GLOSS AND CURLS OVERALL SCORE:
89/100

    Question ONE
Did the person include a giraffe, and include it in a way that shows a fitness to the theme,
    not just placed in.

Did the person also use no brushes, textures, basically follow the rules of the contest.

It's obvious a giraffe was included for the reason of making the theme, not just to be in the profile D:<

    Brushes are not used
No textures, yatta yatta yatta. good job

    20/20

    Question Two
Is it visually appealing? On first glance what do
you want to keep visiting, or does it strike you
    as simply boring.

To me the giraffe is visual appealing, it's really well made, and he's just fun to look at.

however, the main focus seems to be on the actual ART of the profile, and not the profile itself, where as the art is the profile it still leaves the content out.

    16/20

    Question Three

Is the profile flawed? what are the problems with
the profile, loud autoplay music, miss-coded
    sections.

No auto play rofl the only problem is how big the profile is, why the art is nice the big size of it is kinda distracting to me :/
and specially seeing how small the content is.

    17/20

    Question Four
Was effort put into it? Does it look as if the
person placed time and strain on their work?
Or did they slap it together to fit the theme?

Effort seems to be put into the art, which is the profile.
however effort on the content part of it seems to be lacking :/

    17/20

    Question Five

Is the content accessible? is a userbar present,
about section easily readable, can you leave a comment
ect. [note this does not have to be details, journal ect.]

Content, is accessible, it's hard to find the userbar buttons at first,
and it's hard to really read the about sections, comments, they're all so lacking.

    15/20

    Final Comments
What are your final comments on this profile, sum up your thoughts here please.

Gloss, you're last profile was alot better then this one personally, I love the art, however it doesn't feel like a profile, it feels like a drawing you added content to, I suggest making more defined sections.

FINAL SCORE 85/100

    Question ONE
Did the person include a giraffe, and include it in a way that shows a fitness to the theme,
    not just placed in.

Did the person also use no brushes, textures, basically follow the rules of the contest.

Yes, the person followed the rules of the contest. The way that the user applied the giraffe was also extremely creative.

    20/20

    Question Two
Is it visually appealing? On first glance what do
you want to keep visiting, or does it strike you
    as simply boring.

Well, it's not boring. It is something that makes me want to visit again.

However, there are parts that could have been done better. The biggest mistake I see is an overuse of the Violation font. It looks good in some places, but there is too much of it.

The hover on the About seems weird as well. If the hover is there to make the section easier to read, then just set the default text color as the hover color. It can be distracting that the color changes.

The main points off for this are because of the overuse of Violation. It is a prominent defect on your profile and I recommend trying to vary your font use. You can use Violation, but try to include other fonts as well.

    16/20

    Question Three

Is the profile flawed? what are the problems with
the profile, loud autoplay music, miss-coded
    sections.

I don't see any flaws on the profile. However, I recommend messing around a bit more with the navbar so that it blends well. It would help if you replaced the Gaia logo with one that has an invisible background.

    19/20

    Question Four
Was effort put into it? Does it look as if the
person placed time and strain on their work?
Or did they slap it together to fit the theme?

It looks like a lot of effort was put into the profile. The sections were placed carefully and many details were put into the main background.

    20/20

    Question Five

Is the content accessible? is a userbar present,
about section easily readable, can you leave a comment
ect. [note this does not have to be details, journal ect.]

The About is fairly readable, although there is the hovering flaw that I mentioned earlier. You can leave a comment and the userbar is present.

However, the userbar might be hard for some users to find. If you're concerned with that, I would recommend having them visible without hovering.

    18/20

    Final Comments
What are your final comments on this profile, sum up your thoughts here please.

This is a good profile. I usually dislike profiles where there is a central image with all of the content on the bottom, but that doesn't bother me on this profile.

    I don't understand why the friend sign cuts in half when you hover though. ;-;

FINAL SCORE 93/100

    Question ONE
Did the person include a giraffe, and include it in a way that shows a fitness to the theme,
    not just placed in.

Did the person also use no brushes, textures, basically follow the rules of the contest.

DEFINETLY NOT. Its very giraffey. and its clear to see no brushes or textures have been used

    20/20

    Question Two
Is it visually appealing? On first glance what do
you want to keep visiting, or does it strike you
    as simply boring.

