Well I was watching a Christian show and I heard a line I was very impressed by. If god controls everything then we can't just send these prisoners who killed children to jail.....cause god controlled it....
I'm not sure if that was the exact line but it was something along those lines. Maybe you saw the show to and do now the line.
Well anyway what do you think about that line. Good line or Bad line?
EDITThey were not trying to say God wants you to do bad or anything like that. They were just saying he gave us free will and he dosnt control everything.

Well I honestly think those people need to be punished. God may have willed those kids to die but I don't think he wants those peole to run around and kill more. So I don't think it's that great of a line.

wafl_boy9000 Well I honestly think those people need to be punished. God may have willed those kids to die but I don't think he wants those peole to run around and kill more. So I don't think it's that great of a line. There was more to it than that. They went on to say that he wants us to do good, but he gave us free will. Or something like that. They were not trying to say God wants us to do bad they were just saying he dosnt control everything.

This is definitely a strange thing to say. Let's temporarily say that God did control the murderers. Those murderers should still go to prison. Actions have consequences. Let's put it this way: God controls what or who lets Him control. If God was in control, everything would be perfect (see Genesis ch. 1). However, God gave man free will, thus the fall of humanity (Genesis ch. 3). I question the person who said this, especially since it was a Christian show.

Jesus... Bad line, end of story. That just leaves the doors for Atheists and other Christian-bashers out there to... well, bash us! ...My Lord, Savior, and Friend

So get out of bed, step off your rooftop... In my quite limited knowledge, I believe that God gave us the free will to do with what we want. Its not that he dosent have the capacity to control everything, for he definitely does, but that he chooses to not use it sometimes. Of course thats just my thoughts.. and theyre definitely open to change, if theres biblical basis for it. So um.. bad line? I dunno.
and just look around, hear the sound of God.

So in the end this is a question of free will?
God, knows everything that will happen, right, that's because he is limitless, he is outside of time. But he is sovereign, and if he truly is in control then he did have the ultimate say in the matter. Yes, God had control over those men, so there was a reason they did what they did, we, as humans may not be able to see it, but there is a reason.
God, being sovereign and outside of time, he has control over everything and there is nothing man can do to stop that. It may come down to the point that Time is like a line on a paper, and God is the paper the line was drawn on. While the line can only see the line at its parts, God being the paper is in contact with the entire line. Or we could even say that the line was drawn on the paper, by the paper, so the paper chooses where the line goes.
