Welcome to Roses Among Leaves - A Quest for Otters. This is my quest thread for a hodge podge of characters I'd like to see as otters. I normally don't do quest threads, but what the heck right? In most cases, I don't see why anyone would want any of these (besides me) but in the off chance you do, go ahead and let me know. I'll be happy to let you pursue the one you are after, nine times out of ten. Oh and posting is allowed. Also, please note that anything in this color is a link (even without the underline). Description: Meg has straight strawberry blonde hair to her mid back (*on reviewing some footage, she had a black hair ribbon about 3/4ths down to tie her hair into a loose ponytail that must have fallen out--I think it might be a nice tie-in with the black sash though but again, up to you). She has bangs cut to the middle of her forehead that are brushed to the side (at least in the Final Lair portion). She has a healthy skin tone and blue eyes. She is wearing a gold cross necklace. Her white shirt looks too big on her. It has a deep V neck, with the edges barely hanging onto her shoulders but not deep enough to show much cleavage. There is a ruffle along the edge of the neckline and there seem to be two strings attached to the front. The sleeves are puffy until the wrist where it becomes tight with a slight ruffle over her hands. She has a thick black sash around her natural waist that is tied in a knot in back (possibly behind her right hip)- with two trails of fabric coming down, one falling just past her bottom and the other falling past her knee. She's wearing tight brown pants (*on closer inspection, there appears to be a black line down the outside on each leg but this can be omitted) and black boots to the base of her knee. *On closer inspection, I think she's actually wearing shoes- but I think boots fit the outfit better so creative license on the footwear.FundsCurrent/Needed: 0k/350k

Description: Callisto has slightly wavy light to dirty blonde hair. It rarely ever looks cared for (except when Xena's possessed her or she's been turned into an Angel). It's common for strands of her hair to be wrapped in pieces of cord. She has brown eyes and her skin is slightly fairer than Xena's (at least it looks like it most of the time). She wears a two-piece black leather outfit.
Her top is black, with quite a few silver studs riddle crossed it, most notably around the bottom edge and shoulder armor. The front is in a bit of an X shape, a deep V at the neck and smaller upside-down V at the bottom. The bottom edge probably repeats the upside-down V in the back though it's mostly hidden by her hair. There is a small cut over each breast- the top strap baring three silver studs. The chest is a textured armor that probably is stitched at the side. The back is most likely regular black leather. Her skirt sits on her hips and small of her back, with the front sloping into a soft V in front. It appears to be three thick horizontal strips of leather at least from the back to her thighs with another strip that has been cut vertical and given a soft U at the edge. The very front resembles a shingled roof of U's that each carry a silver stud at the bottom center. There are four silver studs on either side of the belt-like design at the center top, going down in a line that isn't quite vertical. The back resembles the front shingling except it starts under the third horizontal strap of leather and there is an obvious seam down the center of the back. The central back shingles have silver studs like the front but for the most part the shingles are studless.
She has two straps of leather to form a knee guard that seems to have mesh underneath. Again they are black with studs at the top and bottom edges as well as where the two pieces meet. She has simple black boots that are laced to mid calf, then the boot looks to have a rolled over top that is accented with two rows of silver studs. The back of the boot is cut in a V and ends below the knee. She has two different gauntlets- the right gauntlet ends in the middle of her upper arm and can best be seen in reference image 006 (the inside part against the back of her arm can be seen in reference image 004). The left gauntlet ends below her elbow and falls to her knuckles (with the inside falling at her wrist). It doesn't appear to have any mesh underneath it.
Her dagger is black and gold. The sheath being made of black leather and hug on her left hip. The sheath is decorated with two vertical columns of silver studs, six studs in each column. There is one silver stud on the hilt of her dagger in between the heel and hand guard. Description: (Normal Adult) Joxer has very short brown hair that tends to fall casually over his forehead (often brushed to the side). He has brown eyes and a slightly pale skin tone. His most normal outfit ever (if I remember correctly) consists of a poofy creamy light tan shirt, brown vest, brown pants, and brown boots. He has a purple sash (it seems to have some flecks of creamy light tan but it's rather hard to see) around his waist with a brown belt over top of it. He is wearing brown gauntlets under his white shirt but save for a sliver, you can't see them. His vest and pants appear to be made out of the same material. As per the series I'd gather the vest, belt, pants, and boots are all leather. He does have a scabbard attached to his belt but it's optional if you want to include it (being as it's on his left side and the lineart shows the right side).

