Trudge trudge crunch. Pause. Screee-scree.
The young male had settled himself into a swing at the playground in the park, legs curling under him slightly, mismatched gaze wandering over towards the newer playground they had about 100 yards away, persay. He was clad in his usual colors- black and white,- a bagging black shirt that went to his knees over a fitting, longsleeved black and white striped shirt. He had his anhk collar back on, as well as his new black combat boots and one of his many earflap hats. This one was black and white.
The halfbreed had come after school had ended- the park was right near his house. He usually came here just to be alone. Well, alone somewhere other than his room. He found himself alone a lot as of late... He pulled his messenger bag into his lap and began to swing idly. The old playground was never used anymore, everyone wanted the new one. He didn't care. He liked this one better. It creek-scree'd as he went back and forth, and there was a bunch of trees around it.. It was sorta secluded and shady. Much better than his room.

Jiyuu sat up on the top of a slide, a small mouse running around him squeeking this and that at him for wandering off on his own. Jiyuu seemed not to be even looking at his pet as he held onto the side of the slide. His pale blue eyes seemed losted in the world. His world of shadows...
Shaking his head slowly, his gray and black stripped ears raised up as he heard the squeek of a chain. Someone else was there?...well...maybe it was just the wind. Taking a deep breathe, he wrapped his tail around his waist and dark clothes before sliding down the slide. He fell of the end of the slide and stayed there. His neck bell was ringing softly as it hit against his body. "See...not bad." He whispered to the mouse who had seemed to have frozen against his ear.

The boy jolted slightly as he heard something, having not noticed the other right away, eyebrows arched. Someone else was there..? The halfbreed simply watched as the neko went down the slide, fingers tightening over his messenger bag uncertainly... He wasn't too good with people- well, mostly just people he didn't know. He took in a deep breath before figuring that he hadn't been seen.. Hm...
He just watched quietly for now before deciding he and the other boy would get along fine. They both had pet mice. Well, no mouse was like Alexei, atleast not to him, but it was close enough. He perked up a bit, hesitating before speaking out, "Um.. Hello..?"

Jiyuu smiled up at the mouse on his head as it slowly started to release his ear. Reaching up, he pulled the mouse off his head and placed him on his shoulder. "You are..." He stopped hearing someone else near him and then a voice. So that was someone else...not the wind.
"Um...Hi?" Jiyuu blinked feeling a sudden change in the temp around him. The person was closer to him that at first. Yet, Squeeky wasn't shaking so he couldn't be that bad. "How are you?" Jiyuu spoke softly looking straight ahead at the lands around him.

It was true, he had never... Encountered a kid who was blind, and as the boy watched the other stare into the void he felt himself grow uncertain.. Spiro had seen someone who was blind before, but unlike the older people he was currently living with, he had no clue how to tell who was blind and who wasn't. He was worried about guessing now..
His eyes darted to the ground as he began to swing idly back and forth, not wanting to be caught staring if the neko boy really could see. "I'm okay..." He hesitated before throwing in, "Not a lot of people come here... Everyone else likes the new playground better.." It was his way of questioning why the boy was here without being rude or sounding like he didn't want him around. That was untrue- despite what he always tried to convince himself, he didn't always like being alone.

Jiyuu's pale eyes looked around to find the shadow of the voice. It took him a moment before he could make out which was an object and which was a person. Staring over at him, the next challenge was picking out his scent. Once that was done, he would never forget the person. Well, that was easier said then done with all the outside world scents.
"I've never been to the new on. I just kinda ended up here." Jiyuu whispered looking over at the mouse on his shoulder. He had followed his nose here after getting out from the apartment. He wanted to be with Yume but she was busy taking care of others which left him alone. What more could he do than explore to the best he could. He was happy to have Squeeky with him but still...he hadn't been with people in a long time.

The halfbreed kept quiet for awhile, continuing to swing slowly, dragging his feet over the ground. School tired Spiro out a good deal, and so it was probable that he wouldn't be the great conversationalist that he could be. Well, actually he never was, even when he wasn't tired. But that's beside the point.
The boy turned to look back towards the blind male, teeth worrying at his lower lip as he thought... "Oh.." He decided on the best approach before speaking again, quietly, a bit uncertainly, "Well... I come here a lot, its nice and quiet... Um..." He paused, "My name's Spiro." His tail began to sway behind him so as to release some of his natural nervous energy.

