It was always strange when you realised you were staying in more or less the same place as someone you'd met before, especially when the world is so big. Arc was feeling that way at the moment, he'd bumped into Hyde around the town a few times now, and had visited his house once to help him carry the books back that he'd literally bumped into him with on the first day they'd met here.

Eiji and Prism were moving around again, but for now Arc had stayed where he was, content with the small house he was staying in himself in the small town, with a room there for his siblings if they wanted it.

He was sorting himself out some dinner at the moment, it was strange being without his siblings for this long, it was lonely eating on your own all the time, he couldn't really understand how only children did it...

He'd made a pie, he was an okay cook, it was one of the skills he'd picked up over the years, useful, he liked food so it was something he could actually enjoy as well, but it always seemed a little daft just cooking for himself.

Hyde had gotten some sort of small business going. Though calling it that was a bit much, he just managed to make sure he had a steady flow of patients who paid him a small fee when they felt like it. He felt bad considering it a job as he really only got money when he was given it of free will. He didn't ask. He walked down the steps to his destination, snapping from his internal musings when he realised this place was familiar.

He slowed, looking around. Ah, didn't Arc live here? He wasn't sure on exactly where, but it was close. The elf blinked, wondering why his nightly walk had suddenly brought him this way. Well, since he was nearby...He turned and looked for the door he had heard Arc tell him about.

Upon finding it, he stood at the door and hesitated before raising his hand to knock. Just a five minute drop in or something, he needed to fix dinner and do some more reading.

Arc had just been leaning down to boredly poke the pie in the oven when the knock on his door caught his attention, he wasn't expecting anyone, so he almost ignored it, his hand hovering by the nicely risen pastry crust, but that would have been appalling manners really.. he couldn't do that..

Brushing his hands off he moved across the room and removed the chain that safety locked the door and tugged it open, a look of surprise settling on his face,

"Hyde..?" He asked, having certainly not been expecting to see the rather diminutive elf at his house any time soon,
"Are you okay? Would you like to come in..?" he stepped back, holding the door open.

Hyde started when the door opened, as the delayed answering had led him to believe that Arc was not home. He looked up at Arc, smiling a little. "Uh...well..I was just in the nieghbourhood and I..." He murmured, looking a little flustered. He wasn't used to just dropping in on people like this and it looked and smelt like Arc was about to have dinner.

"Uhm..if you're busy I can come back?" He asked, hesitating on the invitation to come in. "I need to go get something to eat anyway." He murmured, smiling once again at Arc. He liked the other, he just wasn't used to having someone as understanding as him as a friend.

Arc smiled slightly, pulling the door open a little more,
"Its okay, I'm not eating yet," He stated, leaning a little against the door,
"And besides, if you've not cooked yet you're welcome to have some food with me, I made a potato and leek pie if you're interested at all..?" he tilted his head slightly as he asked.

It wasn't really Arc's style to ask people into his house, and certainly not to share food with him, but as far as it went he rather liked Hyde's company, the elf was quiet, good natured and he never imposed himself on anyone, this made him agreeable company as far as the Levisferio was concerned at any rate.

"You wouldn't be a bother to me Hyde.." he stated ,
"You'd be more than welcome.."

Hyde nodded and tucked his hands into his pockets, walking into Arc's house with an air of curiousity and unease. He didn't know how to act while in other peoples houses, it was just something he hadn't really done much outside of his job. He smiled and nodded at the mention of food. "That sounds lovely, thank you." He said, turning to Arc.

"Your house is nice, it's a lot more homely than mine." He commented, easing up. He had forgotten how easy it was to be in Arc's company, the added fact of being in the others house was eradicated. "It's nice to see you again, I didn't realise you'd be staying around for so long. You said you travelled?"

"We do travel a lot.." he stated with a small nod,
"But sometimes it is nice to just have somewhere to stay for a while, especially when you've lived a long time, its nice to take a break every now and then, this town is small, its fairly comfortable and full of a real mix of people, so its not really that hard to slot into society here.." he settled himself down on one of the chars at his table,

"Dinner isn't quite ready yet, have a seat.." he said with a small smile, gesturing to the other chair next to the one he was settled on,
"Its fairly homely I suppose, but that was mostly down to Niji while he was here, he likes to fill each place we stay with things that we know even if we don't stay long, he and Prism have gone to the north for a while, but I'm sure they'll be back before long.. a couple of month probably.." he added nonchalantly,
"Would you like a drink..? I have some fruit juice, or some wine if you prefer, either can be watered of course.."

Hyde took a seat smiling. "Well, if you ahve me for dinner here tonight, you have to come over to mine for dinner when you can." He offered, resting his hands on the table. "Yeah, I haven't lived very long. But I am going to live for a long time, I guess ettling early makes it easier when life goes on." He mused, running a hand through his dark ruby hair.

He dropped a hand over his blacked eye, before letting it rest on the table again. "Well, it's nice to know Niji wants to get some things to make home feel like home." He commented. "And that they'll be back to see you, I have no idea when Liere will manage to come see me."

