I'm sure you all know by now how Damon loves Tibet.
Well, I recently found out that Damon and Jamie are using their Monkey characters in a sort of theme for the Olympics (only for the BBC I hear...), but wouldn't you think that Damon would refuse to do this with all the human rights violations China has against Tibet?
Thoughts? Comments?

Wasn't the Olympics supposed to be an event that supposed to bring countries all together throught competetive, friendly sportsmanship in the first place?
Anyway, the Olympics shouldn't be a time to bring up China's worst qualities. Let them have their time to shine and then we can start protesting again. Besides, we've done some pretty inhumane things( refering to the U.S., mind you) yet I've haven't personally seen other countries complaining.
As to Damon's actions, who knows? Maybe his will for human rights in Tibet isn't as strong as it used to be?I certainly hope not, but it's a possibility.

Actually, I've dug deeper and Damon even likes China's government! Unfortunately, I must agree with newspaper columnists and magazine articles when they say that Damon thinks he knows more than he really does. I understand loving the culture and I understand that China can't be treated in a hostile way, but liking the government is a different story, especially when they kill their own people.

Uhm, why would you all believe such garbage? Isn't that Damon Alburn's business? Whether or not he loves a government has nothing to do with what he's paid to do. If he's working on a project like that, then there's a possibillity that it's just to earn a bit of money; A business transaction at the very least. Even if it's more than that and it really is something he plans to do, then it's his decision and we shouldn't act hypocrytical over it. After all, what if Damon himself could be reading your posts? It would hurt anybody's feelings if you basicly called them uninformed of their surrounding. I know I'd feel a bit miffed.

I understand that it was probably more of a business thing than a personal thing, in retrospect.
Geez, I didn't say he was uninformed. We just thought he seemed to think he knows everything. I'm not doubting his intelligence....

And that is where I think he doesn't really know too much about Chinese government, particularly the Cultural Revolution. Hey, maybe he just likes the government today, and not 20 years ago. But even today, it's a bit ********>
