 The Hogwarts library contains tens of thousands of books on thousands of shelves. Included in its many sections is an Invisibility Section, a section with information about dragons, and a Restricted Section at the back, set off with a rope. A signed note from a teacher is required to peruse that section of the library; it contains books of Dark Magic only used by older students studying advanced Defence Against the Dark Arts. One of the books in this section screams when opened.

Jessica left the Ravencalw dorm and made her way to the library. She had her charms book, parchment, and ink and quill in a small bag slung over her shoulder. She entered the nearly deserted library, nodded to the libarain, and made her way to her normal study cubical towards the back of the library. Her father used to tell her that her mother kept late nights in the library. She didn't beleive him until she found the cubical with her parent's initials ingraved into the wood. She smiled and fingered the initials before she sat down to get to work.
She finished her paper in no time, just a few last sentences to her third paragraph and a conclusion to write. She smiled and closed her book and proped her head up on her arm while she lazily fingered her mother's initals. Her mind soon began to wander from memories of her parents to the new boy that she jsut met, Jimmy Longview. He was an intresting character. There was somethign intresting about him that drew Jessica closer to him. "Maybe I'll ingrave our initials here one day..." She whispered. She laughed softly, what a crazy idea. She just met the boy and she was already thinking of marrying him.

Kate needed a place to go. Somewhere quite to collect her thoughts and calm down about what just happened.
Thus, she found herself in the Library. She loved to read, though it was mostly romance novels.
She often dreamed of something that she was positive she would never get.
She was a Slytherin, therefore no other boy in any other house would touch her. And the slytherin boys were mostly always arranged to marry someone else.
She sighed and walked into the library clutching her hands and nervously ringing them together. She was stressing and it was easy to tell.
She looked around and decided to sit at an empty desk by herself, away from all the other people, even a few from her own house. Which was strange seeing as all Slytherins normally stuck together.
She grabbed a book that she had been reading for days. Yes, it was a romance novel and she was fairly well into it. "What I wouldn't give for something like this" she whispered to herself sadly. She was currently at a part where the main female character was holding onto her forbidden lover, refusing to let go no matter what would happen to her.
She often read books that showed who she truely wished to become, to escape from the harsh realities of the Slytherin 'code'.
She sighed wistfully once more and turned the page, getting more and more wrapped up into the pages that she forgot she was even in the Library in the first place.

Jess heard pages being ruffled. She raised her head and looked around, trying to see who would be sitting so far back in the library. She half expected to find another Ravenclaw and gasped when she saw who it really was. "Kate? What are you doing here?" She asked softly so the librarian couldn't hear her.

Kate heard no one speak as she was far to into what she was reading.
She sighed again, lazily turning another page with one hand.
"Just once" she whispered sadly, "I want to be the princess".
With that she turned another page. She read so much she became a relatively fast reader. Though this was by far her favorite book, she read it millions of times.

Jess balled up a peice of paper and tossed it at Kate. "Oi, Kate!" She said a little louder. "What are you reading? I never thought i'd see a Slytherin this far back in the stacks." She got up and walked over to Kate's study desk.

"W-What?" she muttered, snapping out it. She looked up from her book to find Jess staring at her.
She just about screamed in suprise and quickly shut her book and held it tightly to her chest.
"W-What do you want!" she hissed, a blush covering her cheeks of almost being caught.

Jess stepped back slightly. She put her hands up in front of her as if trying to defend herself. "Woah, calm down. I was just as surpised to find you back here. I never see anyone except for a stray Ravenclaw or two come this far back into the stacks." She made a grab for Kate's book, "Hey, what'cha got here?"

"Dont touch it!" she yelled, backing away from her.
She didnt want people knowing she read gushie romance novels.
Her hands were wrapped tightly around the book that was ripping from the many times it had been read.
Its spine was crooked and some pages were barely hanging by a thread.

"Hush up, Kate!" Jessica said forgetting about the book and putting her hand over Kate's mouth. "The librarian is a real b***h, I don't need to get yelled at because you decied to yell at me first." She gave Kate a stern look. "I'll forget about the book as long as you don't yell at me again, okay?" She said, her hand still on Kate's mouth.

Kate glared and set the book down.
She closed her eyes and took and deep breath through her nose.
Exhaling slowly, she resumed her composure and opened her eyes to look at Jess with a cold stare.
What in Merlins name was she doing here?

Jessica took her hand from Kate's mouth. "I take that as a yes." She sighed and sat on top of Kate's desk. She wiggled her legs slightly and waited for Kate to speek again. She wasn't going to ask what she was doing in the library, she'd tell her eventually. But one thing that Jess learned while being Kate's friend was that in times of need she retreated to her ranchy romance novels. She smiled, "What novel did you pick up this time?" she asked Kate softly. She knew something must be bothering Kate, why else would she risk her reputation to be seen around the library?

"N-nothing" she said, and subconciously tugged her sleeve down. "I don't know what you mean" she said, suprisingly without any hint of hate.
"Please just....leave me alone" she whispered, looking at the desk with eyes full of shame.
Her hands on the book loosened and she let the book fall from her grasp and lay gently on the desk, revealing the cover, "Heartbreaker Heaven".

Jess picked up the book and turned the "gently loved" cover over and over in her hands. "No matter how many times you say to leave you alone I won't. How many times have you listend to me when I asked you to leave me alone? Uh, none." She smiled a sad smile. She placed the book down and put a hand gently on her friend's shoulder. "Kate, what's the matter? Forget the whole house differences, I was your best friend before we came to Hogwarts, I can still be your best friend now."

"You don't trust me remember" she whispered, not daring to look into her eyes for fear she might be able to see right through her.
"I'll just turn on you...right" she hissed, more to herself than to Jessica, but it came out all the same.
How she hated this, she felt so vulnerable! It was unbearable!
What really bothered her was that Jessica would soon discover what was eating her up, with or without her saying so.