Its, certainly interesting, and while for one I'm usually fond of profiles that look like something else (in this case giraffe portrait) I feel that this profile is too much portrait and not enough profile. However, as a result the scene is definetly something that requires time to be properly taken in

    17/20

    Question Three
Is the profile flawed? what are the problems with
the profile, loud autoplay music, miss-coded
    sections.

As I said before, this profile isnt very profile like. There are no clearly designated areas for the content and as a result the text is very hard to read. I think this design would have been better suited as just an artwork.

    17/20

    Question Four
Was effort put into it? Does it look as if the
person placed time and strain on their work?
Or did they slap it together to fit the theme?

I think the maker tried dilligently to follow the rules, and feel that that this is what may have led them astray concerning the comment above. Regardless, I think its safe to say the effort is definetly there.

    20/20

    Question Five
Is the content accessible? is a userbar present,
about section easily readable, can you leave a comment
ect. [note this does not have to be details, journal ect.]

As aforementioned the profile is very hard to read. The only thing I found easily accesible was the music button I'm afraid.

    15/20

    Final Comments
What are your final comments on this profile, sum up your thoughts here please.

I was in love with this profile designwise. Its just a terrible shame that not all users can enjoy it to full extent. Dont get me wrong, I think dropdown menu's are fantastic. Just not practical.

I think the effort put into the design and detail of the scene caused Gloss to forfeit her willingness to add content, but I cant really blame her for getting carried away with her design xD

GUMMIBEAR FIZZ: OVERALL SCORE 94.8

    Question ONE
Did the person include a giraffe, and include it in a way that shows a fitness to the theme,
    not just placed in.

Did the person also use no brushes, textures, basically follow the rules of the contest.

Yess a mighty cute one at that, and it is built into the theme, not tacked on.
brushes don't seem to be used.

    20/20

    Question Two
Is it visually appealing? On first glance what do
you want to keep visiting, or does it strike you
    as simply boring.

Super appealing, frankly upon clicking it, I felt utterly happy to see this profile, smooth, nice on the eyes, and a real sleepy feeling in it.

    20/20

    Question Three

Is the profile flawed? what are the problems with
the profile, loud autoplay music, miss-coded
    sections.

Auto play so I will deduct some points, however it's so soft, and goes with the theme so much, I'm only going to tack off a half point, because frankly, when I don't even notice the auto play, and it does nothing but put me in the mood of you're profile I find that a good thing.

other then that no other noticeable flaws.

    19.5/20

    Question Four
Was effort put into it? Does it look as if the
person placed time and strain on their work?
Or did they slap it together to fit the theme?

Of course effort is shown, In all of her profiles gummi includes effort, this one seems no different, perhaps a little less effort then last time, but overall effort effort blah blah blah

    19/20

    Question Five

Is the content accessible? is a userbar present,
about section easily readable, can you leave a comment
ect. [note this does not have to be details, journal ect.]

lawls the user bar was hard to find at first, for me, so I was gonna deduct points. make it perhaps a little more visible? it blends in with the main text.

the text is somewhat small, so it can be hard to read, and it's a really dull color that almost seems to blend in with the about section but not really.

    18/20
    Final Comments
What are your final comments on this profile, sum up your thoughts here please.

Gloss, you're last profile was alot better then this one personally, I love the art, however it doesn't feel like a profile, it feels like a drawing you added content to, I suggest making more defined sections.

FINAL SCORE 96.5/100

    Question ONE
Did the person include a giraffe, and include it in a way that shows a fitness to the theme,
    not just placed in.

Did the person also use no brushes, textures, basically follow the rules of the contest.

The way that this person applied the giraffe was amazing. The user did a great job in executing the theme.

    20/20

    Question Two
Is it visually appealing? On first glance what do
you want to keep visiting, or does it strike you
    as simply boring.

It is very nice to look at, and it is memorable. I usually dislike the use of Times New Roman on a profile but this user used it in a way that didn't distract from the theme.

The only problem I see with this profile is the navbar. Compared to the blended and pastel nature of the profile, the navbar seems a bit blaring. I would recommend replacing the Gaia logo with one that has an invisible background, and lowering the opacity on the bar.

    18/20

    Question Three

Is the profile flawed? what are the problems with
the profile, loud autoplay music, miss-coded
    sections.