Description: Xena has straight black hair that falls to her mid back. She has mostly straight bangs cut across her forehead ending at her eyebrows. Her eyes are blue and she has a sunkissed skin tone. She wears a one-piece brown leather outfit (usually). Her outfit is based more on the one she wore in the Xena arc from Hercules: The Legendary Journeys because I rather like that one more. (She'll still be the warlord turned do-gooder everyone loves.) I'm not sure I can describe it and I could only find two references.
Her outfit consists of a brown leather leotard like bodice. It's assumed that the straps are attached to the back and then slip over the exposed metalwork on the front. The skirt seems to be plain leather with a slit on either side with leather straps of brown and gold stitched together to form a second skirt that hides the first. The second skirt is most likely stitched to the waist of the bodice. She has a buckle or strap (hook?) of some sort on her right side to hold her chakram (although the lineart's left side is shown so- you might have to change sides or place it on the ground or somewhere to show it off). There are brown arm bands around her upper arms, embellished with gold. Her gauntlets are much the same as her arm bands, and are laced quite tightly together almost seamlessly against the back of her lower arms. You don't have to include her scabbard or sword, but if you want to- they mimic her brown and gold color scheme but are much less intricate.FundsCurrent/Needed: 0k/350k

Description: Sylvanas is an undead high elf so her skin is light blue. She has glowing red eyes and a darker blue vertical line that curves towards the end of her nose under each eye. She had light blonde hair in life that has darkened and almost seemed tinged with green but it may just be shadows. A dirty dark blonde would probably be best for the few strands that can be see under the hood. The hood is a rusted red color (a faint rusted gold pattern on the hood's edge, omit if easier) that falls to mid calf and looks to be quited tattered at the bottom. Spauldrons can be omitted to save sanity and wrist. She has black armbands (probably linen or silk cloth) located a bit above the elbow. She looks to have a leather rust red collar edged in diminished and rusted gold at the base of her neck with another black piece of cloth wrapped around the middle (same material as the armbands). She wears a mail top, rusted red with rusted gold accents and edging. Her quiver of arrows and bow can be omitted (that bow is like a monster) or simplified immensely. She appears to have brown leather gauntlets underneath her mail gloves. Simplified black or rust red gauntlets could be used instead. Her pants are black leather adorned with rust red mail. The mail could be omitted. Her boots are brown leather accented with gold at the edge and ribbed with gold to give them more sturdiness. They are over placed with mail boots, the end being about mid calf and the front place rising to the bottom of her knee. They're rust red with gold. If possible, I'd like for The Lady's Necklace to be included somehow. It's a simple silver chain with a silver edged blue gem. Description: Zelda is a young woman with light to medium brown, auburn, hair and blue eyes with fair skin. She has long hair being separated into three groups: the top layer is pulled back into an ornate golden clip with a bright blue gemstone at the top, the sides are pulled down in front of her ears and hang loosely until the chin where they are bound with cord until the tips, the bottom is left hanging until her shoulder blades where it passes through a dark blue ornament (ribbon?) and is then plaited/braided and bound with cord at the tip. A golden crown sits on the crest of her head, a blue gem in the center, that spans to her temples. She has thick gold (silver?) earrings with a yellow gem at the bottom and two slender red crystals hanging down (possibly another earring altogether). Her shoulders are covered by gold pauldrons embossed with symbols, one of which is similar to the Sheikah symbol (an eye with three triangles above it and a tear beneath it) minus the tear and embedded with a blue gem in the center of the "eye". The pauldrons are connected to one another by golden rods twisted into a symmetrical design. There is a red gem in the center and two blue gems on each side beside the pauldrons. She has long white gloves ending just above the pauldrons edge that are decorated with pale gold designs. She wears a dress of lilac and white. The top is rather plain, with faint white decorations around the hem. The skirt is pleated with the same pale gold design repeated on each pleat and a deep gold/bronze hemline. She has a gold chain fixed to each hip (it doesn't seem to surround her waist) that seems similar to a balance decorated with blue gems- two on each side, one on top in the center, and a slender rectangle or teardrop shaped one in the bottom slender attaching to her tabard. Description: Dark Mercury (oh me and my bright ideas) has a caramel (mocha? Asian?) skin tone. In senshi form, she has short blue hair (that is lighter than the blue on her fuku) with hints of possibly soft gray, teal, or tints of purple (I believe it was a white wig dyed, hence the hodge podge of color). A soft blue with tinges of gray and light teal might be best. Her hair is short with a slight curl at the edge. She has brown eyes and brown eyeshadow. The eyeshadow is more visible towards the edge where it is pulled from the corner outwards, giving the shape of a warped raindrop almost. She does have a lipgloss on her lips but that's up to you whether you want to include it.
