Naida: *pokes her head out of her vase* ..... *blinks and reaches over to poke Okeanos on the nose*
Okeanos: *is poked in the nose* Wha'as tha for?! *sees who poked him and backtracks* Uh... sor'y. *blushes* But, rea'y, what was tha for?
Naida giggled at that, she liked the way he talked. It sounded interesting, even though she had to think about what he said before answering back.
"Because your nose is cute," she told him as if that was a normal response.
He should count himself lucky that she didn't go the way of her mother and kiss him on the nose.
Okeanos blinked. His nose was... cute? Was that normal? He thought about it for a moment, until his brain started to hurt.
"Uh well... tha'k ya, lass. Yur apredy cute lass yurseft," he said, attempting to hide in his vase. Which wasn't working, so he just hid behind his hair. Which didn't work, either.
Naida giggled at him, his actions only made him cuter. One shouldn't ask though what considered cute in her mind, it would make anyone's head hurt. She grabbed the edge of her vase and lifted herself up, leaning forward so she was half leaning over his vase as well.
"Can I come in?" she asked Okeanos, "I won't be trouble."
Okeanos looked around before nodding. "Su'e. The'e enough room, methinks. I'ma... Okeanos. Who're yo, if ya don't mind mey askin'?" he asked, realizing he had no idea who this mermaid was, and she had no idea who he was. He moved toward the farside of his vase, giving her as much room as she needed.
She flipped herself into his vase, landing with a splash, she rose to the surface. Her hair floating everywhere in white tendrils. It was a bit cozy, but they could deal at least until someone realized she was missing and picked her up.
"I'm Naida," she replied, "My Mommy named me that."
"Naida, huh? It be a nice name, lass. I uh... li'e yur hair. It's'a perdy colour," he said, noticing the long tendrils of white hair floating about in his vase. "I'ma thinkin' me mum named mey, but I ain't too su'e a'out it." Okeanos thought about it, until his brain hurt again. He was sure she had. He turned his attention back to Naida and noticed something.
"Yo don't'av scales about yur eyes, like mey."
Naida patted her face for a moment, not understanding until she noticed that Okeanos' own eyes had scales around them. Sort of like... what was that creature? A raccoon... she believed it was called.
"Nope, but you don't have a jewel on your head neither," she pointed out to him, "But I like your scales, they're shiny."
So says the girl who is attracted to shiny things.
Okeanos nodded. "That be true," he said, smiling at her. She was very nice. He poked his forehead to find he didn't have a jewel. Whether this was disappointing or not to the small merman, was left to debate. He dove underwater to get his hair wet.
Naida stuck her head under water to see waht he was doing, she didn't always need to be wet, but then again with hair as long as hers it took a while for it to dry out.

Okeanos watched Naida stick her head under the water and smiled broadly at her. He popped back up and tackled her, his hair sending water flying everywhere.

"Eep!" Naida tumbled deeper into the water.
At least as deep was a vase would allow, even though boys' vases were deeper she still brushed against the bottom. Turning over she giggled which came up as bubbles as she reached out to tickle Okeanos.

Okeanos had never been tickled before. It startled him... and made him laugh so hard his tail shook. He couldn't stop laughing, it was just so.... tickley! There was a halo of bubbles around his at after a few minutes. He rolled over and went to follow suit of course. What ever she was doing to him was not making her laugh the same way and he wanted her too.
So he reached out to tickle her back.

She giggled her body twitching as she tried to get away. One would imagine at this point the surface of the water looked like a boiling pot with all the bubbles reaching to the surface. Naida backed down onto the bottom of the vase, the cool material against her back.
She tried the side of his neck, under his arms and his ribs.

Okeanos laughed and faught against the tickling. There wasn't much room to move in his vase, though it was deeper than Naida's, but he spun about, and dove to tickle Naida's stomach.

Deciding she was going to get cornered at the bottom of the vase, she wiggled out of his tickling range and made her way up to the surface. She broke the water, looking like she was taking a deep breath, even though technically mermaids didn't really need to breath.
At least that's the belief since they didn't seem to have gills.

Okeanos followed her and smiled, panting. He leaned up against the side of the vase and let his arms dangle over. "Tha' was fun, Naida. 'Ho new tha could bey so fun?" said Okeanos, looking over at her. It was fun, though some of the water in his vase had spilled over. It was pooling around the base of the two vases.
Okeanos frowned at his reflection in the water below him. That was odd... Why was there another one of him?

Naida looked over the vase edge curiously hoping that they didn't spill too much water out. Or if they had that someone would come along and refill it. It wouldn't be nice to be without water, well she had be and it wasn't that bad, but she wasn't sure about Okeanos though. Looking back at her new friend she noticed his frown.
"What are you frowning at?" she looked into the water there didn't seem to be anything in there.

"The'e anoder mey down the'e. En da water. He mimics mey," he said without looking up. It was just so odd. Why would there be another one of him... Unless his ma hadn't told him about another him. This was so odd.

"Where?" Naida looked down.
Of course being older she understood the idea of a reflection compared to a real person. So she had unconciously ignored the reflection in the water, looking for an actual person.
"I can't see another you."

Okeanos blinked. "Ye the'e es... en da wa'er. En da wa'er down the'e," he said, pointing with his little hand. How could she stay so calm about all this? There was another one of him! This was not possible! Something must be wrong! Why was she so calm?

It took Naida a while to realize the other one of him he was referring to was his reflection. Once she realized this though, she began to giggle. Touching the surface of the water lightly it began to ripple.
"Silly... that's your reflection."

Okeanos raised an eyebrow in confusion. "Reflection? Wha es that?" he asked, cocking his head to one side. Reflection? He'd never heard of such a thing before. Though, when Naida made the water move, he did see that the other him looked odd and moved too, and not the way he was.

"It's a picture that is shown back at you," Naida tried to explain, "When you look into something that reflects, it shows a picture of what it sees if you were looking from there back at you. So when you look into the water it shows a picture of you right back, that person down there is you, but it's a reflection of you, so it's not really there. It's just the water does that."
Lifting her hand back up, the image slowly stopped rippling and stilled again since the mers weren't moving a lot.
