Early one evening, Iartuupe crawled out from his den and stretched... yawning slightly as a light breeze played through his mane. He could scent a storm coming on that breeze, and smirked. He had been doing some thinking ... and it was high time that the young ones began their training. His own cubs... and Verge's as well.
Padding out toward where most of the little ones slept, he raised his voice and called out, "Any among you who wish to learn of the ways of demons.... follow me." Then, without waiting to see how many might rise and come, he turned and started to pad away.(( OOC: I'm planning to run this almost like a sort of "class"... waiting a few days between Iar's posts for cub-owners to pop in and post reactions and questions. There's no real post order or anything so hop in anytime >D Any who jump in at a later point, it can be assumed they were "there" the whole time and just now spoke up, or whatever ))

Black ears perked up and red eyes opened in glee as her father's voice reached her sleepy mind. And the cub known as Moricorm was no longer asleep. The dark little one made sure not to wake her mother (the small lioness seemed to sleep like a log) and padded out to follow her father. Finally! She would learn what it meant to be a member of the pride!
Her poor mother seemed to know nothing when asked, and would just groom her and teach her little things...like how to pinpoint the smaller prey that ran through the grasses. If nothing else, Maluuni'jambo was very good at hunting.
But that was not now. Now, she would soak up everything her father had to offer.

Nyota'angavu spent a moment stretching before he rose and padded after Iartuupe, golden eyes glowing darkly in the sparse light of the moon. He thought he already knew much about the ways of the demons; his mother had taught him much already. He was the strongest of his siblings, at least in his own mind. None of the others had scars yet; none of the others had claimed their own prey, to hunt and kill when it so pleased him...
But he would absorb his Aran'shale's teachings. Knowledge was power, after all. It would do him good to have as much knowledge as possible, to know his pride inside and out... After all, if he was going to become an Aran'shale eventually, he had to know everything about the Aikanaro'hini.

En'dagora slept lightly even as a child. The slightest bumping, the smallest scrape of claws over the surface of the den were enough to have her stirring. So when the voice of her father, their Aran'shale echoed through the den, it was her emerald eyes that stared up from her mother's side. It was early, she noted, but she did not gripe. Instead, she rolled away from Maluuni's side and rose to her feet and silently began to stalk after the procession.
Of course, there was an extra pep in her step to get her past the other cubs. She would nudge or push anyone aside that she needed to to be in the front, just a few steps behind Iartuupe.

Anameleth awoke to her father's voice, and glanced beside her to see what Moricorm would do, only to find her younger sister already gone. She yawned, stretched, blinking in the evening light. The last of the sunset glowed a dark red upon the clouds in the horizon, and the low rumble of thunder reached her ears. She could smell the rain in the air, and it invigorated her. Dodging the outstretched paws of sleeping lionesses and cubs, Anameleth raced to reach her father and fellow cubs.

Soon enough, Iar glanced back to see how many had come... and was glad to see that a good number of the cubs were padding after him. Good. He was eager to teach these little ones the ways of demons, and how things worked around here.
To that end, he kept on going for a few minutes before making the first stop.
At this point, they were far enough away from the base of the volcano and the dens of the royalty to look up and see the mountain, dark against the starry sky.
"Look up, little ones," he rumbled, voice low. "Do any of you know what this mountain is?"

Ri sat down, near her father, and looked up...up at the place that her voices whispered about. From here, it was even more magnificent. She grinned, letting her words come from the more fiery voice within.
"It is a holy place, full of sleeping fire. The closer I get, the clearer the voices inside become..." The little cub had no qualms sharing about the voices...after all, they guided her to do things that would be good for the pride! They had not steered her wrong yet.

Nyota glanced at Ri for a moment, his muzzle splitting in a small smirk.
"It is the entrance to the underworld... Isn't it?" he purred. He felt it. He was his own demon, after all. There was no inner demon... Just him.

Meleth did not share her siblings feelings about the place they were near. She was definatly starting to show traits that she would be her mother's daughter. "I don't feel so sure about this place Dad.... It gives me the creeps..."

Iar glanced at each cub in turn, smiling at the first two answers, but then frowning a bit at Meleth. Though perhaps a bit of fear could be healthy, he didn't want his children afraid of their very nature.
"You are both correct!" he praised the first two. "This mountain is a holy place to all demons, and is also one of many entrances to the underworld from this, the world above. There are other entrances, but they are scattered far and wide across the land."
A little pause. "If ever you happen to be exploring and find another entrance, you will know it, because it will have the same feel."
Hm... now, what to discuss next? Ah... that would do.
"Ri, you spoke of voices inside. Do all of you know what these voices are?"

Other entrances...Ri would have to keep an eye out for such things...Her tail wrapped about her feet, the tip twitching a bit to satisfy her cubbish need to move something as she sat still.
And sadly, she did not know what the voices were, other than her dearest guides and friends. She would let another answer. But she knew that the voices had something to do with their nature...

Meleth sat down, with her head hanging down slightly. She knew that her father was disappointed with her actions and how she felt about the voices.

Iar frowned slightly. No one had an answer...? Or at least, none among the ones here did. That was a bit disappointing. But they were here to learn, and they were young...
"I cannot believe none of you have even suspected! These voices are the demons inside of you all!"
