Wycliffe Bay is a small city on the northern shores, similar to Nova Scotia or England in temperature and weather. It is a modern town with thriving downtown section, built out of old brick. Due to the thriving downtown, suburbs are not in existence.
The Sidhe have settled not far from Wycliffe Bay, occasionally sneaking in for a good bit of amusement, or perhaps another futile try to speak to loved ones in the human world. Forested by typically temperate trees, the area is lush and green, their homes small and carved into the trees like apartments. The location where Court is held, however, is quite grand, with cobbled walkways and an open ceiling. Tapestries hang from the walls, in rich colours, ornamenting the relatively large building.
The Péist live in between the Sidhe and Wycliffe Bay, in hopes to catch the Sidhe and rid the world of them. Because of their proximity to the town, they use a good mix of human-wrought and natural elements in their building, dark coloured stone being their primary building material. Tatters of finery still surround them; an open reflection of their personalities.
We're sure you're curious about the three main groups.
Humans
Obviously, humans are humans. They have no special powers, cannot see the Sidhe or Péist (though, they can definitely hear them, though, even that is written off to their mind playing tricks on them). Most of our human interaction will take place in an urban environment, so bear this in accordance with your character.
Sidhe
The Sidhe in our roleplay were at one point human. With newly found powers of flight, magic, and invisibility to humans, most Sidhe have settled in the world of the Court, a small settlement outside the city of Wycliffe Bay. Magic is limited, because it is the very life-blood of the Sidhe, so use it only when you have to. The Sidhe also went through a physical transformation, growing wings, and shrinking down to nearly a foot tall, give or take an inch. Sidhe wings look like lacewings, with a spring green, lacy, almost sheer appearance, with sets on top and bottom. Some of the remaining pre-change Sidhe remained behind, choosing to stay kind toward the influx of the newly-changed. Their wings are like lacewings, only a bright metallic gold. There are only a few of these, so only a few will be allowed to play this variety. They are seen as being the main ruling party within the Sidhe. The appearance change seems to be willful, though augmented by the Powers-that Be, but once it occurs, cannot be reversed.
Péist
Ah, the Péist. These guys were the old school Sidhe, before things became topsy-turvy. Obviously, they aren't so keen to their numbers being added to in such a way, and so are after the Sidhe to end their numbers. Slightly taller than the Sidhe, at sixteen inches (again, give or take an inch), their wings bear resemblance to that of the Snakefly, also with sets on top and bottom. Black is their favoured colour. They are sneaky, and will do anything to assume their rightful place. The appearance change seems to be willful, though augmented by the Powers-that Be, but once it occurs, cannot be reversed.
