The Academy Dining hall is dimly lit to allow for a calm atmosphere while the students eat. The tables are circular to promote conversation among diners. Though it is possible to eat alone, there is usually someone here willing to chat over a meal The food is served from several different stations. Each station is dedicated to a specific food category, and you can get anything from Tacos to Cherry Pie.

The place was relatively deserted when they arrived. It was no wonder, seeing as how the events of the night previous had been so serious. He still wasn't certain about what he had seen, but Samyule knew that the teachers would get it sorted out.
"Doesn't look like we'll have a hard time finding a table, Let's split and get something to eat before coming back."

" A long time ago, way back in history, when all there was to drink was nothin but cups of tea. Along came a man by the name of Charlie Mops, and he invented a wonderful drink and he made it out of hops.
He must have been an admiral a sultan or a king, and to his praises we shall always sing. Look what he has done for us he's filled us up with cheer! Lord bless Charlie Mops, the man who invented beer beer beer tiddly beer beer beer!"
It was a lucky thing no teachers were about, as Ella and Colin had taken to heralding their journey with rousing tavern songs and generally acting fools while Rosie and Yule looked on in astonishment and occasional laughter as they spun about in the path, hooking arms and pretending they were in a loud tavern and enjoying themselves to the fullest. Some people were utterly shameless, it seemed.
Of course, once they actually got to the place, the two shut up and hustled over to a circular table to set down their coats with easy grins at the others.

Rosie gazed around the place before setting her coat on the back of a chair. "Alright, so what do they have in this place? Sorry to say they must not have beer for you two." She grinned and laughed at Colin and Ella. "Think they have waffles, since it's still kind of morning?"

Samyule looked around with a raised eyebrow. "It looks like they have a little of everything. There is a...strange variety of students on campus so I guess they have to be prepared for special Diets. I'm a fan of waffles too, though, so I'll join you with those."
He had nothing to deposit so he simply pulled out a chair, indicating that it was reserved. It wasn't as if they had to worry about anyone stealing their seats, though. Most of the students were either still sleeping or waiting for the Headmaster's all clear before venturing out to get something to eat.
Yule loaded his plate with waffles, strawberry topping, some eggs, bacon, and of course a cup of black coffee. When he sat down to eat, it was a wonder how his plate hadn't unbalanced him.

Chattering, Ella and Colin wandered over to where Rosie was at the buffet table. Ella chose raisin toast with butter and loose tea, carrying over the pot and cups if anyone wanted some, and then headed over to rejoin Yule. She took a seat next to him- as Colin and Rosie would like a seat next to each other- and set down the pot of hot water and cups, along with the loose tea leaves. Colin simply chose cereal and fruit, not feeling too hungry, before walking back with Rosie. " So, any plans for the day, guys?" Ella asked before taking a bite of her toast.

Rosie had taken waffles, raspberries, whipped topping and some raspberry syrup. It was like heaven, especially with the addition of sausages and a tall glass of orange juice. Somehow, the stress hadn't dampened her appetite at all. She sat down next to her friends, which she was sure she could call them by now.
"I dunno. Kind of tired, so... might just go back and sleep." Truth be told, the ordeal at the ball had shaken her badly, and it wasn't just fatigue keeping her close to the dorms. "Headmaster never said it was alright to go traveling around anyways."

Samyule sighed as he tucked into his plate "Studying for me, I've got an exam coming up that I know I'm going to do badly on. At least if I study, I'll be able to barely pass as opposed to fail miserably." He stabbed at one of the waffles, almost irritated that it was so light and fluffy instead of the usual cold and soggy he had come to expect from school breakfasts. Grove was certainly surprising in more ways than one.

Ella watched him stab the waffle with some amusement on her face. " What subject is it in? I wouldn't mind helping you study, I do pretty fair on grades." She sent him a smile before taking a sip of her tea. Colin sent Rosie a knowing look at a wink that the other two barely noticed. He moved a bit to engage his girlfriend in conversation, leaving Ella and Yule to their own devices.

"Hey there." Rosie nudged Colin a bit before stuffing her face with food. "You doing alright?" she mumbled before chewing and swallowing. She was going to get fat from all this goodness, she thought. "I mean, can you sleep at night and everything?"

In the background, Gerald entered the dining hall and silently went about gathering a small breakfast. His headphones were on, and he appeared to be listening to his iPod. Although he had cleaned up and dressed in a fresh uniform, there was something unpolished about his appearance. The dark shadows under his eyes made it clear he was not well rested. The young man looked pale and small as he drifted through the tables, choosing a seat at a small table away from the other diners. Gerald sat with his back to the rest of the room and kept his gaze fixed blankly on his tray. Pieces of food moved back and forth around his plate, only occasionally making it up to his mouth. For once, his music was turned up to high volume; he paid no attention to his surroundings.

"Math" he replied between mouthfuls. "Abstract calculus to be precise. My sister is a Literature teacher, I've grown up with Shakespeare, Chaucer, Darwin...." He trailed off, remembering the years of tutoring he'd received from Gloria during the time she was training to become a teacher.
"Why does this place expect me to perform feats of mathematics when they know full well I grew up in a convent raised by Nuns and my book-happy sister?" He knew it was his own fault for selecting such difficult courses from the enrollment sheet, but he had been recommended for it based upon his grades. It was always easier to be intelligent when presented with one's own personal instructor. Here, he was basically on his own.

Ella blinked before looking at Colin. " Colin, my adorable and hunkalicious lark that belongs to Rosie, I'm sure you can help this insane person with his uh..abstract calculus." She shook her head, before tilting it slightly to watch the new comer. Her brow soon creased in worry. Even from here she could tell he-who ever he was- was not faring so well. With this worry came the compulsion to help him. It was like this with nearly everyone she met or saw who seemed to be having some problems. If it was natural, or part of the Witch belief that had grown in her over time, who could tell? Belatedly, she wondered if he noticed her watching him with a frown and creased brow that could remind anyone of a worried mother. Though with such dark circles, probably not.
Colin blinked, before chuckling and looking at Yule. " You must be very insane to cause her to call me that." He grinned and sneaked a strawberry from Rosies plate and biting off the end.

"You're lucky I like you, or I would have denied you that strawberry." Rosie pecked Colin on the cheek before looking over to the boy sitting alone. From personal experience, she knew how much it sucked to sit alone... but sometimes, people wanted to be alone. If he didn't, she figured, he would have come over to them and said something, right? Rosie was compassionate to some degree, but then logic took over and she no longer felt inclined to reach out. But... ever since Colin came around, she had the nagging brain. What if, she thought... what if she was wrong? Time to consult the others.
"Guys," she whispered, and wordlessly inclined her head towards the loner.

Though he was usually very observant, Gerald wasn't himself today. The Eagles blasted in his ears, mercifully blocking out everything. He was so tired that, for a moment, he zoned out completely and stopped eating. When he finally remembered to blink, it took him a second to remember that he was at the dining hall, supposedly having breakfast. Right. Food was necessary. He forced down another bite.
