Another day, another dollar? Whatever those were…
Lena blinked sleepiliy around her before straightening up and taking to the sky. Her body lifted off as gracefully as it could. She was not the best at flying as she was rather young. She had heard that some soquilis actually met up in the skies and it was such a balmy pleasant day that surely another would be out enjoying their own wings. Sure, she had seen black dots on the verizon or someone going up when she went down, but never had she actually had a conversation.
It was something new to attempt, no?
Hoping tomake the day into something of a success she balanced her body in the sky, paying attention that she did not plummet. She didn’t think her knees could take another scraping like the one yesterday or the day before that. At least she stayed air borne for a little bit longer each day. Her mind was beginning to clear of it’s childhood delusions of monsters and the knights that came to slay them. Sure, she would always love her memories of getting to “fight” the badguys, but that wasn’t what real life was like. There weren’t any knights or dragons.
Okay.. there were a few soquilis that looked like dragons, but that didn’t count, right?

Nostrils flared as a dark colored stallion took in the scent of the warm summer day. The sun was an irritating thing but it was particularly annoying whenever the light glinted off his metal mask and into his eyes. Hiding in the covers of the trees helped but it was particularly boring to be on the ground this day. Grumbling at nothing in particular but, perhaps, his own annoyance, the war horse made his way towards a clearing where he’d be able to spread his wings freely into the open.
A nice warm breeze rolled by and caught upon the ghostly feathers of Knight’s semi-transparent wings. Stretching them out over the grass, the wings slowly took on a more opaque color, but not enough to be considered completely solid. However, this opaque color was enough to allow the stallion to suddenly take flight into the skies and hopefully into some cloud cover where he would gain some protection from sun and heat.
As a newcomer to both these lands and skies, he was unfamiliar with the sight of seeing other soquili like himself in the skies for wings were extremely uncommon back in his homelands. Noting his surroundings, Knight was pleasantly surprised to see the occasional wing soquili fly about but took no heed in trying to find any immediate chatter. He just wanted to enjoy the skies, clouds and wind for now.
