Kate took the letter rather hastily and read it.
Her expression went from eager, to confused, to worry...to...well to be honest it went pretty blank.
She had to re-read it over and over, her mind engraving the words from paper to memory.
"T-This...this isn't 'chissled in stone' is it?" she asked Bellatrix, a worry tone etched in her words.
"I mean, I can do something about this can't I?"

Bellatrix frowned.
"Why would you want to do something about it? I'm finally getting married!" She looked at Kate happily.
"And Narcissa! Oh, to such a good family and so fast!" Bella was sure her sister would go far.

Kate looked around nervously. "Oh no, I'm extremely happy for you! Its...Cissy..." she said looking down.
She felt incredibly awkward, she didn't want to outright say she didn't want her to wed Lucius...it would be rude!

"Did he sleep with a half blood? Or...No! Not a mudblood! He couldn't!" She looked at Kate, with a cold loathing clearly directed at Lucius.

"No no! Don't get the wrong impression" she said, trying her best to reasure her, "he has better taste than that. No, its just I, well...you know, sort of fancy Lucius...and..." she continued, with a faint blush coloring her cheeks.

"Don't go near him. If you ******** this up, I will kill you." She turned about and waked off, hoping for Kate's sake she didn't do something dumb.

Kate sighed.
Now what? Surely she was not wecome at that meeting now.
Should she just forget it...forget him?
No! She truly deserved him!
Besides, she thought smirking, it was in her nature to get the guys she desired.
She was half veelah after all.

Bella sighed. What a shame. She had really like Kate. If she promised to forget Lucius, or at least not to make a move...Then she wouldn't Crucio her.
Cissy needed a good husband.

And with that single thought in mind she decided to 'work her magic' on some poor, unsuspecting soul.
The Lake sounds like a good place, she thought to herself and walked that direction, her hips swinging and head held high all the way down the halls.
