Otowa Waterfall

User Image

A small shrine built over a stone pathway and stairs, a waterfall splits into three small streams of water that people are allowed to drink out of. It is said that depending upon which stream you drink out of, you’ll be gifted with one of its three blessings. To it’s right is the blessing of good health, in the center; wisdom, and on the left; true love. Unfortunately, only one can be chosen though, drinking from more than one makes the blessing become useless.

[Tatsumi arrives, coming from the Arashi mountain hotel]

Kyoto was always a different place at night, it nearly became a ghost town at certain hours at the night like this, and he would only cross paths with a few common people here and there during his walk. He had been silent his whole journey, garbed in his usual trench coat with a blue turtleneck underneath, tucked in a pair of gray jeans by a belt, a headband, gloves, his headband; the usual. And of course, most of all, at his side he was carrying that case of his in his right hand, firmly gripped as he treaded through Kyoto.

The waterfall he seeked out was pretty far from the hotel, nearly a forty-five minute walk for him, and by the time he had gotten there, night truly had fallen as it got dark enough out, and he knew that he was arriving just at the precise time. Casually, he once again looked around; even though his senses told him he wasn't being followed; preferring to be cautious more than anything. He wasn't going to have any mistakes on this mission after all, and he would be damned if that mistake was his fault. Then again, in all his years, he could safely claim that he didn't. Make. Mistakes..

With a casual sigh, observing the waterfall for a moment, he made his way to the small seating alter behind it where people usually stood to take a drink from it. He knew the legend of this place... the way that one of the small waterfalls apparently 'blessed' someone with either wisdom, health, or love... a bunch of rubbish. That aside, it was a nice place to be at for a secluded relaxation in the evening, or in this case; to meet someone in secret.

As he got behind the waterfall, Tatsumi took a seat on the bench in the back, his case still in hand as he let out a silent sigh. He once again looked around; being sure no one was around, before he uttered a single word with his usual, blunt tone, though it did have the faintest hint of a German accent so he could say the word correctly. "Blücher."

"Finally..."

A male, standing afar from the waterfall, stood perfectly cloaked by the waterfall as he observed the other male nearby. He had been for a minute or so now, not long before he had arrived a young couple had made their way to the waterfall and left only minutes before the other had arrived. After hearing the word uttered, he sprung into action.

"Hipper-class heavy cruiser of the German Navy during WWII, twas sunk the 9th of April, 1940, Oslofjord, Norway."

He said, walking out from the shadows. It was apparent that he was heavily armed, a Glock 17, four grenades, two concussion and two fragmentation and hanging of a sling under his arm a P90 with silencer attachment. Not to mention the pouches on his belt likely filled with ammunition clips. But the most interesting feature was that strapped to his chest were maybe five square like objects, way to dark for them to be identified at the moment.

"Chigusa-san sent you, aye?"

Was... this some sort of joke? Tatsumi could already spot four critical mistakes on this guy that nearly made him groan like he had a migraine. One; never where you're equipment where it can so clearly visible. The big advantage is when your opponent doesn't know what you have. Two: be discrete and to the point. He wasn't here for a history lesson on something he already knew. And every second speaking about something so worthless was time wasted. Three: A grenade should never be visible on the outside. If CQC is ever engaged, those grenades become a target as they could have the pin pulled during a hand to hand combat engagement. And most importantly, number four: though Tatsumi may have just been imagining this; he may have consumed alcohol recently, because Tatsumi could have sworn his heightened sense of smell could detect it ever so vaguely from the man.

"Affirmative. Give me the details." Was all Tatsumi said bluntly and unamused, his eyes not even fixed on the man as he remained on the bench, his arms crossed on his chest and his case at his side as he waited for whatever this wannabe had to tell him.

"Well...you ever set up Claymores?"

He asked, slowly pulling one of the square like objects out from the pouches on his chest and then holding it up in the moonlight, identifying it clearly as the anti-personnel mine he had mentioned earlier.

"We're gonna lay these baby's around the entrance of the train station, if anyone chases then we will blow the ******** sky high."

It was clear that with age and change of occupation, this guy's skills had decreased, once special forces now a drunk who knew how to kick a vampires a**.

"These will get those among them who are vamp's, the silver ball bearings will tear them a new one."

