Well that didn't take long. After Square Enix quietly launched a teaser website seemingly devoted to bringing fan fave Chrono Trigger to the Nintendo DS, we've managed to scrape our jaws off the floor just in time to see that the company has confirmed plans for the title, and that the game will ship in time for North American gamers to pull it out of their stockings this holiday season.
With the original having shipped some 2.5 million copies the world over, Squeenix calls the portable take on the 1995 SNES role-playing classic "newly revamped," promising a new dungeon and wireless play of some sort. Touch screen support is also promised, something we're getting plenty of practice at as we paw at our computer screens in eager anticipation.

Actually during the time of the KH production they were still under the name "Square-soft". The thing is the amount of money they got from one game that ruined anything Square had was FF VII.
The one game that made lose any respect for the company. When Chrono Cross came out it wasn't as good nor as great as the first, plus the fact they shipped with the other Final Fantansy games made me realize what direction they were going to take.
They never went back their old franchises and thank god too. The only FF game I give credit for trying something new was XI and XII and Tactics. Otherwise the entire FF franchise has been kind of a joke since they are still backing one game only!
However, Chrono Trigger should be good. If anything the only thing they should is update the graphics to a 32-bit style and make the game bigger.
Don't try it to make it 3-D, or do any bullshit with the Wi-Fi. I hated that in FF III.
It's a good thing also Square didn't anything with Super Mario RPG. Paper Mario was so much better

It's really sad when a game doesn't enough love for any system in number of years.
Square basically shoved it's other series for FF. Enix kept going on the Dragon Warrior/Quest games.
It's one of the things I hate about Square they are so iffy to even released good "original" games.
If anything Chrono Trigger was on the best of the best of the RPGs. However many haven't played it and the problem when you make a game on the DS. You either get sales or you don't get any sales at all.
Chrono Trigger maybe a cult game but any gamer will take it over if a game has the title "Final Fantansy".

The problem is Final Fantansy IV.
It's more popular than Chrono Triggger any Final Fantansy game is more popular than any game of the mid-90s that never got a true sequel.
The thing here is any game released so damn late sometimes doesn't draw enough number of sales.
It's so hard to take a game that has been treasured for so long and expect that great success again.
I was kind of ranting..but otherwise it is true. =/
