Eleaith had wandered away from her den earlier that morning, telling her children she needed to take the day off to balance her emotions. They'd accepted it pretty easily, just as she had expected. She'd taken care of her duties earlier, so she didnt have to worry about neglecting them. She could just relax.
The purple lioness took her sweet time to stroll to the outer edges of the territory, and finally ended up in a clearing about a half a day away from the main pride. It would be a walk back, but it was worth it. Sitting in the center of the clearing, she breathed slowly. It was relaxing listening to the sounds of the jungle around her.
He was nothing but a traveler with wanderlust, that was all he had ever been, from the moment he had taken his first breath in the world. It was no surprise that his travels had drawn him across the world, or that they had brought him to some of the more remote ones gone unvisited by most of the population.
It was with a soft hum on his maw that he made his way through the thin boundary of the jungle, the bright, brilliant locks of his mane flopping slightly as he bobbed his head to whatever tune it was. As he came upon the clearing, it was with a certain amount of surprise that his eyes fell upon the female sitting there, although surprise never lasted long where females were concerned - after all, they were females. "Hello there," he cooed, calmly, though he didn't take another step forward. Oh, he'd seen his fair share of snappy lionesses.
The first thing Eleaith had thought when she'd heard the approach of another was disappointment. She was so sure it was going to be a messenger from the pride telling her that her presence was needed. The lioness was surprised at the sound of a male voice, and even more surprised when she turned to look at him.
He was an outsider lion, who was bright enough to rival many of the males in the pride with his green and pink coat. He had some white on him, but not enough to really be a bother.
Moving away from her initial appraisal, she immediately moved to distrust. "Hello." Her tone was practically void of emotion, but her features where haughty.
He immediately felt a sting of disappointment at the emotionless tone of her voice as she replied to him, especially when coupled with that haughty look on her face. That was a shame, to be perfectly honest, because she was such a bright and beautiful thing. Of course, there were very few lionesses that he didn't find beautiful, given his affinity to simple woo them all given any little chance.
"I was wondering if perhaps you could tell me exactly where I am?" he could smell the scent of many more lions on the wind, which meant inevitably that there was a pride nearby. That was probably where she was from, and rather than push his luck and take another step towards her (and maybe another step inside the territory) he stayed put. Oh, he might have been a shameless flirt, but he wasn't an idiot.
Now that he'd been sufficiently put off, she dropped some of her haughtiness. Though, the tone of his voice when he'd first walked up had definitely implied interest, possibly in more than just casual conversation.
It was in this moment that she realized this lion could be the means to an end for her. Eleaith had been mulling over having another litter of cubs, a new heiress to the chatri could be trained up right, and the more the merrier within the clan. The lion certainly was bright enough... maybe she could play along in this game.
"Your in the jungle of the Kunanda'Nakhun."

Well, at least she hadn't bitten his head off thus far, or made any motion to act hostile, so he judged that perhaps it was safe to move forward and risk it. Taking a few steps out of the shrubbery around him, he walked fully into the clearing, still a good distance from her, but at least he was at a more conversational distance.
He had no idea of her intentions, after all, how could he? He was a charmer by nature, it came almost as natural as his wanderlust. "Strange, I've never heard of the Kunanda'Nakhun," he said with a rather calm face, his tail flickering behind him, "although it must be a wonderful place if it produces such strong, beautiful lionesses." As cheesey as it sounded, he managed to make it roll off in quite the charming tone.
And it couldnt have been a more appropriate compliment, considering the way the pride was run. Yes, this man could be just the thing, but Eleaith wondered how strong he was. It wouldnt do to have a male sire that wasnt the right fit. "We are a secretive pride, though I would have to agree with on the last part." She let out a smile with her last words.
But how to test his strength? The purple lioness pondered for a few seconds before just deciding to wing it. "Whats your name, stranger?"
That smile drew his own, making him believe it was safe to take a few more steps and settle down comfortably to his haunches. Maybe this wouldn't be such a failed attempt after all if he tried to get a little.. closer. That seemed to be one of his great pleasures in life, to be honest. "Secretive? Well, that just makes it seem even more interesting, kind of.. mysterious." The last word was said with a sort of purr, though his smile turned into a smirk.
"My name, m'lady, is Misri, what would yours happen to be?" he said with a small quirk of his brow, tilting his head to the side with his curiosity.
Eleaith smiled even more at the fact that her plan was working. He'd settled in comfortably a few steps away from her. "My name is Eleaith."
She rose gracefully up off the ground and looked at him straight on. "I dont suppose, that you'd like to go somewhere more..." She paused, trying to think of a word that sounded enticing. It was a little bit different to not just order a male to do pretty much as she pleased. "private?" It was the best she could come up with on short notice, but Eleaith hoped he would think it was just because they were in an open clearing.
"Eleaith," he said, adding a flourished purr to his tone as he did so, "that is a beautiful name." It was, actually, quite a pretty name as far as he was concerned - but it seemed his flirting was working well with her. She responded better than he originally thought she would have, which meant, well, he might end up getting somewhere after all.
His eyebrow almost quirked at the words that rolled off her tongue, quite surprised by how forward she was. He pushed himself to his feet with a little smile, nodding to her as he took a few steps closer. "That sounds delightful," he said softly, slowly, in fact thinking that maybe she was a little more into him than he had thought, "ladies first?"