There was a long silence from Tatsumi when the man actually mentioned that he was planning on setting up bombs around the train. Great... this mission was sounding more and more like he was going to be a terrorist rather than simply securing the line. Despite Tatsumi's slight disbelief in this, even his hope that the man was just kidding, his face still remained a taciturn, expressionless mask as he looked at the man, still not budging just yet as he spoke.

"So you are suggesting that despite the fact that multiple trains go through the station, even at this hour, and even with knowledge that these are students who are still kids, and that claymores in an urban terrain such as this is easy to spot, even at this hour 'less we actually unearth the concrete itself to put them beneath; you want to set up... claymore mines?" Putting it simply, listing all of the massive collateral damage that was at risk during this, Tatsumi was clearly rejecting the foolish plan in his own manner, explaining to this man how that was one of the dumbest things he ever heard. "Hell, with your idea, we might as well strap a primative civil war era cannon to the back of the train while you're at it." He said with obvious sarcasm, his eyes dimming in a cold glare the entire time.

"Well...point taken..."

Kenneth said placing the claymore back into the pouch, it was evident that Kenneth had lost touch with warfare slightly since chosing the carier of monster hunter, especially when it came to things such as claymores and other complicated explosives.

"Well...that plan down the drain...we will be acting as sentries. When Chigusa makes her escape, we will be in hidden locations taking pot shots at those following."

Kenneth said, bringing his P90 up and holding in both his hands.

"Though we have to keep up with her."

The message alert on Tatsumi's phone went of. When he would check the message, it would say.

"I have the target and there is a slight change in plans due to the stupidity of those who were meant to be watching over her, meet at train station, but be ready in case of minimal pursuit."

"That's fine. I have all of the tools necessary to-" Suddenly, Tatsumi came to a pause, his phone giving a silent vibrate, seeing as how he always kept the phone on silent, and with his free hand, he quickly pulled it out. Reading the message quickly, his tactical mind already began to come up with a plan as he turned away and finally stood up from the bench, clenching his case once more while he took two steps away from Kenneth. "I want lethal force used only if the engagement requires it. I still consider them my students regardless." He said bluntly, despite the fact that he was actually caring about the kids even if at this point they were his enemy. "If you don't possess any non-lethal rounds, just disable them."

Even as he spoke, Tatsumi considered all of the options. Kenneth''s choice of equipment for this engagement, Tatsumi's 'tool's he can use for this mission, how to minimize collateral damage, how to do this without being seen, having a back-up plan if something else goes wrong; everything.

"Follow me to the train station. The next train arriving is in twenty minutes, and that's the one Chigusa-san should be using. I hope you're still able to run, old man." Tatsumi didn't dub him as old from his age, quite frankly it was impossible to tell how old he was with that suit. But the man's tactics and his behavior seemed so primitive that he couldn't help but dub him with such a nickname. That aside though, Tatsumi motioned for him to follow before he picked up his pace, not running at his full speed, but keeping a steady and surprisingly quick pace as he dashed to the station. Time was of the essence, if they got there early enough, they could set the necessary traps for a flawless escape.

"Yeah whatever..."

Kenneth said rather disapointed never the less as he pulled the ammunition cartridge from his P90 and slotted another clip of unknown origins in, likely magic breaker rounds that were dumbed down to be 'non-lethal', he used them for when there was a certain beasty that he wanted to capture for interogation and thus he would hit them with these. Once knocked out he would drag them away, get the infomation from them that he needed and then put a bullet in their head.

"Old man? You do realise you are speaking to a former Utti Jaeger?"

He laughed to himself as he followed with post haste.

x Luxa

PostPosted: Sat Sep 06, 2008 11:09 am

[[Enters from nara Park.]]

Luxa approached the waterfall and gazed at the three streams running off of it. 'I belive it said in the brochure that the waterfall will grant a blessing, depending on which stream you drink out of.' She walked over to the altar where it is said the people drinkthe water from. She still gazed at the streams, trying to remember which was which. 'The right...If I recall, is good health...the center is wisdom...and the left is true love.' She paused for a moment, considering which one to drink. 'My health is almost perfect, I hardly ever get sick. And I do belive, with my experience with the students in America, that I am a little more wise that an average teenager.' Her eyes now landed on the stream to the left. The blessing of true love. 'Eh...I can't really say that I've been in love...Or that I've ever liked someone so much to even consider it. So...why not? It probably wont work anyway.' She turned around and looked at the few people who were there. Knowing that they weren't anybody she knows and will probably never see hem again, she leaned out toward the stream to the left. She didn't have any bottles or a glass with her at the moment, so she reached out and cupped her hands together. She filled her hands with the cold water and took a sip of it. 'Wow...it's really refreashing, not like city water.' She took another sip of the water and finished it. She sighed, feeling bored again. She left the waterfall and headed toward the hotel.