Dark Mercury's tiara is silver with black tribal markings, with almost thorn like edges, and a blue gemstone in the center. The color is somewhat pale, a more subdued version of her fuku color. She has earrings that are somewhat heartshaped, or possibly almost bat shaped, with a teardrop shaped gemstone of blue falling from the middle and being met by the sides. The gestome would more than likely be the same color as her tiara gem. She has a blue choker, the same color as her fuku, with black tribal markings resembling her tiara. Hanging from the choker is a charm that resembles her earrings. Her collar is blue with black tribal markings (it looks mirrored), that is a straight line just above her shoulder blades. Underneath the collar is black tulle which is cut roughly, or perhaps bunched up so that the edging seen is uneven peaks. The front bow (which probably can't be seen on the lineart, yay?) is probably a bunch of petal shapes forming a bow-mostly purple in color with a blue gemstone in the center, with some blue dotted sections. She has a white sleeveless leotard with a white chest protector that is most visible on the back and side.
Dark Mercury has white gloves that end just below the elbow. The edge of her gloves have three blue rings. On her right wrist is her transformation bracelet. The wrist band is black leather with a dark blue facade, with a light blue/purple and a blue gemstone in the center. On top is a star (which faces towards her hand) and on the bottom of the lighter inset is a heart. The bracelet would appear upside down to onlookers. She has a chain around her waist, wrapped twice, with a charm in the center of the bottom section of the charm that matches her earrings and choker charm. A white roll of fabric in a V shape starts the top of her skirt, with blue pleated fabric that falls to mid-thigh. The back bow is purely black tulle, basically one rectangle of fabric with roughened edges that is then wrapped with another piece around the center to create a bow (though you might be able to see this very well either). She has blue boots with a moderate heel and pointed (though rounded) toe. There is a tip of white at the top in an upside down V shape and black tribal markings (again you might not be able to see these on the lineart). I imagine her fins would be the same as the blue on her fuku.
The wings, I'm not decided on. I have a few ideas in my head but not sure what would look best. The first idea would be wings resembling a bluejay's-most notably the primares which are black with blue edging on the outside. Another would be to do white with blue to black feathers or even black with blue to white (good to evil, evil to good depending). Another would be to take inspiration from the tulle fabric and her fuku in general. And the last would be to take in consideration that Mercury was turned by Kunzite, whose signature is black rose petals. (I'm so unhelpful!)FundsCurrent/Needed: 350k/350k

Old Updates02.14.11 I'm pondering a wolf based on Sherlock...
01.10.11 Removed Chakotay and Janeway (for now at least), put in some predators inspired by pets from World of Warcraft in their stead. At this point, I'm going to focus on waiting for slots for the four I have enough for and the Glee Quest/Plot. The others will be focused on eventually.
12.31.10 Officially decided that my NaOtRoPlMo item will be a were potion for Joxer to turn him into a Werebob in the future.
12.30.10 I decided that Joxer will be a Werebob Otter. I'll work on his bobcat references and description next week probably. I'll either have to quest for both forms, bribe, or get my hands on a Were Potion. He is a ways off so I won't worry about it at the moment. All updates before December 2010 have been moved to the archive.
12.03.10 I cut two references for Zelda and put up new ones. One is a very large image (1,536px × 2,048px) of the oft found image of Twilight Princess Zelda holding her sword. Click on at your own risk. The other is of Puppet Zelda but gives a great idea as to the length of her hair. Other than that not much. I put up a poll.
11.02.10 All is well on the quest front. I am still looking at adding or revamping Xena's references but in no rush since she's a ways off. Zelda is still my priority followed by Callisto. After that, things might change a bit but for now I think they're all a ways off.
09.09.10 Nothing to update with, still looking at revamping/adding more references for Xena's outfit whilst trying to battle the ideas in my head. Bah. I do not need more ideas, tell them to go away!