Jiyuu listened to the sound of the swing and picked himself up. Slowly sinking his hands into the ground, he pushed himself up onto his knees and unwrapped his tail from around his waist. He was starting to get a feeling that his boy didn't want him around here. Maybe he was protective of this area. Well, if he didn't want him there, he should say so.
Jiyuu's eyes looked over at the shadow and nodded. He flashed a weak smile and a small neko fang on his left side of his lip. "Jiyuu. Nice to meet you." He said nodding his head and looking back around him taking in the shadows before looking back at the boy. "You must like it here."

Spiro nodded slightly, "Uh.. Yeah, nice to meet you too." He dug the toes of his boots into the ground- he often acted as if he didn't want people around. It was his downfall. He fiddled with his messenger bag, swaying his legs back and forth now too, letting the swing grow still. His eyes drooped to a close after a few moments, and he allowed himself to relax.
This boy was kind of quiet, too.. It was good company for the halfbreed- no one too pushy or too talkative, just another quiet boy. He drew in a deep breath, "Yeah... I like it a lot... It's better than school.." He hadn't meant to say the last part, but he let it slip with little thought. He doubted the other would mind his opinion on that hell hole. Erm, school. He shifted slightly in the swing, "It's a good place to be alone... But... Its kind've nice to have company.."

Jiyuu could feel something growing in the air but it seemed to be gone...just like the sound of the swing. "School? What is school?" He asked blinking his pale eyes over at what he thought to be the shadow of the other boy. He had heard Sirene say something about it to Yume but never too much...so he heard and he heard most everything.
"Do you want me to let you alone?" Jiyuu asked suddenly feeling he might as well get the question out in the open then leave it sitting between them. He got the feeling neither of them planned on company but as he said, it's nice every now and then.

The boy pondered on the question for awhile, "Unh..." He shuffled his feet along the ground idly, "It's a place where you go to learn stuff, where lots of people go... And there's always a big commotion, and its always really busy... I don't like it.." He felt the need to repeat that fact, just in case the neko happened to have forgotten in the short while since he had said it last.
That mismatched gaze fluttered open, turning to hook on the other boy, expression growing curious... He suddenly was afraid that he was pushing another person away again without meaning to... He had a habit of doing that. He drew in a deep breath and looked towards the ground now, "No..." His voice was quiet now, almost shy. It was rare to hear him admit to not always wanting to be on his own... But he really felt that way a lot. Especially as of late.. He didn't want to be alone again just yet.

"I don't think I'll ever be in a school..." Jiyuu whispered slightly before looking down at the ground shadows. He hadn't meant to but sometimes it was just hard not to over hear Yume and Sirene when they talked...or fought. He didn't see why they had to scream at each other sometimes but he knew some of it was about him and his 'condition.'
"Glad you don't want me to leave." Jiyuu whispered picking his head back up and perking up his ears. "I wouldn't have had a place to go." He gave a small smile and seemed to be trying to lighten the air around them. Maybe this person could be a better friend than that plant-lover goat...he growled in his throat.

"You're lucky.." Came the boy's quiet response as he ground his toes down, thinking over the horrible place that is school. "It's... Really not a lot of fun..." For some reason he felt himself opening up more than usual to the quiet boy, and even began to explain why he despised school so much, "There's a bunch of people, but you always feel really lonely.."
He shrugged slightly, and then allowed a hint of a smile to play over his lips, "Yeah.. I understand that." He stretched out his legs, pondering to himself for a second, "So.. What brought you here, anyways?"

"Lucky?" Jiyuu couldn't help but give a small chuckle to that thought. Lucky that everyone had treat him differently? All he wanted was to be treated somewhat normally. "Well, don't you have friends there?" Jiyuu asked softly looking over at the boy's shadow and blinking his pale eyes.
Reaching around to pet his mouse, he smiled. "This little guy brought me here. He's my eyes." Jiyuu smiled softly at the mouse who seemed to be confused as to what was going on. The mouse then moved up to Jiyuu's head and climbed behind on of his ears watching Spiro from there.

"Yeah.. Lucky..." Spiro knew how it was to be treated differently... Especially because he was halfbreed. He hesitated at the mention of friends, drawing in a deep breath.. "Yeah, I guess they're there, but... They never seem to want to be around me.. They haven't for awhile." He shrugged a bit. "Two of them... Colette and Avery." He nodded slightly and then went quiet for a bit.
He actually smiled as he spied the mouse, "Oh... I have a mouse too. His name is Alexei... He's my closest friend, but I can't take him to school. I'm not allowed to.. Animals are against the rules or something." He watched the little guy thoughtfully.