{Sosuke enters from Nara Park with Satomi.}

Climbing up the stairs leading to the shrine, Sosuke looked around. It was night now, and no one was here, except for Sosuke and Satomi, with a few people lingering around. The shrine was lighted with a few paper lanterns, giving it a traditional and nature-esque feel to it. The trees behind the shrine ruffled slightly in the cool breeze, and the trickling of water from the small streams of water pouring from the top of the shrine, was the only sound, with a few whispers and murmurs from other visitors.

Leading Satomi over to a small bench, Sosuke was used to this quietness in Kyoto; he thought the hushed voices only helped to reveal the true beauty behind all of the nature and past of Kyoto. On the walk to the waterfall, Sosuke had been quiet for most of the time, as the discussion before had produced a more awkward time for both of them. "Would you like to drink?" Sosuke asked, breaking the silence between them. As he said it, he offered Satomi a small, wooden ladle, that was the usual object to fill it with the water from the waterfall.

Again, Satomi was mostly silent for the walk. She had kept to herself, still holding Sosuke's hand but never doing anything else and having her head tilted downwards just a little, a bit solemn as they approached the falls. She seemed like she was deeply in thought, as if there was something upon her mind that she just couldn't shrug off, but in the end, she just did her best to keep herself from thinking about these negative emotions that plagued her mind, and she stayed by Sosuke's side. He was trying to make her happy, and even though she felt she didn't deserve his kindness and charity, she still never walked away, or even let go. She knew how much it would hurt Sosuke's feelings, and so she would ignore her own so she could make him happy.

"Y-Yes, I'll give it a try." Even how she was speaking seemed more nervous than usual. Normally it seemed like nothing fazed her and she kept her head high and confident, but now she seemed so timid and fragile, like she was filled with self doubt. Still, she let go of Sosuke's hand and took the ladle before choosing between the three streams of water that continued to fall in a pond below. One for good health, another for wisdom, and a final one for true love; it was obvious which of the three she would choose, the girl craved knowledge, so it was obvious she would go for the center one.

But at the last second, she went to the left stream, and gently took a sip from the one that was said to bless you with true love...
PostPosted: Sat Sep 20, 2008 4:20 pm

Sosuke was surprised at Satomi's choice of the waterfall she chose to drink from. Twice, he double checked which one she drank from, by looking at the sign nearby indicating which stream she had chosen to drink from. Still, Sosuke chose not to question his friend, as it was her business. What puzzled Sosuke was why she drank from 'true love'. Didn't she already have that, with her boyfriend? Or was that not enough?

Picking up a ladle himself, Sosuke got up from the bench, and joined Satomi at the stream, holding it out so that the stream filled his ladle, before bringing it to his lips and taking a sip, putting it down for a moment to look at Satomi. It wasn't an ethereal beauty, but it was a beauty that brought the idea of beauty and grace back to Earth. Satomi didn't seem 100% okay, but 100%, Sosuke realized, was not capable for tonight.

Finishing the rest of the water in little sips, Sosuke set the ladle down on the little flat stone on the edge of the shrine, looking into the pool of water. Leaning down on the edge with his arms, Sosuke looked around him. Very few people were here now. "How are you feeling?" Sosuke asked quietly. To talk in a normal voice seemed like it would disturb the peace they had until that point.

There was a soft laugh from Satomi, and she regained that pained smile of hers at Sosuke's question. It wasn't exactly what he asked that brought the amusement to her, but the fact that he was so deeply concerned about her even though there was nothing he could do to help. It was like wanting to know the inevitable, despite not having any way to prepare for it.

"Confused, exhausted, hopeless, a little dead inside, you know, the good stuff." It wasn't what she said though that was so disturbing, but how she said it so casually, like it was simple fact. She then leaned herself on the railing as she said this, not providing any eye contact with Sosuke as her gaze instead focused on the horizon; like she was looking off to the stars, trying to find something hidden in the sky.

"How about you?"
