I'm curious to know everyone's opinions.
Me, personally... I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. >____<;;
I'm mostly sad that the theme songs are different. But, the voices seem ok. They could have been a lot worse.
But, why did Sasuke have to be the one to get the half decent voice? ;-; Must, resist, urge, to ... like. D:
Oh, yeah. And what is with the gen-eeen. And jo-neeeen. It's not a neeeeeeeeeeen-ja. >_____<

Technically Jounin is pronounced like that, although they didn't have to put the emphasis on the "i." I found that they put the wrong emPHAsis on the wrong syLAble in most of the charecter's names too.
Gahh!! Kakashi's vooooice! gonk
Did you catch that when Naruto was talking to Konohamaru he said "Katra" instead of "Chakra?!" I had a heartattack! x.x I thought they were really gonna call it Katra!
All in all, it wasn't that bad of a dub. Even if they did take the blood out of the nose bleeds, and off the giant shuriken that was in Iruka's back... and if they screwed up half the voices... Oh well. >< What can you do?

I think my ears bled when that robot from battlecruiser said 'On the next, Nay-ruu-to'.
I also hear lot of editing such as nosebleed as well as narusasu yaoi kiss *you can hear narusasu fangirls scream bloody murder from distance*. Then there's my friend telling me Shikamaru's voice sound too deep and retarded which is unacceptable for me. so it all depends on person-to-person.

well i really dont care Naruto is Naruto but i like sakura Ino Hinata and SHIKAMARU's voice there ok but the japan is so better biggrin

Well I just finished watching the dubs. I still say Naruto's voice is too childish.. Ino's, I thought, I was off at first but now that I think about it, it's okay. The other dub's are alright too. They're going to sound a little childish in the beginning so that later on, when their voices mature, it'll be more clear on how the character as a whole has matured as well.
..more of an.. effect...
but anyways.. the only voiceover I hated was naruto's.. but if they mess up anybody from the akatsuki.. they're as good as dead. mad

Seemed really horrible to me. Naruto's voice was a bit too childish/whiny for him, Shikamaru's voice sounded a bit...idiotic to me, Sasuke's voice was too bright (for him), and every time they said one of the names, jutsu, or sensei, I twitched and wanted to throw something at the tv. I just can't watch it...

i have yet to see the dubbed eps. i have no tv. but my friend was furious about the whole thing. he thought it was awful, and so he sent me the opening and ending credits. i just about s**t my pants at how horrible they were! you guys may be miffed about the eps, but i'm pissed about the opening! each opening throughout the series related to what was going on in the series. rocks was all about the team, then haruka kanata was about the different teams etc etc etc. but they mashed them all togehter... *shudders*
and the ending! what was wrong with wind!? IT WAS IN ENGLISH!! and the video editing was wretched. they used stills that weren't really still, and you could see the action lines. i've tried my hand at video editing before, on several occasions, and even I coulda done a better job.
my friend also sent me a sound file of some random part of an ep. i think it was with ebisu, the tutor.... if it mentioned "ninja" or "elite" just once more... i woulda whipped my speakers across the room.