There is autoplay music, but it is not loud and can be turned off.

I don't see any other flaws in the respect of coding or technicalities.

    19/20

    Question Four
Was effort put into it? Does it look as if the
person placed time and strain on their work?
Or did they slap it together to fit the theme?

It looks like this user put a lot of effort into the layout. She paid attention to detail.

    20/20

    Question Five

Is the content accessible? is a userbar present,
about section easily readable, can you leave a comment
ect. [note this does not have to be details, journal ect.]

    It is all accessible.

The About might work better with a larger font size (this comment does not affect your score).

However, the userbar almost blends in too much with the layout. It took me a moment to find them because they looked like a part of the image. I'm not really sure how to explain...maybe add a hover effect so that they are more noticable?

    19/20

    Final Comments
What are your final comments on this profile, sum up your thoughts here please.

This is a great profile. Good job to the creator.

"I'll bite you to death"~ rofl

FINAL SCORE 96/100

    Question ONE
Did the person include a giraffe, and include it in a way that shows a fitness to the theme,
    not just placed in.

Did the person also use no brushes, textures, basically follow the rules of the contest.

The person showed a giraffe, and in a most original way. However, the theme itself would have worked just as well without the giraffe. So the profile could have centered better around the theme as a whole. The profile also manages to create a soft textured look without the use of actual textures.

    17/20

    Question Two
Is it visually appealing? On first glance what do
you want to keep visiting, or does it strike you
    as simply boring.

The profile is visually appealing, a soft serenic look that isnt too overbearing makes it a nice page to remain in. The simplicity of the profile itself means that not many revisits are required but the design is warm and welcome prompting for more time spent.

    18/20

    Question Three
Is the profile flawed? what are the problems with
the profile, loud autoplay music, miss-coded
    sections.

The music is autoplay but this can be justified as the music is soft and fits with the theme of the profile in addition to the button to stop it being easily located. My main problem would be where the profile starts and finishes. I feel is if theres an eensy bit cut off by the left of the screen and that the cloudy effect is cut off abruptly at the right. This is a problem that perhaps could have been avoided by centering

    17/20

    Question Four
Was effort put into it? Does it look as if the
person placed time and strain on their work?
Or did they slap it together to fit the theme?

It would appear that maximum effort has been put into the profile, the header and footer are scenic paintery and the cloud effect would have taken much use of colouring and erasing. All the colours have been carefully chosen in this one

    20/20

    Question Five
Is the content accessible? is a userbar present,
about section easily readable, can you leave a comment
ect. [note this does not have to be details, journal ect.]

There is no userbar present. However the text is readable, the links organised and I spent no time at all turning the music off. Were I to be looking for any specific information I'm sure I would have been able to find it without hinderance.

    20/20

    Final Comments

I like it, its adorable and really out of the box considering the theme. Gummi has a good reputation for working with pastels and I think she applied them really well to the challenge.

Did the person include a giraffe, and include it in a way that shows a fitness to the theme,
    not just placed in.

Did the person also use no brushes, textures, basically follow the rules of the contest.

    no brushes, yes giraffe
    20/20

    Question Two
Is it visually appealing? On first glance what do
you want to keep visiting, or does it strike you
    as simply boring.

some what bland, really glossy, the drop down menus are effective on catching my attention.

real shiny, kinda lacking in ways. No PEZAH

    18/20

    Question Three

Is the profile flawed? what are the problems with
the profile, loud autoplay music, miss-coded
    sections.

    no autoplay D:< that's good.
    not really any flaws,
    details are kinda small.

    19/20

    Question Four
Was effort put into it? Does it look as if the
person placed time and strain on their work?
Or did they slap it together to fit the theme?

With the coding needed to do drop down menus, it does seem like effort was placed in it, frankly I think the whole thing although lacking in many shiny graphics seems to have "work" labeled all over it.

    20/20

    Question Five

Is the content accessible? is a userbar present,
about section easily readable, can you leave a comment
ect. [note this does not have to be details, journal ect.]

    Details hard to read,
More then enough content to look at due to links section.
gallery awesome everything=win in the content department

    20/20

    Final Comments
What are your final comments on this profile, sum up your thoughts here please.

Once again love your vectors, and shinyness, drop down menus= win.