"We spend a fair amount of time together.." Arc stated,
"Its usually me that wants the alone time.. but then you do find yourself missing them, even if they are utterly infuriating a lot of the time.." he shook his head.

"I'd be happy to come to your for dinner at some point Hyde, but whenever is convenient for you, I don't really have much of an agenda to run to, I just do what I want when I want to.." he smiled at the Elf,

"I don't work like you do my little friend.." he chuckled, looking over at the oven for a moment,
"Shouldn't be too long now though, Its rather a good thing you came here tonight, I made a pie far too large for one, and I'd probably be fed up with eating it for more than two days.. Its always nice to have pleasant company as well.. don't you agree..? Oh, the drink though, could I get you anything?"
PostPosted: Mon Jun 30, 2008 4:59 pm

Hyde nodded, smiling. "Yeah, Liere does get annoying. But I miss him an awful lot when he's gone." He said with a soft sort of sigh, he really did miss his little brother.

"Ah, tomorrow night I have to go check on a pregnant woman, but the night after....?" Hyde asked with a smile, mentally ticking off the things that needed to be done. He blinked when the question for drink arose again, colouring from embarrassment. "Oh, i'm sorry. I didn't mean to ignore that before...uhm...wine please? Just a small bit though, I'm terrible if I drink too much and yes, I agree that company is brilliant."

"I'll water it down.." Arc said with a smile, getting to his feet again,
"Its how it was actually intended to be drink anyway, better for you too.." he moved across the kitchen and set about pouring the drinks for them both, the same thing, white wine watered down.

Once he was down he took the drink back to Hyde, setting it in front of him,
"You didn't ignore it, it just slipped your notice.." he stated with a smile.
"You don't need to worry Hyde, you're not being disagreeable in any way.. and I wouldn't wish to get you drunk anyway.." he smiled, people are not themselves when they're intoxicated.

He settled down again in his chair, looking once again at the oven,
"I'm sorry you get lonely Hyde.." he said quietly,
"You'd be welcome here any time you wanted company," he stated with a small smile,
"Seeing as we're both lonely from time to time.."

Hyde smiled and nodded, turning his head as he watched Arc get the drinks. He liked Arc, because the Levisferio was nice and didn't expect anything much from him. Hyde gave as much as he could, he was still trying to open up a bit more. "Ah, I guess so. I don't drink wine much outside of balls."

Hyde picked up the wine when it was set down, sipping at it slowly. He liked the flavour. "Yeah, I'm a little scatterbrained lately. I nearly forgot to get dressed yesterday. I had fallen asleep on the sofa after a shower and woke up. I was late though so I nearly rushed off. But there's a mirror on the back of the door, so I did." Hyde said, sipping his drink again. It had been a bit startling. He had nearly run into the street naked.

Hyde fell silent, nodding at Ark's words. He was really touched at those words. "Ah...thank you....that means a lot to me for you to say that." Hyde answered with a soft grin. "Same to you, we don't live far from eachother."

"That would have been more than a little embarassing.." Arc stated, looking ever so slightly amused, I can't say that's one I've ever done before.. but oh well.." he shook his head, sipping his own wine.
"It doesn't matter though, we all have days when we're not so awake or are very much away with the fairy's.. it happens.." he reached out and gave the elf's shoulder a very gentle squeeze.

"You're welcome Hyde.. we're friends now no? It seems silly for us to sit alone apart when there is pleasant company so easily available to us.." he moved his hand away from the other shoulder, knowing he was a little jumpy still a lot of the time,

"Oh, dinner.." He stated, getting up and moving to the oven, starting to dish up.
PostPosted: Mon Jun 30, 2008 5:37 pm

Hyde nodded, chuckling a little.
"Yeah, it would have. Luckily I avoided it." He commented, feeling a little embarrassed, but not as much as usual. He relaxed a great deal around Arc it seemed. He even permitted the other to touch him with freaking out any. That was a feat and a half lately, he hated being touched by anyone at all.

"Yes, it does seem a little foolish. I like having a friend this nearby." Hyde said happily, sipping at his drink a little more. He smiled, sniffing at the aire when Arc went to dish up dinner. It smelt so good~

It didn't take Arc long to sort of their dinner, it was simply the pie and a couple of kinds of vegetable that he'd cooked for them that evening. Just some pea's and some carrots. He served them up and carried the two plates across the room to the waiting elf, setting one down in front of Hyde, and one in his own place before stepping off again briefly only to return with two sets of knives and forks.

"There we go.." he stated, settling down in his chair again,
"It will be pretty warm, so be careful okay..?" he stated, it wasn't meant to be patronising, he'd burnt himself so many times on hot food in the past...

He had to admit, as he started eating that it tasted okay, good in fact, he liked vegetables more than he enjoyed meat if he was honest, he'd not really known what the elf liked, but he hoped that this would go okay.
