Registering for the guild will now take place in the Principal Teacher's office. The Headmaster's office is only for use when students wish to role play with an academic figure. Please do not Role Play in the Principal Teacher's office except for your introductory posts.

Sebastian and Evy arrived early in the morning. The sun was still coming up behind the trees and the day hadn't yet gotten as warm as it promised to. They'd left their baggage at the Gatehouse, knowing that the Gatekeeper would watch over it...or feel Evy's wrath.
The Headmaster's door stood before them, and Sebastian reached out to give it a sturdy knock. Waiting for the door to open, he looked over at Evy.
"He'll probably have just gotten in. He wasn't expecting us so early."

Evangeline nodded, tugging on one of her curls.
" You had to be punctual." She sent him a wry smile to show she was just kidding around. The young woman was still partially asleep, but not angry for being roughly shaken awake earlier in the morning by Gabe, who insisted she get up and get moving with Bastian to the Academy.
She smiled as a distinctive male voice echoed in from inside the Office.
" Enter." Evy took in a deep breath to try and get herself to wake up more.

Bastian managed a small smile despite his nervousness. "Well, I suppose after all this time vacationing with Gabe in his Gatehouse, it couldn't hurt you to wake up early for a change." He winked at her to show her that contrary to popular belief, he did have a sense of humor.
Opening the door, Bastian saw the headmaster seated behind his desk. "Kaien Sordeau? I'm Sebastian Brighton and this is Evangeline Burke. We're checking in."
"Welcome." Headmaster Sordeau said with a weary smile. It was quite early and the two of them had come at quite a surprise. His coffee still sat un-touched on his desk and a muffin was still waiting beside it. "You've stayed with Gabe I presume? Good. I have had your rooms prepared in the Keystone Dormatory and the two of you are in Class 3 which is specially reserved for the Keystone students."
Sebastian nodded understanding. "We understand their are duties that we perform while we're here."
Kaien sighed. "Yes. This academy has been the first defense for the Gateway. While The academy itself protects the Mortal side, you and those of you from the other realms are to protect it should anything come from the Realms. Essentially, you are here as Guardians."

Evy nodded, thinking.
" Are there any other students who have that post aswell, sir? Or is it just us?" She asked, twiddling her thumbs.
" And also, I was wondering, sir, if there was anything in particular that is coming from the Gate? Any certain information we should know about?" She continued, watching the Headmaster.

Kaien nodded. "You will be accompanied by other students as they arrive. Of course - they will never be as many of you as there are the regular Academy students." He leaned back in his chair surveying the two of them. They certainly had a different look about them than the usual students he interviewed.
"There is nothing in particular coming from the Gateway. Generally, all parties involved in the war respect the division between the Mortal and Immortal realms. However, there are the occasional defects - beings thinking that they can escape the war by coming to this realm. For the safety of humankind, we can not allow refugees or other and possibly more unfriendly beings through the Gate."
"Gabe is my first line of defense, you are my second. He has a tough job, but he's been able to handle it so far, so I'm not worried."
The headmaster sat forward again and stuck his hands together. "If you have no other questions, I'd like to give you your keys around the campus. These badges will open the gateway allowing you to pass freely between this world and yours. I only ask that you go no further than Atlanthum."
He handed the two of them their badges:
"Welcome to Grove Academy. Keep the secret of the Gateway, Let nothing pass through." With a smile, he waved them out of his office.Once in the Hallway, Bastian pined the badge on his clothes and turned to do the same for Evy. "Sounds like this will be a blast." The sarcasm in his voice was evident.

Evy rolled her eyes at him, running a finger over her badge.
" Oh it won;t be so bad." She punched him lightly in the shoulder, smiling.
" Atleast it's not all up to us. That would be a bit difficult, i'd imagine." She left out that it would be nigh impossible, as that was obvious. They headed down the hall away from the Headmasters office, and to the outside.
" So, where to now?" She wondered aloud.

"Let's go check the dorms" He said, looking out over the campus. It'll be better if we get settled in first. Maybe we can meet Gabe for a late lunch later. I'm sure he wouldn't mind.
With that, Bastian set out for the Keystone dorm - a short walk across campus.

Rosy had just entered the office as Bastian and Evy were leaving. She paid them no mind, squeezing gently past them. Rarely did she greet anyone she barely knew, or give them the courtesy of her stepping aside. Her only reason for being in the Manor was on pure business, not social niceties.
Nice place.Her heavy feet rested in front of the door to the Headmaster's office after she had taken a few glances around. The polished appearance made her feel a bit more at home, though she knew this weird school could never be home. In her mind, she could already hear the scholarly voice bravely outlining the school's purpose, history, and the honor they were sure to feel at having accepted such a talented young mind into their institution. Such lies. She had heard it several times before, unfortunately.
A small, aloof sigh escaped her lips as she raised her knuckles to the door, knocking twice before taking a small step back.

Kaien raised his head. So many students this morning already..."Please enter" He called, and stood as the young woman opened the door.
"Welcome, Have a seat. I wasn't expecting anyone else this early, but it is a pleasant surprise. May I have your name and acceptance letter, please?"

Rosy stepped into his office, again, slightly impressed by the decor.
"Rosalin Fletcher, sir," she said, fishing the acceptance letter out of her square bag and handing it to him. Only when it reached his grasp did she oblige the invitation to sit. As Rosy waited for him to say something, her face took on the calm, though rather emotionless state it had become so accustomed to.

"Ah. Welcome then, Rosalin. Your academic record was quite impressive...as was your list of previously attended institutions. I recognized many of those names as places that I myself wished to attend when I was your age. Is there any reason you didn't find them agreeable?"
Kaien was trying to gauge her personality. She was obviously wealthy from the academy list he'd seen. She had a strength, though, that pampered girls didn't often have. It was promising.

The same questions... And yet, the way he was addressing her was bending her towards something resembling politeness. Her voice didn't contain the snappy attitude she had used with previous Headmasters. Just a flat answer for the facts.
"My parents thought I wasn't being properly looked after. They're hoping for some sort of challenge to see me grow academically."
Business, all business... Rosy hoped that answer was enough for him.

"Yes. I understand that." He said with a smile. "My Uncle was the headmaster here so he expected quite a lot. Well, I'm curious about what you'd like to get out of this place. It's all well and good for your parents to decide things, but what's important is how you feel."
He settled in his chair and took a small drink of his coffee before proceeding. "After all, you're the one that decides your own destiny. Thirsty?" He slid an empty cup her way and gestured to the coffee pot on the table. "I'm afraid all I have to offer right now is coffee, but it's fresh."

She shook her head mutely before answering his question. Now she had a bit of a snap to her.
"I'm looking forward to seeing professors who actually understand what they're teaching as well as those who embrace the opinions of their students. I'm also hoping for a student body that is actually focused and will provide some sort of challenge for me during my stay." The way she had expressed her view, Rosy might as well have been a seasoned gladiator in the coliseum of education.