A pattern in the background might have spiced this up a bit.
but overall it's a simple nice profile that follows the guidelines and looks good doing it.

FINAL SCORE 97/100

    Question ONE
Did the person include a giraffe, and include it in a way that shows a fitness to the theme,
    not just placed in.

Did the person also use no brushes, textures, basically follow the rules of the contest.

Yes, the user followed the rules of the contest. The use of the giraffe was creative and the user even redid their avatar to match and enhance the Safari feel of the profile.

    20/20

    Question Two
Is it visually appealing? On first glance what do
you want to keep visiting, or does it strike you
    as simply boring.

Yes, it is. The colors work well together and the graphics fit. I usually dislike the use of a lot of gradients in a profile, but this user was able to apply them without overusing them.

    20/20

    Question Three

Is the profile flawed? what are the problems with
the profile, loud autoplay music, miss-coded
    sections.

I don't see any flaws in Firefox.

However, in IE7 the comments are an odd color (this comment did not affect your score).

    20/20

    Question Four
Was effort put into it? Does it look as if the
person placed time and strain on their work?
Or did they slap it together to fit the theme?

It looks like a lot of effort was put into it! The user added a gallery, which can require a lot of effort. But mostly, the dropdown menus are what seem to have taken a lot of effort. The user took the time to adjust the small details of the profile so that they looked perfect.

    20/20

    Question Five

Is the content accessible? is a userbar present,
about section easily readable, can you leave a comment
ect. [note this does not have to be details, journal ect.]

Yes, everything is accessible. The About is easily read, comments can be left, and a userbar is present. The navbar is also accessible.

    Final Comments

This is truly an amazing profiles. The dropdowns are fabulous and were executed extremely well. Good job.

Did the person include a giraffe, and include it in a way that shows a fitness to the theme,
    not just placed in.

Did the person also use no brushes, textures, basically follow the rules of the contest.

Certainly not. Everything from colour scheme to other graphics have been centered around giraffes. There are no traces of brushes or textures whatsoever either.

    20/20

    Question Two
Is it visually appealing? On first glance what do
you want to keep visiting, or does it strike you
    as simply boring.

I'll admit it, I loved this profile from the moment I saw it. The profile is cute, compact and original. Definetly something I'd revisit

    20/20

    Question Three
Is the profile flawed? what are the problems with
the profile, loud autoplay music, miss-coded
    sections.

I had to bring up IE to check this one for as soon as I found the dropdown menu I had my worries which were confirmed. The dropdown menu doesnt work in IE in addition to the comments links being out of place.
The compact effect looks nice but its not something I'd sacrifice compatibility for.

    15/20

    Question Four
Was effort put into it? Does it look as if the
person placed time and strain on their work?
Or did they slap it together to fit the theme?

It looks like a lot of effort was put into it. all the graphics look hand vectored and the user even changed her avatar to fit in with the theme of the profile. It sounds like the music was carefully chosen to go with the theme too.

    20/20

    Question Five
Is the content accessible? is a userbar present,
about section easily readable, can you leave a comment
ect. [note this does not have to be details, journal ect.]

Most of the content isnt accessible for IE users but the text is easy to read. The details look a little small but they make me feel good about my eyesight because I was able to read them without squinting (so it cant be as small as it appears.)

    17/20

    Final Comments

Did the person include a giraffe, and include it in a way that shows a fitness to the theme,
    not just placed in.

Did the person also use no brushes, textures, basically follow the rules of the contest.

Giraffe is used, in a rather unique way, kinda just placed in their though, the theme could stand alone with out the giraffe

no brushes, patterns yes, but they're ok.

    18/20

    Question Two
Is it visually appealing? On first glance what do
you want to keep visiting, or does it strike you
    as simply boring.

monochrome is hard to pull of usually, but I think you did a decent job of it, not much too look at, but in general what's there doesn't make me want to leave right away.

however nothing makes me want to "stay"

    18/20

    Question Three

Is the profile flawed? what are the problems with
the profile, loud autoplay music, miss-coded
    sections.

You have no auto play this time, that's a good improvement.

only flaws are scroll bars, they really are gross, I think you should try to hide them, it gives the same effect and doesn't distract from the layout.

