Fenuk was knee-deep in mud, he’d found this lovely little spot about… thirty seconds earlier and had decided it would feel good to get caked in the stuff. Too bad the hot July sun was raining down on him and already the stuff was beginning to get nasty and hard. His coat would probably give off clouds of dust until sometime next year. He wrinked his upper lip, only to feel it crackle. Great, He’d also gotten mud there. At least drinking would get that off? The thin colt with legs too long and a mane and tail of blue fire looked like quite a monster at the moment. Flecks of mud ran along the silk-fine coat and of course the knee-high boots made of ooey gooey mud.
Shaking his head, his mane popping in his own annoyance, Fen hoped to god that there was a stream or something shallow to go roll in. Of course, he’d look like an idiot when his hair went out and started to smoke until it was dry again. And then add in the guilt of possibly filling someone’s watering hole with a ton of muck… Maybe it’d be better if he just stayed grimey and grubby? It just felt so awful.
But seemed like a good idea at the time….

Pale eyes gazed upwards towards the bright sky as a young stallion made his way through a clearing. The summer heat was not very appealing to any living creature right now… it was during such heat that the stallion was thankful for his lighter coat that kept him just a bit cooler then most of the darker colored creatures. Still, a lighter color coat didn’t help all that much with the heat rising from the earth.
Making his way through the clearing, Sokinnin tossed his head about letting his curly mane give his neck what little soft breeze it would create. His short tail was even less help in this situation. With a long sigh the young stallion walked towards a rather muddy spot. He wasn’t in the mood for a mud bath, as comfortable as that really would have been but a dust bath didn’t sound too bad as a second choice.
Wandering off to the side, the semi-tall socked stallion found a good patch of dusty earth and promptly began to roll about in it as good as a horse could. Shaking any excess dust from his head another strange sight caught his eyes. Not too far off, a smaller form caked with mud stood before a watering hole as if longing to dive in but hesitating to do so. The peculiar thing was that the small creature’s neck and tail seemed to be light by a blue fire. Curious for various reasons, Sokinnin walked on over quietly towards the small form, to which became a foal upon closer inspection.
“Uhhhh… hey,” the stallion spoke when he was close enough to be heard. “What brings you here to this watering hole?”