The words 'ladies first' had been just what she was looking for. She started off at a gentle trot towards the treeline, and turned back to him with a smile. "Make sure you keep up, the jungle can be a dangerous place if lost." At that she took off, going as fast as she could without hurting herself.
She'd thought of it just a few moments before, a small endurance test. It wasnt going to be for very long, and Eleaith had a spot in mind that she remembered from the last time she'd gone exploring. It was a little different this time though, as the jungle had changed in her absence.
Looking back, she made sure that the male was following before she got too far ahead.
"I don't think you need to worry about me," he said calmly, expecting her to simply start off at a trot. How was he supposed to know that her pride put a great deal of emphasis on strength and that this was, in all actuality, a strange sort of test? He wasn't very good at seeing alterior motives.
As she took off ahead of him, he let a soft frown crease his maw, picking up speed and maneuvering the best he could through the jungle. He was a rogue, had been his whole life, which meant he was used to some rough terrains. He had spent some time in jungles, which meant he didnt trip up very easily, and his lifestyle certainly gave him endurance enough. The speeds she was going at were certainly benefited by her living here, though, he was sure. At least he managed to keep his pride by not falling, even if he couldn't catch up to her - he refused to fall flat on his face and look like an idiot. He was sure he could talk his way out of it in the end, play it off as just being unfamiliar with the terrain, which wasn't really a lie after all.
In truth, Eleaith was pleased at how the male... Misri was keeping up with her. She had deviated off of the game trails, and into the thicket of the jungle, but still he was there behind her. The lioness knew he wouldnt catch up, even in her older age Eleaith prided herself in being agile, but she was still happy nontheless.
The spot came into view relatively quickly- it was an outcropping that jutted out into a placid pond. The pond was big enough to comfortably swim in, and didnt house any of the normal river beasties. The copse was pleasant enough as well, with large trees sheltering it.
The lioness stopped on the inside of it, and put on her best smile for the male, so he'd see it when he caught up. The fact that she could still see him meant that he'd passed the test. Eleaith also did her best to look like nothing had happened at all.
As the copse ahead finally came into view, and he could see that the lioness had stopped, a small wave of relief washed over him. He took a last leap from the clingy, tangling shrubbery of the jungle, landing solidly on the clearer grass of the copse with a smile already spreading across his maw. He drew a deep breath, but aside from that, he didn't seem particularly winded.
"Well, that was rather refreshing," he said with a gentle laugh, the pink-tipped tail flickering behind him with a slight lash. He was good at managing to play it off rather non-chalant, downplaying it to little more than a nice jog or something of the sort.
"It was rather refreshing. You kept up rather well too." Eleaith changed her smile into something a little more seductive... or at least she hoped she did. It had been a while since the last time she'd played this particular game, considering all of her children were now well into their adulthood. And besides, the last time had been with a pride male.
Brushing off thoughts of the past, she sat down gently on her haunches, patting the ground next to her with a paw. "Come and sit."

"I'm glad you noticed. I'm afraid my big ol' paws aren't suited to work so nimbly as yours," his words were almost cooed, especially as that smile seemed to alter to something much more, well, seductive, he'd say. It was encouraging, to say the least, and he couldn't help letting his smile spread into a smirk.
When invited to sit down at her side, he didn't even hesitate. Stalking over slowly, he sat down gently on his haunches, eyes drifting out towards the pond, and then back towards her. "Why exactly is such a fine lady out all by her lonesome?" It was small talk, but small talk was really just a conversation filler.
Everything was going so perfectly, Eleaith couldnt help but be happy. She loved it when things went her way. "I'm taking a day off."
Her black eyes turned to his. "And what brings you into the jungle dear sir?" Not that it really mattered all that much, but it was something other than awkward silence. She was glad for small talk.
A day off? That sounded rather like it meant she was important in her pride, of some sort powerful role. That certainly made things a little more interesting, in his mind.
"I'm afraid I'm a victim of wanderlust. I've been all over, and today just happened to bring me here to this beautiful jungle of yours," he said with a small shrug, his charming smile still plastered on his mug. "I'm certainly glad I found it though," he let his brows raise slightly at the words, watching her.
"Well, everything happens for a reason, Misri." Eleaith practically purred his name. She moved closer to him as well, giving him the go ahead as far as physical proximity.
She knew her children would probably be horrified that their mother had gotten pregnant again after all this time, but Eleaith didnt care much. The lioness actually found it rather amusing. She just had to make sure not to screw it up.
"That it does," he said with an amused little purr on his words as she scooted closer, his tail flickering against the ground. Something in his eyes clearly read that he was pleased, dancing with what also seemed to be a bit of mischeif, though who could honestly blame him for that. He leaned his head down, that growling purr still rumbling in his throat, and let a delicate nuzzle brush against her neck. "That it does."
As far as he was concerned, she was just looking for a little fun, a break from whatever job it was she had to do. Everyone wanted a little fun now and then, he knew that all too well from his journeys too, and who was he to judge? It wasn't like this wasn't exactly what he wanted, after all.