Okay. I have a reaaaally great solution...
For those of you who aren't Japanese.. and aren't pretending to be Japanese.. go and watch the Dubbed version.. becasue reading subtitles the entire time.. sucks.. it really .. is horrible.. you miss everything. because you're reading
Those of you who understand Japanese.. watch the Japanese version.. it is as simple as that..
Do you realize that the creator of Naruto had a hand in picking the voice actors, most likely? They got the voices as close as they could. Some of the voice-overs are going to sound awful at first. That can be for several reasons. One could be that all you've ever known is the subbed version. For hard-core fans of the anime, it's hard for them to transfer over to the dubbed version because they're so obsessed with the anime, they don't have time do anything but come on gaia and complain about how horrible the dubs are.
If you don't like the dubs, dont't watch them. Nobody made you watch them. You watched them yourselves. But just because you don't like them, doesn't mean you have room to complain. If you don't like a characters voice over, state your opinion. Don't complain. And yes there is a difference between those two.
After seeing some more episodes, I've come to the realization that the dubs aren't that bad after all. Do you know how much work goes into making an anime? I want one of you who just keeps complaining to go and try and find adequete voice overs for the anime yourslef. Ones taht sound exactly, sound for sound, expression for expression like the Japanese voice-over.. only.. in english.. Because you know what? That's what they had to do. and if this is the best they could find, I'm sure you wouldn't be able to find half as good.
So stop complaining. Just be happy that they kept the names. Be overly excited that they kept the script almost exactly like the Japanese anime..
Who cares if they cut out the nosebleed? Hello.. it's on a kids network.. Get. Over. It. If it goes on a kids network, they have to make it suitable for children. And let's face it, kids.. blood gushing out everywhere every two seconds isn't exactly like looney tunes or spongebob.
If it's created for a kids network, thats the way the rating has to go. It could've gone on adult swim, but that wasn't the age group they were looking to attract. They were looking to attract younger kids.
Honestly. Stop complaing, take a look at all of the obvious reasons the anime is the way it is dubbed, and be happy that a good anime actually came in with good dubs.
Its like this.. A parent walks in.. and sees.. yaoi!! oh joy!!!
"Oh wow!! My kid is watching two guys kiss!! This is just wonderful television for my child to be watching!!!! I want them to grow up gay!! Yes! I do! and look at that! Thats a nose bleed! omg thats so awesome because I just would love for my kid to have nightmares and have obsessions with blood!!"
Would you let your kid say about.. ten years old.. watch Naruto, the Japanese version? I think not. Parents can't completely control what their kids watch. And let's all realize that the shows they show on CN are getting pretty old and boring. They needed something new, new fans to the series wanted dubbed, and they got it.
If you aren't happy with it, then too bad. These are the best dubs your going to get. So be happy. It's not going to be exactly like the Japanese version. I dont' know when you all will realize that. It will never ever ever ever ever EVER be like that. Simply because it wouldn't sound right..
Let's bring to the attention of everyone..
that a child of ten.. or twelve..
who does NOT SPEAK JAPANESE..
would NOT know what KAGEBUSHIN NO JUTSU!!! means..
that is why they had to translate.
Don't like it? Tough. You're old enough. Watch the Japanese version.
the dubbed is for CHILDREN!!! .. So just stop.. because the way you guys are acting, is like children. You'll never be happy with dubs simply because they aren't exactly like the Japanese subs. Get over yourself. Stop being stuck up. And retreat to your corner with your snobby ways. Instead of sitting here, complaining about how bad they are, congratulate the people who took so much time to work on that anime. To find the best voice actors and tell them how to pronounce everything correctly. Think about how much time and work that must have taken to get the voices matched up with the imagery.
If you think you can do better, then go ahead! I'd like to see you try. Go ahead and attempt to re-dub the anime. If you can't, then shut-up. Stop being annoying.

All right, 'Teh Kawaii Vampire', you've had your say. Are you quite happy? Since you're able to come in here and tell everyone they're just complaining fools, mayhap we are not wrong in being able to tell you that you're just being rude. Why shouldn't we complain about something we all agree on? We're having FUN. On and ONLINE FORUM. In a GUILD.
Also, I'd like to point out that the OWNER OF THE GUILD HERSELF has complained here.
So, before you go off on your rants about the sheer idiocy of the rest of us, re-look at the situation and consider maybe, just MAYBE, you're over reacting.

as I stated before, it depends person-to-person preference. Im not completely against dubs. I like Samurai Champloo and Cowboy Bebop dub *they're done rather well*. Naruto is a bit tricky because they didnt go out and put 21yr old sounding VA like they did with FMA. So thats good. They actually tried to make Naruto sound like kid. But I repeats, it differs for each person what they think of Naruto dub.
