Welcome to Transfiguration. My name is Gale Dragonwolf, but you can call me Professor Gale. Now, seeing as it is summer break now, I don't expect much work. So without further ado, here is your assignment for over the summer.
In an essay, no less then 3 paragraphs, I would like for you to describe the difference between Animunguses and real animals and why they are illigel with out registration.
Please make sure everything is spelled correctly. Grammar and Spelling errors might result in having to redo your work.
Like any essay, you must have:
A title, and the name of who it is written by,
The date of which the essay was completed,
And two or more paragraphs.
This assignment must be completed and handed in by August 1st by the latest, any one who completes it before hand might get some extra house points. Have a good summer everyone.

The Differences,
Animagi and Animals Written by Professor Kiara Temonio

Transfiguration
Animals, well, there just animals, plain and simple. They have one shape and live their entire lives that way. Animagi, however, are basically humans in animal forms. A human, with the right amount of practice, can become said being. They only have the two forms, one human, one animal.
Animagi must be registered, because otherwise they would be fined, or even worse... Sent to Azkaban.
Take Sirius Black for example. He was an Animagi, and his animal form was that of a dog. Because he was not registered, the Ministry did not know how he had gotten out of jail, and had been unable to track him once he had.

Animunguses and Animals
The main difference between Animunguses and animals is that Animunguses are Wizards/Witches who can turn into animals. Animals are just plain animals and can't turn into a witch or wizard.
Animunguses have to be registered because they can hurt people and they can be tracked if anything does happen and it also helps Wizards and Witches from getting hurt.
Animunguses can be good to if they are willing to help like Sirius black and James potter helped there friend lupen when he turned into his werewolf form

Bewtween Animagi and Animals By: Bella Morte
Date: July 6th, 2008 The main difference between animagi and animals is that animagi are human beings, witches/wizards, and they can use transfiguration to morph their bodies into a creature. Animals don't have the ability to change into another creature or even human.
The reason that any animagi must be register with the Ministry of Magic is because they ability is so rare, and the creatures can be so dangerous, that they must be able to keep track of the creatures. When an animagus transforms they have the brain and train of thought as that of the animal that they can change into. This alone makes them extremely dangerous and in need for keeping tabs.
