Okay, so this is off topic but on topic so I thought that I would be safe and just put it here.
Here's the big question, when did you fall in love with history?
For me it was in fourth grade when I started to read those Dear America books and I got hooked. By 6th grade I was more then willing to learn about the ancients and, after that, the Renaissance. So for me it started when I was kind of young. I think that liking history just runs in my viens because my grandfather likes history, and so does my uncle and father, and it's pretty cool sitting at Thanksgiving dinner and discussing Da Vinci.

Definitely when I started reading the (original!) American Girl books. I was particularly fascinated with Felicity, a girl living during the American Revolution, and Samantha, a "Victorian beauty". I have the Felicity boxed set, and I want the Samantha boxed set. Good luck to me finding it, though.

It was in the eighth grade when I first read Watsuki Nobuhiro's Rurouni Kenshin. I discovered that a good number of the characters in the manga were based on historical figures and I thought that was really neat. I was particularly interested in the Shinsengumi because one of my favorite characters, Seta Sōjirō, was based on Okita Sōji but the manga was told from the point of view of the Ishin Shishi which made the Shinsengumi that much more interesting for me. It wasn't long before I became obsessed with my research but it wasn't until I took German and AP World History in my junior year in high school that I would begin to branch out into the history of other nations besides Japan.
