haven't been back since." She said with a small nod. "I've met some of the most interesting characters. Such as an angeni who claimed the whole forest was his, little bug things that changed size, and an unikalona who let me go free. What have you been up to?"

"You haven't been back to see your family? Not once?" he asked curiously. Though he himself hadn't seen his parents since he'd left at least he'd gotten back together with his siblings. He'd also been meaning to find his parents now that they had grandchildren to meet. "I've met some good friends. A uniflutter who's a really good friend of mine. Another friend who happens to be the mother of my two kids and just a couple others. I've been pretty busy being a new parent and all so yeah I haven't gotten out much to meet new people."

Neva shook her head in reply to Mel's question. "No. And I don't ever intend on it either unless by some chance meeting." She listened to her old friend talk as she rested. It was the first time in a long time where she actually took time out to rest. "I haven't met any new friends." the winged mare said as she looked out towards the water. "What's it like being a father?"

Mel shrugged at her question. "It's alright. I don't feel much different, I just have a little foal come with me everywhere I go now," he said with a chucke. Her earlier statement had him a bit worried though. How could someone not want to go and see their family? Hadn't they treated her right when she was a kid? "Neva, they're your family. Family includes some of the most important people on this planet. They put you here, they raised you. Why wouldn't you want to go and at least pay them one small visit?" He nudged her lightly with a tilt of his head. "Did they do something bad that would make you hate them so?"

Neva couldn't help but smile a little bit at his comment but the smile soon vanished. "Why would I want to go visit that stupid family?" she muttered as she glared at a blade of grass. "We're skydancers! Nicey Nice family! Never harm a living thing! We can help you!" she mocked her family as her gaze on the grass blade got angrier. "Now tell me...why would I want to go back to that?"

Mel's expression didn't change at all through her rant but he did listen carefully. "Because it sounds like they care about you. Like family should. I understand that they'd want you to be nice, no parent wants to believe that their child is bad. And of course they don't want you to hurt anything or anyone, that's a given." He paused for a second to study her reaction before going on. "Are you bad, Neva? Do you try to be mean and hurt things? Because I don't see you as that person. You're good, at least you used to be. You were one of my few friends as a kid and we had fun right? You can still be like that if you want to."
((Sorry I got off into a rant there xD))