08.01.10 I added more references for Callisto and Joxer. I may or may not revamp or at least add more references for Xena's H:tLJ outfit later. I have to double check the screencaptures I found for it.
07.20.10 I added one reference for Zelda because it's bigger than the other reference image I had of the same picture. Therefore more helpful.
07.12.10 Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy arrived in the Oasis! A few posts in the thread have been moved up/switched but nothing has changed. I am leaning towards Sylvanas's pets being modeled after Loque'nahak (bobcat) and Skoll (wolf).
06.16.10 Lucienne and Erik arrived in the Oasis! Dark Mercury's description is up and I'm pondering moving Meg up on the priority list. I'm also considering whether Sylvanas needs some pets, a bobcat modeled after Cursed Offspring of Har'koa or Loque'nahak and/or a wolf modeled after Skoll.
03.26.10 I filled out the description for Ivy and one for Erik (that is hopefully up to the awesomeness of one Lemon love), I still need to fill out the description for Dark Mercury. I (shifty eyes) updated the priority list, as well. Oooh.
03.18.10 I (finally) uploaded the references for Dark Mercury. Now I just need to fill out Dark Mercury's description, fill out Poison Ivy's description, pester citrus fruits and warlock minions!
03.13.10 I am still trekking along (no, that wasn't a pun). I reordered my priority list and am still pestering certain citrus fruits for forms. I am also pondering bribing for a certain masked phantom and his ballerina (OC).
02.09.10 I added references for Chakotay and a description to Janeway and Chakotay (second easiest descriptions ever). In my demented state of otter addiction I might be considering Dark Mercury from Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon. Although I might also attempt to trim my list as well. I also finally decided on that Zelda should be an Angelic Elder.
01.07.10 New year, nothing new to update with. Still holding solid on the questing front and needing to pester certain citrus fruits for forms. Timezones are very, very cruel. Old updates have been moved to post fourteen.
11.12.09 Hello. My name is Ane and I have a problem. I am addicted to cosplay otter ideas. I'd ask for help but PRETTY OTTERS! Ahem-bare boned forms have been added for the replacements/new additions. Harley Quinn (for Su) and Poison Ivy, as well as Janeway and Chakotay.
10.25.09 A new reference for Sylvanas has been added. Still contemplating Elyssa and Kaipo's removal in order to add Janeway (and Chakotay?) and Poison Ivy (with Harley for Su).
10.21.09 I'm contemplating cutting Elyssa and Kaipo from my quest and Su is trying to ply my head with thoughts of others (mainly the two of us going for Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy). Janeway and/or Chakotay otter is entering my mind as well. **addicted to ideas**

08.25.09 I have enough saved up for Sylvanas and will be heading off on a week vacation soon. I'm going to take a break from saving up for Otters, I think I've got a nice head start on saving up as it is, and focus on getting some Gaia items and donating for a bit.

06.24.09 Billy has arrived! And he's looking mighty spiffy! Joxer has also been moved up a slot on the priority list and the contents have been shuffled around.
06.12.09 I finally managed to type out an acceptable description for Zelda. I also moved her up on the priority list. Still saving, slowly but surely.
05.17.09 - I managed to grab a custom slot for Jason and Billy. **dances and then collapses in relief**
05.03.09 - Still here, still saving, still waiting, la la la.
04.19.09 - The package numbers and prices have been fixed. As such I have to go back to saving up for Callisto and Sylvanas.
03.24.09 - I updated the funds post, other than that I'm still around and questing. Life just isn't nice right now so I've been keeping my head down.
02.19.09 - The funds are the same but I'm not sure how much is allotted to Callisto and Sylvanas as I believe my Excel file was lost when my computer was reformatted. So- those amounts may be off a bit depending on MP values.
02.01.09 - I fixed the references for Luci's outfit as the site doesn't seem to allow linking, so I put them on one of my photobucket accounts.
01.29.09 - I finished Luci's description and added a lot of references for her outfit. I'll have Erik's description and references, once Lemon finishes them.
01.27.09 - I added Sylvanas. The last addition to my quest list for a very long time.
01.26.09 - I am pondering adding Sylvanas Windrunner (Banshee Queen, Dark Lady, Queen of the Forsaken) from WoW. I haven't decided yet though.
