I don't think that was very nice of your friend confused Instead of saying something like "You're too depressed", I think a true friend would say something like, "Hey...is something bothering you?" Also, if you love him like a brother, you wouldn't pretend to be cool and exciting around a brother would you? I'd say that friends accept each other, happy or not. And real friends would try to make their friend happy if they're depressed. Maybe you could try talking to this friend of yours (maybe about what's bothering you?) so that you don't have to pretend. Do you know what I mean? heart

I think you may just be going through a rough patch, its apart of growing up and changing. Not everyone can be cool and exciting all the time, it would be awfully exausting. You should not pretend to be something your not and as a friend he shouldn't want you to. If your feeling happ then be happy, if your feeling sad then be sad. Masking things isn't fair on either of you.
I think the key word was "too"... I think that... Maybe he is just scared because your not as happy as you were and doesn't know how to handle it. He is probably worried. Just talk with him and explain that your still you and always will be and that he has no need to be worried or concerned.... you are okay and not about to jump of a tall building. If you done that I think that maybe he would be calmer and then you can return to being friends.

I totally agree with you guys, I had a friend who said that to me once. He was equally as depressed I mean you really shouldn't pretend to be something you are not. He should not have said that, why not talk to him about what he said that might make things a little better.