The add comment and view comments aren't centered that makes me a little :/

the whole comment section is a little iffy.

for sure get rid of the bright patches, they distract from the theme.

oh and don't take out the gaia bar at top, the black would go fine with the theme

    17/20

    Question Four
Was effort put into it? Does it look as if the
person placed time and strain on their work?
Or did they slap it together to fit the theme?

Personally I see effort placed in the graphic, not so much the content sections, nothing seems to be done with them.

    18/20

    Question Five

Is the content accessible? is a userbar present,
about section easily readable, can you leave a comment

I actually like seeing you're designs, don't stop making them, you show some real potential to become a web-designer, or just in general a good graphics maker.

keep working on you're profiles and they'll get better with time.

FINAL SCORE 89/100

    Question ONE
Did the person include a giraffe, and include it in a way that shows a fitness to the theme,
    not just placed in.

Did the person also use no brushes, textures, basically follow the rules of the contest.

There are no brushes and there is a giraffe. However, the giraffe doesn't really seem like it fits in well with the theme. It looks like it was put their just because it was a requirement.

    15/20

    Question Two
Is it visually appealing? On first glance what do
you want to keep visiting, or does it strike you
    as simply boring.

The color scheme is a bit bland. Grayscale can work, but there needs to be more contrast. It would also have helped if the profile had more content to balance out the subtlely of its colors.

Also, the font used for the credit does not fit well. It's not smooth and it's hard to read. Using a different font would be advisable.

    14/20

    Question Three

Is the profile flawed? what are the problems with
the profile, loud autoplay music, miss-coded
    sections.

I don't see any flaws. There is music, but it's not autoplay.

    20/20

    Question Four
Was effort put into it? Does it look as if the
person placed time and strain on their work?
Or did they slap it together to fit the theme?

There are signs of effort, like the application of patterns on the profile. However, I believe that more effort could be used to make the profile more elaborate. I also would recommend changing the hover on links.

    17/20

    Question Five

Is the content accessible? is a userbar present,
about section easily readable, can you leave a comment
ect. [note this does not have to be details, journal ect.]

The About is fairly easy to read, although a larger font could be better (this comment did not affect your score).

The add/view comments links are easily accessible.

    However, there is no userbar.

I like how the profile is compatible with IE (this comment does not affect your score).

    18/20

    Final Comments
What are your final comments on this profile, sum up your thoughts here please.

It's not bad, but there isn't much to how it looks. It's not a very striking profile and it sort of blends together because there isn't enough contrast among the shades of gray.

FINAL SCORE 84/100

    Question ONE
Did the person include a giraffe, and include it in a way that shows a fitness to the theme,
    not just placed in.

Did the person also use no brushes, textures, basically follow the rules of the contest.

The backround for the profile is a little questionable, but this is a backround I've seen many a time before. So its safe to assume its not a brush. A giraffe was placed in the profile, but due to the nature in which it was placed it could have easily been anything else without affecting the theme.

    16/20

    Question Two
Is it visually appealing? On first glance what do
you want to keep visiting, or does it strike you
    as simply boring.

The profile is very minimalistic. As a result of this there is nothing to drive the viewer away from it, but at the same time there is nothing much to keep the user there either.

    16/20

    Question Three
Is the profile flawed? what are the problems with
the profile, loud autoplay music, miss-coded
    sections.

The profile is entirely functional in terms of both coding and design. I was a little thrown of by the placement of the headers of the sections, but it was a very minor issue.

    Question Four
Was effort put into it? Does it look as if the
person placed time and strain on their work?
Or did they slap it together to fit the theme?

My apologies if it wasnt, but I believe the user was very uninspired this round. While I do think compact profiles are nice. I think more could have been done than just boxes and stripes.

    Question Five
Is the content accessible? is a userbar present,
about section easily readable, can you leave a comment
ect. [note this does not have to be details, journal ect.]

although minimal, the content was in plain sight. and the profiles simplicity makes everything easily found

    Final Comments
What are your final comments on this profile, sum up your thoughts here please.

I was in love with this profile designwise. Its just a terrible shame that not all users can enjoy it to full extent. Dont get me wrong, I think dropdown menu's are fantastic. Just not practical.

As I said, I feel this profile was uninspired. I do however feel this challenge may have been a good experience for Oath, who appears to have been dependant on brushes. Balance is key : )
